    I too have been converted.

On a side note, did anyone see all the hemalurgic spikes sticking out of their hands and feet? Sloth inquisitors indeed.

And she said they just hang from the branches with their claws. Rusts, lady, get your facts straight! The slothquisitors *all hail the sloth* are obviously using iron and steel to embed their own spikes into the tree.

    Nature sure is amazing.

Well, it's more like they army crawl, as their limbs are designed for climbing trees. They only come down out of the canopy about once every week, to relive themselves. Then they wrap their arms around the trunk of the tree to stay upright, then take care of business. But their feet are sort of like an extra pair of arms.

Oh, here's a nice video on sloths. It shows one crossing a road, and gives a lot of facts.

Also, I just watched that video. Sloths are amazing. I think I’ve officially been converted to the Ministry of Sloth.

Scadrians don't actually speak English, so far as I'm concerned, I call it "fantasy book translation", where the characters' language is "translated" to English (or French, or German, or maybe even Finnish) by the author. For all we know, the word for "vindication" is pronounced in a way that the pun would make sense.

Exactly. They speak a dialect of Terris, which is written as English for the sake of the reader.

:P The last meme on your other post was a reference to

    Spoiler

when Elhokar thought someone was trying to assassinate him in WoK.

I see you're new to the Shard, welcome! Try not to post more than once in a row though, just edit your first post.

Scadrial pre-rashek was at steam technology. I don't believe they had developed the radio yet.

Ahh. I think when I first read that I saw that they were in railroad, just out of steam. Thanks for clearing that up!

I'm not sure I agree that the radio comment means Harmony is seeing into the future.  It could just be a good understanding of physics, and the knowledge that they have all the pieces and haven't put them together yet.  Like maybe they have Maxwell's equations but haven't made the jump to waves.

Yeah, I don't think the radio comment was seeing the future either. From what I understand, Scadrial pre-TLR had radios, and Harmony is doing some math to say, since you got this technology this long ago you should've gotten this technology that long ago.

So in Bands of Mourning Allik says that universal metalminds don't let the user have more than three powers. My question is, would one of thsoe three always have to be allomantic? It seems like the limit is three because people can't have more than three hemalurgic spikes. Two of those spikes would need to be more feruchemical aluminum and feruchemical nicrosil in order to create a universal metalmind. That leaves one slot for unique powers, and whatever abilities the storer naturally has. Of course the storer could at most have one allomantic and one feruchemical ability if they were a twinborn. So if a metalmind grants three powers, does one of the three have to be allomantic?

There are two main things that you're a bit confused on. First is you're assumption that three is the hemalurgic limit. That is just when Harmony can take control of you. If he approves, you're good. That isn't really relevant though, because you're second misunderstanding is that a single person has to store all the attributes. I don't have the quote, but Allik says that the creators of the medallions pass it to others with different powers. For some reason they can't figure out how to pass it around to get more than three or four powers. Hope that helps answer your question!

From what I understand, you cannot store stormlight and then compound it, instead you store the ability? So that when you tap a stormlight metalmind, you tap the ability to use stormlight. So as a Nicrosil compounded you could worldhop, grab a spike or an honorblade, and fill your nicrosilmind while you have it, then put it back and keep the ability forever

No, nicrosil stores Investiture, and stormlight is just another form of Investiture. You are using your nicrosil metalmind to fuel the surges you already have.
