  1. Just pointing out that if the Spiked take it as a given that Alv is going to get seeked, they might smoke him to waste the Seeker's scan. (I'm assuming that the Spiked have a Smoker, because they had 1 in LG1, and 2 in AG1, and see no reason why they wouldn't have one this time.)
  2. That is fair enough. I'd appreciate not getting coinshoted though, if you're not really sure. I'd sorta prefer to not die N2 twice in a row, if our coinshots are going to act on our night votes.
  3. This was the only post of my you commented on, I think, so I assume it is the root of your suspicions. "Well, at least we didn't lose any roles to the eliminators. " I could point you to previous games where I've said something similar (and usually got in trouble for it... I should really stop). It's always sorta annoying to die early in the game, and cycle 1 is sorta harsh. I like to comment on it, is all. "Yay for redundancy." It looked like you took that to say that I didn't think we needed two Tineye. On the contrary, I meant the exact opposite. The 'Yay' was genuine not sarcastic. Redundancy is a good thing, as it means if one fails, you have a backup. I guess people use 'redundant' in the sense of 'what's the point in having two?' That was not how I was using it. You mention that I don't discuss the Tineyes. I don't really care to know exactly who the Tineye's are, nor do I care to publicly discuss that, unless we were deciding to Lurch them. PMs are a valuable tool for the Village, and so I'd rather not help the Spiked out by discussing their identities in thread. So acknowledged their presence, and moved on. Finally, there's my vote on Lopen. In prior games, we've had been discussions about day one lynches and poke voting and the such like. In the past, people have just arbitrarily put poke votes on people. "I'm going to poke Gamma". That sorta thing. If you're lucky, you get them to post some nothingness, and that's that. So I try and make a point of asking the person I poke a question. I started with Lopen because he had yet to post in the AG, but had just posted in the MR, and he usually has something useful to say. Hopefully that addresses some of your concerns.
  4. I was considering voting on Jain, but after Hellscythe voted on him, I felt an extra would have been overkill. So I never actually placed a vote on Jain. My last vote was on Bort, which stayed put. Ooops... Missed Araris. So presumably either there's two soothers, or maybe Araris is a Rioter? And re: Rioters changing something to a No Vote, I would expect that they can't, because that is then essentially Soothing.
  5. @Hellscyhe: Why the suspicion on Mashadar? I was contemplating throwing a vote on Jain, but an extra vote now would be overkill. While I'm quite undecided about Kas at the moment (testing his Smokerness would help), I'd rather keep him around. I'd also prefer a buffer on our tineyes, if Wyrm is indeed a tineye.
  6. Alright, thank you Ada. @Kas: Sounds like a good idea. Speaking of testing smokers, if we're testing this other claim, it would be nice to test your own claim as well. Though I'm not really sure how to properly test all this. Can a rioter change a No-Vote to a vote? And Luckat's ideas seem good to me, for the moment. No complaints here. Bort. You said you'd be away for Christmas. You back yet? You've been on the Shard fairly recently, but no posts yet.
  7. I think I'm going to throw a vote on Adavantos. You've been quite a consistent contributer. Your one post this cycle seemed to imply you were planning on making another post, but you haven't yet. Life happens, but an update would be nice.
  8. I agree that they are not directly useful to the lynch discussion (well other than my initial prod at Lopen. But I wasn't aware of his circumstances at the time). They have been things I've been interested in and have some value for others, so I shared them. I'm still thinking some things over, and haven't decided what I think about Kas and Wyrm.
  9. Also, seeing as it has come up a few times, here are the distributions used by Meta previously: @Mail and Lopen: Thanks. So inactives who have given reasons: Lopen, Weiry, Phattemer(by extension Shallan? Though on rereading, it seems to say he should be able to post now...)
  10. We have yet to have posts since the game started from: Alvron - Last online today Bort - Last online today Elbereth - Last online today Edit: Has since posted Phattemer - Last online yesterday, posted in MR, citing family issues as reason for inactivity Sart - Last online yesterday Shallan - Last online a week ago Lopen - Posted yesterday, online today The list would increase if I ignored posts that did not contribute to the game discussion. @Hellscythe: Did you say that Lopen has been active in PMs?
  11. Well my vote was to encourage Lopen to post, but it's been almost a day, so I might shift it. Back when I work out what I want to do.
  12. See it could be Wyrm, or it could be someone else. We have a number of arty types around these parts and it could be one of them. I think I'd want Wyrm to weigh in on the matter.
  13. Dunno if I'll keep this up, but anyway: Quick Links: Player List: Now to read the writeup. Edit: Well, at least we didn't lose any roles to the eliminators. And we have at least two tineye. Yay for redundancy. So lets start up some discussion shall we? Lopen, you didn't seem to post in thread last cycle. Busy? Do you have any thoughts on how the village should make use of its roles?
  14. "I don't suppose your a fan of my work? I could offer things like inclusion in my latest novel, and early access to the final draft. Otherwise, it's going to take a few days to get the money together. I don't keep that amount on my person."Edrab stopped to listen as Lu addressed the village, nodding in agreement as she outlined some ideas on how to bolster their defence. When she was done, Edrab approached and shook her hand. "Thanks for your thoughts, Lu!"
  15. Fair enough, and thanks. If I decide it annoys me, then I'll just start doing a quick links post at start of cycle - rollover is convenient this time, so I'd be able to actually do so this time, if I wanted.
  16. So some questions: - The Smoker: He may choose a target each cycle. While burning copper, you and any target you may have are unaffected by emotional alomancy and are invisible to Seekers. Is that how the ability works? Do you burn by default? If you stop burning, do you have to specify when you want to start again? - Can there be multiple Tineyes? - To the people who have played this once or twice before have any advice for us first timers? Don't trust Claincy would have been relevant if he was playing, but he's not this time. I'm imagining PM safety is quite an important thing. I think it got the village in a bad place previously in the AG, and I don't think people have learnt their lesson yet - I understand that Burnt managed to get quite a few role claims in LG15. And remember that just because your role isn't as important as another, that doesn't make it safe to reveal it, as it'll help narrow down the other roles. Unless someone has been confirmed by a Seeker, analyse a players actions with the question Would this help them if they were an eliminator?' Paranoia is your friend.
  17. As it is, we have a bunch of different time zones represented, so don't be too concerned. But thanks for the heads up anyway!
