Yeah I hear ya Sunbird-but since I'm rereading for the umpteenth time in anticipation of Oathbringer I thought it might be fun to have a specific appropriate playlist...maybe it's just me. If not- suggestions welcome! I can't be the only one? Yes? No? While I don't think Kandra and Parshendi are examples..I do think there is/was an opposing force to adonalsium....infact i vaguely remember some discussion of this here. either wob or q/a or a thread - can't remember the details though it was awhile ago that i came across it. If i vaguely recall it being hinted at that perhaps Adonalsium was not the only significant source of power in the universe....but maybe I am misremembering....

I also thought that in his case the boon and curse were the same as you say. Very tidy.

I'm interested at the moment on how belief, observation and perception influence spren and magic on Roshar and how that relates to the physics of it as we saw in the scholars part...and Parshendi Ok since Iron Eyes is asking for you I am trying to frame a question around observation/perception/belief. But I am having troubles.... Robot Aztec - I will try and get that in but since I haven't reread ahead (didn't know I'd be able to go) and haven't read SoS yet you will have to refresh me on that - feel free to inbox me - as to what you are getting at and I will be happy to ask if I can get more than one or two in! Rather than FTL communication I thought it could also apply to the link/connection between objects in the physical realm and the cognitive realm. How the state of things in one realm immediately effect their counterpart in another- i.e. Stick! That and how particles are trapped in the diamond made me think of spren trapped in gem hearts. It (for me) offered possible real world parallel explanations to how some systems might logically work on Roshar. It made things make more sense for me anyway - milage may vary!

My guess is it has to do with the appearance of Taln or as some theorize - fake taln. Hoid either has something to do with the release of the real taln or the creation of he who thinks he is taln.

For some reason I had assumed that yes- the compassionate but drooling person he becomes is the one who will save - or at least be instrumental in helping to save, along with our favorite KRs - everything. That ultimately Odium himself (or maybe his champion) will need someone to have that much compassion for him. The only one who might be able to sincerely muster enough compassion for Odium/Odium's champion that it will save everyone from such hatred (including maybe even Odium himself) might be T in this state - where he feels compassion for everyone no matter how hateful. *sing to "all we need is love"* yes, I know, this is probably too corny a possibility and therefore unlikely....

I interpreted that (and I'm probably wrong) as him saying the blades might not have been swapped at all - it isn't taln so he never had an honor blade. Which is why I thought other heralds would not be fooled. If it is not Taln I'm not sure who is supposed to be duped here - just the Alethi?
