  1. @Jondesu: I don't see any reason to vote on Flash. It's his second game, he got a cool role, and he's frustrated that he can't use it. I think that's all this situation boils down to. The people trying to take advantage of it are the ones that I'm suspicious of, you included. @The Flash: Just because you are village doesn't mean that your opinions are right. It just means they aren't biased against the village. I believe that you are mistborn, since if Orlok or a village captain did detain you, it would be easy for him to say that you didn't have all the vials like a mistborn should.
  2. Well, I have to say that I am rather disappointed in the votes this cycle. Three votes on somebody with a helpful role because they targeted a suspicious person with their ability? Especially early in the cycle before there has been any time for said person to hear what has been said about them? Also, Flash, while you can afford to be frank, the only people that can afford to believe you are the Venture Agents, since only they can be confident that you aren't on their team. I'm going to vote on _Stick_ since he isn't frustrated like Flash is, and thus should have thought through his vote better. He was also part of the pointless bandwagon on Dalinar last cycle.
  3. I feel like it's a little rude to kill somebody that doesn't have computer access to respond to accusations, which Dalinar said was his situation.
  4. Hadrian scowled. He had spent so long writing accounts of the events here in House Conrad that he had forgotten to participate in the day's discussion. However, it seemed to him that the place to start was with what he knew. Booken was innocent, and he was a pretty clear target for any Venture agents to take out without garnering suspicion. In his opinion, the people that went after him would be the place to start looking for any spies. Valbar had pointed out that Mila both accused Booken, and failed to realize that the Venture agents withheld their knife during the first night. Now, it stood to reason that country nobles wouldn't be nearly as competent as those from the city. But such incompetence could also be a disguise for a Venture agent, who would be expected to move fluidly through social circles. "I say that Mila is a spy."
  5. Hadrian woke up. That was good, it meant that nobody had figured out quite yet that he was from the wrong House. He had, however, slept through most of the day, and had to catch up on the day's events by gathering snippets of other conversations. It appeared that two facts stoop out among the rest. Booken had been detained, and the Venture spies had failed to use the cover of night to remove some of their opposition. Now, one would think that the best way to kill a group of people that you infiltrated would be to, well, kill them. Especially at night, in the dark, when nobody would be the wiser. So then it stood to reason that there was something that caused the Venture agents not to act. It made the most sense that Booken had been chosen to remove somebody, but being detained, that person would live another day while instead, Booken would die. Perhaps the only other scenario that made sense was that the Venture agents suspected somebody would be detained, and thus withheld their knife in order to cast suspicion upon both the captain and the detainee. But, Hadrian doubted that such a convoluted plot would be attempted. Knives were so much easier to wield than the anger of a mob.
  6. Bother, Hadrian thought to himself, I guess I got on the wrong canalboat. This was supposed to be House Penrod. I suppose if there are traitors running around, I shouldn't mention that I'm not from House Conrad. "Hello, my name is Hadrian Conrad, professional nobleman and historian. Let's get things settled here fast so I have something interesting to write about."
  7. Y'know, school just ended, and I think I'm up for this. I'll be Hadrian Penrod. Maybe I'll get hemalurgic spikes in all the powers as a Mistborn and ascend to Ruin.
  8. I'm feeling pretty sick right now, so I'm not going to be able to contribute much. Hopefully this weekend will give me some time to catch up on this. I will vote on Elenion if people want to try emotional allomancy on me.
  9. I would like to mention that if there is a coinshot in this game, it is possible for the Inquisitor to convert them. So multiple thugs might exist to balance that possibility. I don't really like lynching people based on a theoretical role distribution, unless it's something like Seeker that seriously changes the game balance. GMs around here like to troll with their role distributions sometimes.
  10. I don't really see too much reason to lynch Aonar, since he's just being himself. And actually, Hero's comment that people are trying to avoid lynching Kipper makes pretty good sense to me.
  11. HH. New vote on Ecthelion, since he is ignoring my pings and refuses to answer my question.
  12. I'm going to vote on HH. I don't have strong feelings about anyone else up for a lynch, and discussion isn't great. I'm also too busy to generate my own discussion currently. @Ecthelion III, you've voted now, but you didn't answer my question. What is your interpretation of the previous day's events?
  13. @Ecthelion III: Why do you think something was up with the lynch last cycle? The way I see it, we had a village bandwagon on a villager. Then, Wilson voted on me, Drake followed to save himself, and two of the bandwagoners were true to their nature. If we have any coinshots, I would really like it if they could kill HH and Arinian. I think they are village likely, so we shouldn't waste a lynch on them, but they are currently more harmful than helpful. @Herowannabe: I pinged Meta a while back and didn't hear from him. I'd bet some sort of RL thing has come up for him. He was online during the Night, so he could be the inquisitor. But Meta has been very vocal against inactivity, so I really doubt he would resort to going totally inactive to avoid suspicion. And I don't really have a vote right now that would really add to the discussion, so I'll work on that and probably vote on somebody this evening.
  14. Well, guys, I'm not at all sure that changing the bandwagon from Drake to me is really accomplishing anything. At least from the perspective of my last post, we still don't have a wide range of players that have their lives at risk. What I was trying to say is that if, say, 10 players have votes on them, and there isn't a bandwagon, then the eliminators likely will have to use their own votes to protect their lives. The idea is to force them to have to do something solid. I tried to contribute in this fashion by voting for Elenion, and I have a real, non-gut reason for that vote. Of the players voting on me, I don't mind Wilson or Drake's votes. I should probably be posting a bit more while classes are going slow, and at this point in the game self-preservation is a decent motive for a vote. But the Aralis in me really wants to whack HH and Arinian upside the head. Why don't we just kill both of them and have an end to this pointless bandwagoning? I would have responded to Wilson's single vote, so 4 is a bit overkill. If the idea is to kill players that are paying attention but being unhelpful. both of them are perfectly valid options.
  15. The thing is, there isn't really a reason for the inquisitor or their teammate to have gotten involved at this point unless one of them was at risk of being lynched. I'm more of the opinion that we don't really that that much more to go off of than we did during Day 1. The problem with a bandwagon like this is it lets the elims know early on in the cycle if they need to bother with being involved heavily in the lynch. When we have several candidates, then it's much more likely that we will force them to try act directly in their own interests rather than let us kill each other. So basically, I don't think anybody in the bandwagon is evil, but I also think that it's fairly counterproductive to centralize discussion like that with only 2 evil players.
  16. Okay guys, I have been watching the thread. My first comment is that my reason for voting on Elenion still stands. I found his nighttime aggression to be unwarranted. On the matter of Drake, I'm not convinced. Actually, I was buying his suspicion of Wilson until he brought up her reputation. I think the point about her activity matching AG3 is a good one, and I'll keep my eye on her. But I feel like Wilson is too much of a wildcard player both in terms of her current playstyle and her likelihood to be lynched based on reputation that she would get converted right now. Or basically, I don't want to make reputation lynches really at all, and especially not this early in the game. @Metacognition, where are you?
  17. Well, I went to the trouble of explaining why I don't want to explain myself to others, and then you show up... I'm great at timing these things. It's because you were kind of aggressive towards Ecthelion last night.
  18. @randuir I don't know that it would be helpful for the village for me to give my reason. I'd rather wait and see what other people have to say before I try and convince them that I'm right, and it's a somewhat minor thing that just happens to be the best I've got right now.
  19. I don't know about you guys, but it has never gone well in my experience for anyone making a deal with Aman. I'm not surprised at all that he is dead, although I am a bit surprised that he wasn't as thug or had some other way to survive the attack. Also, I'll put my vote on Elenion for now.
  20. Wol rubbed his head. This reminds me of the time my great-uncle Percy cooked dinner for the family. Everybody had a headache for a solid week afterwards. Well, I'm here, and I'm following people's posts. I tentatively agree with not lynching anybody today, although I'm a bit worried that we will be in a somewhat similar situation the next day. So regardless of the results of this lynch and the night, I think we need to kill somebody the next day. And PM safety. Don't forget that.
  21. I'm going to sign up as Wol. He has an annoying tendency to talk about his family history when it isn't really relevant.
  22. I think I'll ask for a spec doc link. Too much life right now for a complicated SE game.
  23. @Metacognition, you spelled Aralis' name wrong in the writeup :). I have to say that I really enjoyed this game, just like the other AGs. I found it fun to be on a team where there was a bit of suspense around what our capabilities would be each cycle. I also enjoyed being in a game where there weren't really any lynches done based on reputation. I think Wilson got to survive on of her first games in a long while, and she is always fun to play with regardless of alignment. The game did bog down a bit with some inactivity, but I was impressed with Orlok and Elbereth for coming back and nearly turning the tides of the game. I guess that shows that the Contribution Crusade is worth pursuing regardless of alignment For CR, I would have to vote for Madagascar, and also for Sart. It was nice to have a second crazy person in the village to counterbalance Aralis, and I applaud Seonid for keeping up his High Imperial. Thank you for GMing once again Meta, and I'm already looking forward to next year!
  24. Well, I don't have anything in particular against STINK that doesn't also hold for Conquestor, so sure (also lynching a Thug at this point seems like a somewhat bad idea).
