  1. In this game, for me, when someone chooses to agree with a scan it still says something about them, since the scans themselves are not perfectly reliable, which has been well demonstrated. It isn't so much that you trusted Kipper as that you were willing to lynch Meta as a result. Its more of a "you are on my radar" thing than me wanting to lynch you right now. Also, the SK, at least as it has been implemented before, is its own faction. That's why the SK role is in purple on the rules page; it is a separate faction, so it wouldn't lead to an extra kill for the eliminators. And the SK would have no way to reveal the eliminator team without betraying his own identity, so it wouldn't break the game to have an evil SK. I'm gonna leave my vote on Burnt for now, although that is so that if phatt comes on and he wants to, he can tie. I feel like now that the SK is out, we should try and get people to stop searching for items during the day and have everyone vote, to force the SK to kill at night or reveal him/herself. That way protect roles will actually be able to block the SK kill.
  2. On the topic of the serial killer, there isn't really much we can do to "focus" on them. I mean, how do we deal with the eliminators? We look for discrepancies in how they act and which players they defend/attack and so forth. Info roles help, but most of it comes from looking at connections between players. The SK has none of that. So we can't exactly do anything except hope that maybe they get hit by another kill or a lucky lynch, or that an info role discovers them. Consequently, I am a bit suspicious of Burnt for making this topic the subject of such a long post. That suspicion is mildly decreased by the scan results, but we can't really trust those too far as we have seen. I'm a little suspect of phatt right now, but not enough to warrant a lynch. I am also suspicious of Mark. You were involved in Meta's lynch earlier, if I recall correctly, although I need to go back and reread the first couple cycles. Additionally, I have no idea how you went from Shallan has bloodties to Phatt is the SK. I don't know if secret bloodties is revealed upon death, but even if Shallan is the only person that could have been the other bloodties role, it doesn't hold that the two are on the same team, so there would be no reason for them to work together. Phatt is a possible SK for sure, but I don't consider there to be enough evidence against him for something like that at this point.
  3. 1/4 traitor scan *.5 noblind 1/4 traitor scan *.5 blind * 1/4 traitor 3/4 no traitor *.5 blind * 1/4 traitor These are the only ways for a note to come up as being a traitor, if it is revealed truthfully (ignoring side roles, items and misdirection). So there is a 5/8 chance that Elbereth is actually an eliminator, assuming that the note is true. This is a heck of a lot better than the 25% chance that I assume in my calculations. I'll look at what Elbereth has actually said/done, but I am leaning toward placing my vote there purely off of probability.
  4. When you dedicate your weekend to learning the thermodynamics of a bathtub.
  5. Well, I'm going to get my voice and my vote out now, so just in case I am lazy or something it at least gives you all a read on me. For now at least, my vote is on Kipper. I think that his reaction to Meta's pre-death claims in addition to him being the one that instigated the whole thing, followed by the note about him the next cycle makes him the largest suspect.
  6. I'm gonna finalize my vote on Kipper, mostly because I find his reaction to Meta's reveal to be more incriminating than anything any other player has done. I am not sure what the tally will come out to, but I think that we did a bad job of getting locked into a single mindset and not discussing much outside the results of our info roles. While they are important, the amount of misdirection that can happen this game means that we also need to look at how discussion is occurring, and I think that I and others did a poor job of that this cycle.
  7. Adavantos. First of all, I did not see that you made such a claim, phatt. I'm interested why you haven't brought that up earlier, since before your previous post Mailliw and I had voted for Ada. I was also hoping that possibly someone else would have a good reason to vote for Ada. I was out of time at the moment and his reaction to Mark's posts seemed like a decent reason for me to go place a vote. I should be back toward the end of the cycle to place my final vote.
  8. Wow, phatt... I guess you were right cycle one about Shallan haha. My thoughts on this whole thing are still somewhat half-formed, but I'll see what I can come up with. I would like to put it out there that I think the easiest solution to this all is a Mirror/Performer. I am a little confused by how much information has been made public this game, and also by how some things are consistent but others aren't. So both Meta and Kipper are claimed Beggars, and they claim innocent. In both cases a snitch note picks them as Beggars, but evil. So if there is an evil beggar, it seems quite easy to explain that both players being scanned got redirected to the same Evil Beggar by a Mirror/Performer. With the eliminators being able to coordinate their items it is likely that they were able to assemble something by now, so this doesn't seem like too much of a stretch to me. But, basically, there is a good reason not to do a follow the cop type of thing in this game, because of blindness and liars and mirrors and any hidden roles we haven't accounted for. That being said, anything gained from info roles is still useful. Lets see: Assumption 1: Shallan is a non Blind Snitch that targetted Kipper and sent the note to Phatt. This is fairly reasonable, since people talked about scanning Kipper last cycle Assumption 2: That note read Beggar. This also seems somewhat likely since Kipper admitted he is a beggar Assumption(s) 3: Kipper is a Beggar, Kipper is a Beggar with CL, or we have interference by Mirror/Street Performer This doesn't really say much new except that it discounts hidden roles. I don't know quite how the redirection roles work, but I assume that they override blindness in this post. I really don't know what to think of Kipper. I am leaning a bit toward his guilt right now based off how he reacted to Meta's "reveal" last cycle, but I also want to watch discussion a bit more. I will note that I am not going to search this cycle, so my vote is going to count. I'm actually going to vote for Ada for now. I don't like how you disregarded what Mark said about missing the turnover. I did something very similar (missing the turnover), and find it in pretty bad taste to lie about inactivity and IRL sorts of things, partly because I give those sorts of excuses every other game or so. And I'll be back tomorrow to give some more input on the situation.
  9. I am sorry for my absence last cycle, I was keeping up with the thread but I just didn't get around to posting. It was more of a laziness thing than anything else. However, I would like to point out that I had the thread open a lot and this is the first time I have seen anything about a reveal from Meta about being evil. During next cycle I have almost zero responsibilities IRL, so if I don't make a substantial post then please lynch me.
  10. Calamity! With Nightwielder gone, a person couldn't stay up all night and pretend that they were on a perfectly normal sleep schedule. Allen was having a hard time figuring out when exactly sleep was supposed to happen. Hey Alvron, what is the cycle end time? Or could we possibly get one of those nifty timer things people have been using recently? Since he obviously wasn't going to get quality sleep anytime soon, Allen left his room to meet with the other gang members. A few lounged around, exchanging comments (both harmless and vicious), but for the most part people were silent. A rival gang was threatening to steal Allen's room, and nobody was doing anything about it! "Ok people, listen up! You know my reputation, so if you don't start talking a bit more, heads might start flying." Allen turned to leave the room, then paused, remembering something. "Hey, Exisa, you've been talking a bit, but I still haven't heard you elaborate on why Citona is less guilty than Rance for not speaking up... Just saying, is all."
  11. I'm actually a bit suspect of phatt right now. If you are going to place a poke vote, then one target is as good as the next, and no one person is more or less likely to get a strong role. So I find it strange that you are letting something (that the eliminators orchestrated, no less) from two LGs ago influence what (in my opinion) is an arbitrary poke vote. I would also like to hear more from STINK, since he clearly was here but didn't contribute to discussion much. - Allen lay dazzled for a while in the wake of the explosion. Was it really worth it to get up? Like as not the gang would decide that he was guilty of some crime, or some new gang would kill him in a power play. Life... just didn't hold much these days. Not like it once had, at least. There was no beauty in the Steel Catacombs, no safety. Eventually Allen climbed to his feet and wandered away to his room. It had been hard to secure a place for himself to be alone in a gang where silence could spell death. When he first found the small room, two gang memebers had been arguing outside. As Allen had turned to leave, gunshots echoed through the corridor, and he turned to see both men fall dead to the ground. Everyone had assumed that he was responsible, so they left him alone now. Which suited Allen just fine.
  12. It is a bit unfortunate that Mailliw survived the lynch last cycle, regardless of his alignment, because that means that we will probably just end up lynching him again at some point. But I don't really have a strong opinion about him since I missed out on a lot of discussion the last two cycles. I am still suspicious of Elkanah for the reasons that I stated yesterday, but I am going to vote for BB right now. I would like to put a little pressure behind the questions Kamyle asked, specifically because it seems like you were looking for a way to pin down a lynch on specific people based on roles rather than behavior, which I personally don't like.
  13. Ok guys, sorry for how inactive I've been so far. I had some IRL things come up this weekend and I really only have time right now to post my thoughts. Since this is a QF, I don't find it particularly suspicious that we lynched a villager or which people were involved in the Day 1 lynch. Especially because of how it is fairy easy to lynch Venture due to his activity. So if I did have any suspicions they would probably fall on Orlok for giving an easy out with the lynch. However, I find it a bit more likely that the Reckoners just let us lynch a villager for free. I guess my vote will go on Elkanah, since Orlok started the votes on Annax, not BB, and that has already been brought up, so I find it a little suspicious that you were willing to place a vote without checking on your info first. And as a warning, I will not be able to retract this post before the cycle ends, so consider it my final vote.
  14. Well, thank you for running the game Wilson! I'm a bit sad that the first night that I failed to steal a protection role was also the night I got targeted, but there wasn't too much I could have done about that. Overall, I don't think that the teams were imbalanced, there was just a big pile of inactive players for a while. I think the game might have benefited from either a method to kill inactives easily/automatically, or if the game had just stopped for a while over Christmas. Because I think inactivity is becoming a larger issue in these games than it has been in the past, and it makes teams really hard to balance.
  15. I kind of agree with Aonar as far as RP goes. Having characters that die off every 4 weeks does make it a little hard to get to know them very well. It might be a little easier to get RP out of people if you increased the number of public actions to 2 each turn. Most of my RP has just been for my actions anyways, and it has been incentive for me to make pretty much all of them public. As for Wealth, I actually found myself struggling to get rid of it for a while. I am not sure that there are actions that are really expensive enough when you have a lot of income. There is the donation mechanic, which those players can use much more successfully than the players that are struggling to get wealth. Removing upgraded properties seems fine to me, and I don't really like having .5 increments of things to deal with. Perhaps, instead of boosting production, upgrades could become more of a flavor thing, with secondary benefits the player has to explain within their action. For example, an upgraded lumber mill could choose to specialize in hardwood for weapons, or something that smells nice to make better furniture. I think that this might be a good way to deal with all of the people that have already gone and upgraded things. One thing that seems we could use to balance out Wealth is to have not every House have a Keep, and have the Keep be something you have to pay for, rather than getting it automatically. In the books, being a Great House required a lot of wealth to pay for a "Keep Tax," so we could implement something like that.
