  1. Or you can get the rest back tonight, and give it to her tomorrow.
  2. Oh god. We've created a monster. "I have seen the end, and heard it named. The Night of Spikes, the True Desolation. The Hedgehogstorm comes." Collected on the 1st of Nanes, 1172, 15 seconds pre-death. Subject was a darkeyed youth of unknown origin.
  3. Just reporting that 1214 is still Twinborn, 2234 still Mistborn, and 2733 still Most Ancient in case we miss one of the boundaries.
  4. I just wanted to make sure you had Cohesion's abilities right. Ha. That's probably a lot less energy-intensive than trying to reenact the Shattered Plains, if less cool. True, I suppose. I still would say she's a lot more susceptible to crowding than the rest, however. Edit: By the rest, I meant the other Radiant Orders. Your solution still doesn't change that, Moogle, since, if that, if it is even possible, would apply to all Radiants and give Elsecallers no extra advantage.
  5. I assume you're talking about using Cohesion in conjunction with Transportation, a la Jasnah's death ray? Because afaik, Cohesion by itself has to be shaped by hand, like everything in the world around you is just a mass of silly putty. You forgot the sound magic too. They can probably make some very destructive blasts with sound, like the Shattered Plains on a much smaller scale. However, this does have a tendency to destroy even pretty large gems. Any few opponents can be instantly defeated by this pretty easily, but a larger crowd and she's liable to running out of gems and being overrun. So she could assassinate even the Lord Ruler, but a large crowd of ordinary mercenaries TLR could destroy without breaking a sweat could take her down.
  6. We do actually know a little about Stonewards. Cohesion allows you to shape anything however you want. Brandon gave the example of setting your hand onto a table and indenting a handprint into it. And Tension can change the molecular structure of an object, giving it incredible rigidity like that of steel or the limpness of a wet noodle. So a Stoneward could take a rock, mold it into fortifications, than use Tension to make it as hard as or harder than steel. And they could presumably do the inverse, utterly destroying walls that displease them, or even walking into and through annoying thunderclasts, killing them without lifting a finger. Needless to say, I like Stonewards.
  7. There are 5647 members. If everyone single one upvoted all of his posts, that would be 344467 upvotes. Needless to say, that goal is somewhat far off.
  8. I have a feeling that we'll think the same once we see the Stonewards in action. That massive stone arm the thunderclast is about to splatter you with? Ripped apart by its own momentum once your contact rids it of Cohesion. That wall over there, preventing your army from passing? There seems to be a man shaped hole in it. Really, most of the KR are extremely powerful in their own way. Even those without combat-focused surges (mainly Edgedancers) have Plate, Blade, Allomantic pewter on steroids from just holding Stormlight, Squires, and whatever strange order-specific abilities each are given. And they need it, as everyone else in this thread articulated much better than I could. The only real concern with the high Radiant power levels is in the event of a conflux book– it might not do to have the Surgebinders pwning all the Mistborn, Elantrians, high level Awakeners, etc.
  9. Wilson was only the third to vote for Jeo. Hardly a bandwagon at that point. Besides, Chide and Jeo were tied before he voted. As for me, it wasn't really a bandwagon either. Jeo was only one vote ahead of Chide then, so I could have easily voted for Chide to tie the vote up and hopefully save Jeo if I was Kahl. I didn't.
  10. Awesomeness made some great images of the untranslated highprince glyphs, so I brought them over here for translation. I can't really figure them out, but what I can determine is that Ruthar is either the second or third. Only those have anything resembling Rs. I'm inclined to pick the second, but I could certainly be wrong. Anyone else able to parse these?
  11. A+. Now to try to translate them.
  12. Well, that out of the way, time for analysis. 1st Glyph: Been translated already, it's Vamah. 2nd Glyph: There's a bit missing here. Right beneath the three circles, there's a mess of unintelligible scribbles. I think they're just Screw You lines, however, so they may not be that essential. 3rd: The squiggly lines on the side definitely need to be connected to the lines on the bottom. Also, I'm pretty sure the topmost stroke of the outer squigglies is unconnected from the rest. 4th: You truncated the outermost lines here. They extend farther, curving inward before turning out and downward. 5th: Hah, this one's crazy. I have no idea here.
  13. Those glyphs are upside down. You need to flip them. Edit: Wait, actually, you just need to flip the ones above the strange, radially symmetric glyph-thing. Edit Again: Bleh, I'm stupid. You just need to flip the first glyph (Vamah).
  14. Looks like Honorspren is 1024.
  15. Yet arrows are able to harm it. That's certainly not weak or anything, but it's nowhere near as impenetrable as RShara was making it sound.
  16. It's the Shattered Plains. It's pretty barren, and most things will be pretty-low-lying after erosion. Not much to hide behind. Plus, Kelsier can fly. He shouldn't have much difficulty moving to an angle that isn't blocked by the object.
  17. Plate really doesn't seem that strong. The Parshendi were throwing rocks at Shardbearers and getting pretty good results. Arrows can damage plate too, and a coin should at the very least beat that. And the max force is not fully equal to the anchor at all. Strong Allomancers are able to produce much more force than their weight should allow. It's involved, certainly, but it's not a be-all, end-all. Also, coins are smaller than people. A lot smaller. To accelerate a coin to the speed Kal was going, he'd need nowhere as much force.
  18. The lower boundary of spren is -1. Now everything is confirmed up until the 1000s.
  19. Sure, gunshots may have greater initial acceleration. But as they fly, they decelerate. As you noted, steelpushes are constant. They don't decelerate after the initial push. They might not have as great a starting acceleration, but over the duration of the push it increases to the strength where you can fly with a push. All that matters is the acceleration of the object at the point where it hits the Plate. And while steelpushes start slower, by the time it contacts the force should be greater than that of a bullet.
  20. Maybe my physics here is off, but as far as I can tell shot coins should be just as capable of penetrating armor as bullets. When you fire a gun, there is, according to Newton's Third Law, an equal and opposite reaction. The force propelling the bullet is equal to the force pushing the gun, and by extension the shooter, back– the recoil. Now, recoil can be pretty powerful in guns, but at most you're just staggering back some. Not really that much acceleration. Now compare this to a steelpush. With anchored coins, a Coinshot can fly easily from the force produced by a steelpush. You can't do that with a gun. Gun recoil will never be enough to overcome gravity, yet Coinshots can soar through the skies. Both examples have the same effected mass, but drastically differing accelerations. So the force produced by a Coinshot is greater than a gun produces. Of course, more energy will be lost to friction with coins, because coins are nowhere near as aerodynamic, and a coin lacks a penetrating point. Still, I think steelpushed coins should be just as effective a projectile as bullets overall.
  21. He wasn't fully beheaded. I think TLR certainly could survive a beheading attempt by healing back right behind the blade as it passes through, but if it was fully disconnected he couldn't, since he can't access his metalminds. The Hoid example is a full detachment of the head, so even TLR would stand no chance.
  22. Each group has their own animal. Hallendrens become Catquisitors, Idrians llamas. I am all-knowing, so clearly everything I say is true.
  23. I think you're underestimating the force of steelpushing. Remember, Kelsier can kill people with those coins. It takes a lot of force to push something through a body, and it takes a lot of force to push something heavy like a person around, something steelpushing can easily do. Coins are small, so all the force is concentrated. It is certainly capable of shattering plate with a few hits. Even if it doesn't go through, the dents and scratches add up, and Dalinar will get locked up, a perfect target to stab through the eyepiece. If Kelsier is smart and plays keep away with his steelpushing, his odds are pretty good. The threat of the Shardblade does make the matchup volatile, but I'd hand it to Kelsier.
  24. There may also be a degree of savantism associated with frequent Honorblade use. During the Gavilar fight, Szeth is unable to speak because his face takes several minutes to heal, but in WoR he easily shrugs off spear wounds, healing them fast enough that Adolin noticed it immediately.
  25. Isn't Asha Jushu a drinker, too? I think that counts as substance abuse.
