  1. 1) That would be awesome. Rotspren vs. Alespren Round 1 Fight. 2) I have often pondered this. I personally think that the blade would pass through you and you'd feel like someone was walking on your grave. That or it would act like a normal blade i.e. Radiants / Blade holders could do blood oaths. As an extension of this, say you had a shardblade and scored a hit on someones upper limb, would the next pass of the blade below the first hit sever it physically, or does the soul have to be completely removed for a Shardblade to cut flesh? 3) For my mind, assuming they are mirrored in Shadesmar, highstorms are the opposite to on Roshar. As in they suck towards the "origin" as opposed to blow. That said, as I am not that well versed in the Cosmere. I invite those who are to extrapolate for me on the following: If Shadesmar is the cognitive realm and a gateway between all the phyical realms, Scadrial, Sol, Roshar etc. If a highstorm in Roshar had a Shadesmar mirror, would this in turn have a physical effect on a Scadrial / Sol etc.? Edited for grandmothers
  2. Or his life as the Blackthorn in general.
  3. You could make an argument that growth is a time based surge. As in things grow (age) at a rapid rate or heal very quickly. Also, I have to disagree about temperature being a physical property. Heat (or the lack thereof) is the movement (and inherent energy) that molecules have and is not dependant on the molecules. Vis: At absolute zero, molecules have no motion. Heat capacity is a compounds ability to lose or gain heat and a physical property. That said, don't think it is likely to be the ninth surge. I like frequency / resonance for that.
  4. I am not alone then.
  5. Which would link us back to Warbreaker (colours) and breaths.
  6. Maybe I am geting my wires crossed. I was questioning whether picking up a Shardblade was enough to permenantly lighten your eye colour genetically, or whether a Nahal bond was required. I suppose we need a darkeyes to win and lose a shardblade (without their eyes being burned out) to know.
  7. Surprisingly, a picture of a Santhid.
  8. I am probably missing something but assuming that picking up a blade lightens your eye colour (unsubstantiated as far as I know - ref: conversation between Kal and Laral; (Debunked by WoB / Feverstone keep?)). Could that not be enough to change your sDNA (assuming this means surge/binding? DNA) for procreation purposes?
  9. Gold
  10. 1. I like. 2. Like even more +1. 3. Plausible. 4. Under the impression that Cultivation was still kicking around, could be right though. 5. I like. Still think Cusicesh is a sink hole / return valve for energy back to the origin. My very own unsubstantiated theory which I just made up. 6. Possible, could also be that the Parshendi are coming from the opposite side (western) of the plains (consequently they are more likely to die towards the middle) and the Chasmfiends / scavengers have nom nom nom's of the Parshendi corpses before they get to the Alethi side. 7. Unlikely, the chapter written from Eshoani's POV would indicate that the Parshendi were trying to stop the Everstorm. EDIT: Spelling and grammar modifications.
  11. +1 for the use of "unorganised string of unfalsifiable claims".
  12. We'll have to agree to disagree on that one. With existance there is hope however slim, without existance hope does not exist.
  13. The topic of Szeths free will got me thinking. He is honoring his commitment / paying for his crimes by performing this function, as much as he loathes it. Which then begs the question, if this is a job / function required by the Shin, as abhorrent as they feel it is, why do they need it/him? Thoughts? Could the Shin be acting in a balancing manner, i.e. there has been too long between desolations and Szeths true function is to speed the process up by setting loose a very effective killer? I am not suggesting that the Shin are Voidbringers or minions of Odium more like neutrals.
  14. I have always felt that Szeth is amongst, if not, the most honorable character(s) in SA, albeit in a non-traditional way. As stated by previous posters, he knows what he is doing and how it damns him, however, he is compelled by his religion and culture to act in this manner. At one point thought about how the alternative was oblivion (as opposed to an eternity of Heraldic time between desolations torture). As grim as that afterlife sounds, choosing to cease to exist (After your death) would require an incredible amount bravery or cowardice (depending on your viewpoint).
  15. If the Parshendi have a better oral / recorded history than the Alethi (which I have money on), they might have noted the increased Radiant (possibly Herald) actvity and know this preceeds their Gods.
  16. My point more eloquently put.
  17. Apologies, I haven't read Mistborn / Alloy of Law (on my to do list). I would answer your question thus. There are X number of shards. I have (a) Shard(s?). If I splinter the other Shards I become more powerful by virture of there are less Shards remaining. Given that Shards subvert your character, if you are happy with your character and do not want to change, this is an effctive means of "increasing" your power.
  18. Known: The number ten is significant on Roshar. Theory: The Everstorm is coming very soon as we are up to 99 odd. I say, nay. We need to wait a lot longer to get the Everstorm. 100 desolations, Ha! That is but ten ten's. The real everstorm will not occur until desolation 10,000,000,000 (10^10). Note that as an extra piece of "evidence" of this theory, if you split the notation into 1000's, there is a ten in front. I propose to you, ladies and gentlemen, who have stuck with the wild rambling of an unhinged mind this far, that this is the real reason the SA is being split into two five book series.
  19. With respect to Lamirils debt, I have no doubt that that would have been brought / inherited. Gaz' punishemnt It would very much depend on the person placing Gaz in servitude. It is as likely that whomever did it would want to use him for beatings and toilet cleaning duties. Areas in which his skill set is high.
  20. I have a tendency to look at names and decide on it's pronunciation REGARDLESS of how it is spelt Numuhukumakiaki'aialunamor (Rock's real name) Rock Jah Keved Jah Ka Ved Szeth Seth Taravangian The King of Karbranth Aimia Ah mee Ah Sadeas Sa dee as
