The Bone-devouring Taln [Mistborn Spoilers]
PorridgeBrick replied to Moogle's topic in Stormlight Archive
Any metal should work, seeing as an Allomancer can burn Soulcast metal. I still doubt the Spiked theory however, on the grounds that he's far too major a character and Sanderson wants SA to stand alone. -
How did he do THAT??? (Pure Conjecture, Spoilers for WoR)
PorridgeBrick replied to GeoMancer's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think it's the something else, since I believe Hoid has been said to be capable of healing from a beheading, something even TLR can't do. Of course, it might be redundant, where all those statements apply. -

Symmetry / Cymatics Images (Spoilers (probably))
PorridgeBrick replied to Maffu17's topic in Stormlight Archive
Hmm. By pure rotational symmetry, it's definitely fourfold like Thaylen City. But, it could just as easily be measured in segments, making it eight, as you said. Then all cities would still have their own unique number. I wonder if that number also corresponds to a Herald/order. That would make Kholinar Chach's, Vedenar Shallash's (very fitting), Akinah City Ishi's, Thaylen City Vedel's, and Stormseat Kalak's. -

Also, if Stormseat is a Dawncity and the mural is accurate, then it appears to have no rotational symmetry at all (or, alternatively, onefold rotational symmetry). It would be kinda sixfold-ish, but the Oathgate plateau interrupts it completely. -
Symmetry / Cymatics Images (Spoilers (probably))
PorridgeBrick replied to Maffu17's topic in Stormlight Archive
If you're just going by total lines of symmetry, Kholinar actually has six lines of symmetry too: one for each side, one for each vertex. What you want here is n-fold rotational symmetry– where the shape will always remain the same image when rotated by 360/n degrees. With rotational symmetry, Kholinar would have threefold symmetry, Vedenar sixfold, Akinah City tenfold, and Thaylen City fourfold, as opposed to eightfold. -
Uh, sure you are, Lord Prelan. Edit: Arghh, you said was. damnation you, sneaky past tense!

For your information, his name is Gaston. Also, you forgot Sataneas and the Voidmobile from Lightflame's 103% Accurate Predications for Stones Unhallowed Thread. And Cthulu, you forgot him too. You need to be more thorough next time.

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
PorridgeBrick replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I've already got my tea, thank you very much. And I wouldn't go into that alley, if I were you. Chaos is in there. He's not too happy about Swimmingly surpassing him, you see, and I think he's in the mood for another Spike. Edit: Hah. Now to hijack that thread instead. -

Hmm. Kobold, for your next Spike I think you should consider a bit more mental fortitude. You, ah, seem to be lacking it. If you act up too much, Harmony might get mad at us. -

And with every person we surpass, we get another Spike. The people in the top ten are so heavily Spiked that they must send holograms to interact with the public in their place for fear of detection. -
Metallic Arts. I loved how Harmoniously the magics fit together, and how well each of them fit into the world. Behind that would be Awakening in Warbreaker.

So.. Kinda?

I'm pretty sure that's a quote from the annotations.

We literally know just about nothing on larkin. We'll have to wait for Book 3 and the next Rysn interlude before we're able to answer any of those questions

I want to see someone from Aimia, but actually in Aimia this time. We hear so much about it, it would be nice to see it. Edit: Oh, right, the Scourge. That thing. Bit of a mood killer.

1180– Twinborn! (Not sure if it's the boundary, though.) Edit: Oh, and shouldn't this be a confirmed boundary? Unless you can somehow have 1110.5 rep. Edit Again: Confirmed Boundary: Truthless begins at 980!

Hmm. Kaladin and Vin sounds good, but it is a little weighted to Kaladin even with Lerasium. Szeth v. Vin or Kelsier would be cool, but it might feel like a bit of a retread. I kinda want to see Vasher vs Szeth, both wielding Nightblood (no, don't ask how both could be using Nightblood at the same time), but again, retread.

For any cage match, I think it should be kinda assumed that neither side has Atium. If you allow Atium, you might as well allow Lerasium too, and then you have Szeth the mistborn. Sure, Szeth can get away easily, but he can't really do anything from there. Anything he lashes at TLR, he can dodge easily or simply tank through. And Szeth's stormlight usage is very inefficient, so TLR can literally just wait, maybe keeping up with Compounded Speed on the ground. But he definitely shouldn't fly after him: all Mistborn have very dedicated, predictable flight arcs compared to a Windrunner, and his Compounded speed means nothing up in the air. If he flies after Szeth he's a sitting duck. Try replacing Szeth with a full-on Radiant Windrunner or Stoneward– shapeshifting Blade, Plate, and all. That might fare a little better, though TLR is still OP.

Depends on how high the cut is and where his metalminds are. If he cuts the lower spine and his metalminds are on his upper torso, his arms, or his head, I think he could heal fast enough to get it before it reaches the head. But yeah, technically not all wounds, but all the ones that are likely to hit him. With Compounded Speed, it should be incredibly difficult to even graze him.

TLR. I made a few mathematical calculations that I think are fairly conclusive. Compounded Health+Pewter= Tanks through all attacks Compounded Speed+Pewter+Tin= Dodges all the rest Compounded Speed's momentum+Compounded Strength+Compounded Weight+ Reverse Compounded Pewter = Szeth-squishing Punches of Death Reverse Compounded Soothing+Reverse Compounded Rioting= Szeth scared to death Reverse Compounded Steel/Iron+Duralumin+Feruchemical nicrosil=Pushing on Shardblade like a boss
