Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Araris Valerian Here, if you couldn't tell. Aralis glanced at the man in the red uniform. "You do realize that without killing Rotiart, your hypothetical scenario doesn't hold any ash?" As he said that, he glanced at the Professor. He wasn't quite sure, but something seemed a bit off about that man as well. Then Aralis turned towards another man. Something in his head thought "potato," but that was nonsense. Even somebody that believed in Koloss would agree that people can't be potatoes. "Nightspud! You were one of those young fools that kept talking about exploring the House yesterday but never said anything helpful. Why shouldn't we hang you today?" My vote is on Assassin in Burgundy, AKA Ookla the Colorful, for those people that don't want to bother checking lists that are elsewhere.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Aralis shook his head at the crowd around the Doctor's corpse. Aralis didn't know much about the fellow, and certainly couldn't have contributed to his defense. But there were other much more... expendable people in the party. Had Rotiart been any different, Aralis might have tried to use what little influence he had to try and change things around. Some folks in the crowd were coming to some odd conclusions, but at least they were being vocal about them. It was the people with sensible ideas and no good reasoning that you had to watch out for. Those were the type of people that would tell you that all the deaths in the night were caused by the House, and then not mention their own involvement. Aralis decided he would voice his thoughts, for whoever might be listening. "Okay, so I'm an old man, and don't change my mind much. That Quintus fellow still seems like a dishonest fellow to me. Also, all of you folks that were talking about exploring during the day, go bugger off. Don't waste my time when we have the whole night to do that sort of thing. I think one of you should be in that chair tomorrow. I'm off to see if I can find my rocker again, seeing as doing the same thing is bound to produce different results in this place. Good night!"- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Elenion, you've posted a couple of times now, could you put a vote down on somebody please? We are over halfway through the cycle, and have very few votes out right now, especially for a game this large. It's bad if all the voting happens at the end of the cycle, especially for people that are busy and are only able to view the thread once or twice during the day.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Wonko, that was a troll post. Read this first. Then this. I'm not really up to writing RP right now, but I think people are wasting time talking about next night cycle right now. Sure, there might be some justification to that if people are planning on sending orders at the start of night and then going inactive, but right now our focus should be on the lynch. Also, this is a 35 player game, so I'm pretty sure we can handle 6 eliminators. Daniyah, your posts haven't indicated anything about your suspicions, and aren't super relevant until we get to the night cycle. If you could pick somebody right now to kill, who would it be?- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Aralis set down his book and looked up from his rocking chair. "Well, you all know that I said we should get rid of that Quintus fellow yesterday. Stands to reason that I agree with the folks that don't like him much. Somebody's brain has gone to mists, and if I'm going to enjoy that porch we need to find out who. If anybody has a better way that killing folks, speak up now." With that, Aralis went back to his book in a way that suggested anyone that disturbed him would be in for a Thwacking.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Just start killing people. Since you are a villager, your actions don't have the same organization as the eliminators. So vote, and be willing to change your vote based on thread discussion. Don't be afraid of killing people with useful roles, and maybe have some fun with RP on the side. If you have an RP character that you are invested in, it is a lot easier to follow a game. I'm nowhere near as comfortable as other folks here with coming up with personalities, but I've had a lot of fun with Aralis, especially last AG. On that note: Aralis wandered around the House in search of a chair. Since the House seemed unwilling to stick to a floor plan, he tried to follow roughly the same path he had taken the night before. After all, if the House was changing, and he was changing paths, they might cancel each other out, and that would mean he would find the Library again. People these days just don't make houses they way they used. Libraries always should have a nice place to sit down and bother youngsters that make too much noise. As he was thinking, Aralis noticed a glass door leading off the hallway he was in. And right outside the door was a rocking chair, on a porch! Suddenly, Aralis's legs began to ache at the sight, and he leaned more heavily on his walking stick to stay upright. Unfortunately, the door wouldn't open. It wasn't locked, just stuck. Well, Aralis had dealth with stubborn people before, a door wasn't all that different. He imagined a fellow he had met once, named Rent, was right where the door was, in between Aralis and his porch. Then he hefted his stick and gave the fellow a THWACK upside the head. A different sort of noise reverberated through the House, and Aralis was brought back to the present. Bother. The door seemed to be on par with Aralis's stubbornness. Well, now I have an incentive to see this whole bothering thing through. That is quite a fine porch, and I bet nobody could find me and bother me there.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Well, I'm going to switch my vote from Bugsy to Jondesu. The merits of Day 1 lynches have been discussed untold numbers of times, and I figure I can get behind a lynch on a player that is hedging/against a lynch.- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I found books! You have found Books and gained the role Cynic. If you discover an Omen, nothing happens. Aralis had found lots of books, which would have been fine, except he hadn't found a single comfy chair! "Okay everybody, it seems that at least two of us are up to something, and I don't like it. Reminds me of this time I was in a village, and people kept telling me monsters were going to invade. Bugsy, you seem like a young enough fellow to get into trouble, what do you have to say about all this nonsense?"- 980 replies

Long Game 28: The Awakening at the House on the Hill
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Aralis glared at Kather's back as then man went looking for his key. He clearly had as little idea of what was going on in this House as anyone else did. And now that the door was locked, Aralis couldn't go sit out on the porch. That was the only reason Aralis had come along in the first place. There was no point in having a mansion except that they had rusting huge porches. After pondering what to do for a minute, Aralis grabbed his walking stick and headed off in search of the most comfortable rocking chair in the building. If he couldn't sit outside and enjoy the night air, he would have the next best thing.- 980 replies

I'm okay with that. Although I'm a bit sad that I just survived 2 games in a row... -

I'll vote for Silverblade, since we need to kill somebody, and I'm the only active player so far as I can see. -

I think I'll vote for Aonar here. I'm honestly rather fond of the Luggage, and don't want it to die just yet. -

I'd like to sign up as Aralis, but I will be on a train the 19th and unable to use internet, so I will be inactive for about 32 hours or so in there.- 980 replies

Sure. I totally see no reason that trusting you would be a bad idea, Aman. Burnt. PK. -

Yeah, mine was 1500. I invested a little in that at the start of the game, but I didn't start as Mistborn and I had a few cycles I didn't get around to marrying my heir actively. Beyond that, I never took advantage of the Wilson Marriage Service.- 868 replies

Long Game 27: Strife in Ankh Morpork
Araris Valerian replied to Young Bard's topic in Sanderson Elimination
PK, at least I am voting. There are two ways I see the lynch resolving; I die, in which case I get closer to beating Mailliw's death rate, or I kill somebody that isn't me, which gets me one step closer to winning the game. But both of those require that that actually be a lynch. -

I was never told about any breakins . My security wasn't ever that great, since I was hoping to avoid all of the inter-House politics and thus not have to spend resources on that sort of thing. I did get an offer, I think from an Izenry, to assist him in overthrowing the heir to his House. But I just killed him, and that was probably the most involved I was in any politicking.- 868 replies

Wow, this game is turning out to be rather lopsided, haha. Well, why don't we kill Burnt this cycle? Edit: How does bidding work? I didn't see it in the rules anywhere? -
Heirs to the Final Empire: Roleplaying Thread
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Inactive RPs
Haha, well played fellow Great Houses, and thank you a lot for running this Wyrm! I didn't see direct play to player conflict as a part of this game (which it clearly was), so I didn't invest in intrigue really at all. And I got burned pretty badly a couple of times, once because I sent in unclear orders to Wyrm :/. Still, it was fun to try and balance between a loyalty to TLR and having skaa on my side. I was legitimately surprised that the skaa rebellion wasn't supporting me, considering my House's reputation, and the 3 kandra I had among their ranks. They were supposed to attack Wilson there at the end...- 868 replies

Heirs to the Final Empire: Roleplaying Thread
Araris Valerian replied to Wyrmhero's topic in Inactive RPs
Bother. I greatly apologize for not getting actions in; I had a retreat this weekend and it totally left my mind. Missive to Lord Izenry: I seriously doubt most of the claims you make. But that is beside the point. What of the oaths the founders of our Houses made, oaths to serve the Lord Ruler in his new world? Despite all the conflicts House Penrod has had with the Lord Ruler, it will not sway from its original purpose. While your mind is clearly made on the issue, I still urge you to abandon this course of action. Even if the Lord Ruler could be killed, how would that make the world a better place? No, it is evident from the histories that House Penrod has kept over the last 1000 years that the nobility will tear each other apart if the Lord Ruler falls. The only "gods" we would have would be those that rule over the dead. Know that you will have no support from us during this time. Allriane Penrod Actions:- 868 replies

Long Game 27: Strife in Ankh Morpork
Araris Valerian replied to Young Bard's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I haven't been following super well, so I don't have all the intricacies of the rules down. I don't particularly want Luckat dead, but nobody else was voting, and that was the best reason I could come up with in under 5 minutes. Besides, I'm not the kind of person that jumps my vote around all over everywhere. I'm going to hold off on any changes for now. -

Yeah, but people might follow the recommendations and offer that much to the assassins. And we have to kill somebody. -

Why don't we kill Luckat? I would really prefer if nobody actually paid the assassins 200 money, and she hasn't been active so far as I can tell. -

Apologies for not participating more folks. I'll make sure to help kill somebody next cycle. Probably one of the PM folks, since I don't like PMs all that much and would prefer a more active thread.
