  1. I would assume that the bird has to be from First of the Sun, as per this WoB:

You said before that if a human ate an Aviar worm, it would not doing anything, right? Someone's tried that? What would happen if a baby...?

    Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

Still wouldn't work. The gut flora is too different. And they're not part of the symbiotic life cycle there. That system has evolved to the symbiosis that it has, and humans are too new to trying to make that work.

Humans are not new on the planet, but they are not part of that system.

    Podman36 [PENDING REVIEW]

Could they be trained into it?

    Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

    Training wouldn't work.

Not like training, but through generations.

    Brandon Sanderson [PENDING REVIEW]

Through generations, that would be theoretically possible.

It's lucky enough that a bird from a totally different environment, totally different place, would have similar enough gut flora for Sak to work- the birds on the mainland and the ones on Patji must of had common ancestors at some point. I would find it incredibly unlikely that a bird from any other planet (even a bird from somewhere distant on First of the Sun may not be able to become Aviar, I'd think) would have compatible gut flora to this incredibly specific, unique, isolated, magical system by happenstance.

Which would also mean a no to the Aviar axehound, unfortunately. Hope this helps! ^_^

Pagerunner asked Brandon a question in an AMA on a Sunday. As he eagerly awaited the answer, Brandon told him, "I will reply to your question some day this week. But I will not tell you on which day I will reply, so when I do, it will come as a complete surprise to you."

Pagerunner began to ponder what Brandon had said. If Saturday arrived, and Brandon had not yet answered his question, then he would know that Brandon could only reply later that Saturday, and the answer would not come as a surprise to him. Therefore, Pagerunner knew that Brandon would not respond to him on Saturday.

But if Friday arrived, then there would only be two days left for Brandon to reply. Having already eliminated Saturday as a possibility, then he would know that Brandon could only reply later that Friday, and the answer would not come as a surprise to him. Therefore, Pagerunner knew that Brandon would not respond to him on Friday.

In a similar fashion, Pagerunner eliminated Thursday, then Wednesday, then Tuesday, then Monday, and last of all Sunday. With no days remaining where Brandon could answer his question, Pagerunner dejectedly closed out of the AMA, saddened that he would never receive his answer.

And on Wednesday, when Brandon replied to Pagerunner's question, it came as a complete surprise to him.

  3. Nothing in the spoiler tag? Nothing in the spoiler tag?!?! She was giving us a mysterious insight into the delightfully intellectual and hilarious Book of Endless Pages.

Word to the wise, however. Ishar was right to put it into spoilers. That second paragraph practically spoils the whole book!

In my opinion it does ;) Maybe take a look at who the King's wit was.

When you will buy an audiobook of one of Sanderson's books in your native language, and you already have both the book and the audiobook in english, because you finally convinced your husband to try the books out.

When you now spend hours thinking about which book would be best and can't decide. (Anyone has a suggestion?)

I would start him with Mistborn. It's a good place to start with the Cosmere, and regardless its a great book.

Personally, TFE is my favorite book, ever.

And I've started feeling like I'm developing anxiety, and have been for years.

And I want to help others, but can't find a way! I don't know what to do!

What you’re doing right now is pretty great! Setting up this thread and this idea... at the very least, it’s a step in the right direction.

If I were you, my first immediate course of action to do right now would be snuggling my birds. At least saying hi to them. Because pets are magic.

@Draginon I'm experiencing the opposite problem. I told my parents about the depersonalization, but they didn't think it was a big deal. They just thought it was sleep deprivation. So I haven't talked about it since. I told @Cel about both the depression and depersonalization a few days ago, though. I want to talk to them about it, but I don't think they'll take it seriously. They were more worried about me struggling with my closest friends than the depersonalization. Honestly, the depersonalization is the main cause of the depression, and the signs of anxiety I'm experiencing.

Sometimes I just feel like I'm exaggerating things, and it's not as bad as I make it out to be. But then I think, and realize, no, this is a problem. But then I think, well, there are people in the world going through things way worse than me, so I should stop complaining about my problems, and try to help the other people get our of theirs, then I realize that's impossible, and it's just this big circle. And that is a strong sign of depression. Then I have a really crazy way of viewing the world, where I can just... Understand life. And I hate it. I just want to be normal for once. I want to be able to care about myself without feeling guilty, to stop being smart, and maybe have more than one person IRL who I actually consider a good friend. I don't know where I'm going with this, so I'm going to stop.

Talk to them again. Convince them that it’s serious. If it’s really getting this bad, you should try and get a therapist or a guidance counselor or something.

But definitely make sure that your parents know you’re serious about it.
