  1. The Easter egg was solved on page 31 of this thread.
  2. It's going to be two 5-book series with the 2nd quintet taking place years (70 years?) after the first quintet, so maybe you could say it's 5 books instead of 10 books. That way they will be less intimidated. Kind of like Mistborn is going to be 9 books, but it's really 3 trilogys set centuries apart.
  3. Terris 9 Herdaz 22 Hallendren 11
  4. Have you finished WoR yet? It will really blow your mind.
  5. Nice! You can add it to your collection of stuffed chasm fiends.
  6. Welcome, to the forums. Don't take the donuts or cookies; they're spiked.
  7. I can offer you a stick!
  8. Thanks, I can only assume that once your reputation reached 10,000, you become a "Stick!" right?
  9. So, in the SA forum we were hit with a spam-bot pretty hard yesterday. I down-voted as much as I could and noticed that the negative reputation became negaspren at one point (followed by lifeless by the way). So, what is a negaspren? Do you think we'll see one in the books or is it just a clever ploy on words for the forum?
  10. Upvote for the word "Partshendi." I love it!
  11. What if the Parshendi are the 50/50 hybrid and some other creature is the 100% pure Rosharin creature. Wild speculation here, but for example, maybe the chasmfiends are 100% pure. This obviously rules out natural breeding.
  12. Wheel of Time does a descent job of explaining things once you get into it. It started out a bit slow for me too, but if you can make it to about page 80, it gets really good and doesn't stop. You did start with The Eye of the World right? Some people complain that it's slow towards the middle of the series, but if your expectations are such, it's still very good - especially the last 3 books . Some books just don't do it for some people though. I personally could never make it through Lord of the Rings. I know it's a good story, but it bored me to tears. I recommend you read Mistborn and the rest of the Cosmere books, then give Wheel of Time another shot.
  13. Just copied this from my last intro post! Any of these are good. The first 3 Mistborn books are a completed series. Cosmere Novels: You've already read Stormlight Archive, which you know had to be read in order (Way of Kings, Words of Radiance). You can read Warbreaker as a stand-alone novel. Read Szeth's last scene from WoR again before/after reading Warbreaker. Elantris should probably be read before Emperor's Soul, but it's not essential. This is Brandon's first published book and I enjoyed it a lot, though don't expect it to be as good as SA. The Mistborn series should be read in order (The Final Empire, The Well of Ascension, The Hero of Ages) followed by The Allow of Law which takes place a few hundred years after the first trilogy. Mistborn is my favorite series behind Stormlight Archive. Non-Cosmere Novels: Steelheart should be read before the new Firefight novel. The Rithmatist can be read as a stand-alone novel. I haven't read the Alcatraz or Infinity Blade books yet, so I'll have to bow to the wisdom of others there. The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan and finished by Brandon Sanderson is another 14-book series (it's completed) that will keep you occupied for a while and is extremely good. It must be read in order and starts with The Eye of the World.
  14. I don't think they would run out of stormlight any faster. They would have access to all ten surges, but not necessarily have to use them all at the same time. They would consume stormlight just as fast as a regular surgebinder for the particular surge they are using at the time. Now in the case of using more than 1 surge at the same time, then yes, it would consume stormlight faster, I assume. I don't think this would work since surgbinding powers come from spren and spiking someone doesn't affect the spren. Could you somehow spike a spren while in Shadesmar to accomplish this?
  15. Really any of them are good, but like others before me, I recommend his Cosmere books first. Cosmere Novels: You've already read Stormlight Archive, which you know had to be read in order (Way of Kings, Words of Radiance). You can read Warbreaker as a stand-alone novel. 16. Minor Mistborn spoilers:
  17. Well, I consider myself very privileged to have received an e-mail back from Brandon within 24 hours and got White Sands and Aether of Night . I realize they are rough drafts and not canon but I'm still so excited. I also bought the two anthologies on Kindle ($10 each). Now I believe my collection is complete. I just have a lot of reading to do. I know what I'm doing tonight after work! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction everyone.
  18. Thanks everybody. I'm not only interested in Cosmere stories, so the other links/recommendations help too. I'll e-mail Brandon about the two books Nait Sabes mentioned. I think it's awesome how connected Brandon is with his readers.
  19. I've read all the main Cosmere book - Stormlight Archive, Mistborn, Warbreaker, Elantris/Emperor's Soul. What are all the other possible books/stories out there and where can I get them? Even if they aren't cannon, I'm interested. Sorry if this is in another topic, but I didn't want to read anything else in this subforum for fear of spoilers.
  20. Can we think of a wish, that doesn't have a loophole, where the curse doesn't matter? Like if I asked for the boon of eternal happiness - no matter what my curse was, I'd still be happy.
  21. It might just be coincidence, but the Ars Arcanum in the audiobook version is read by a woman (Kate Reading). This leads me to speculate that it is "written" by a woman. Possibly Khriss or whoever Nazh is working for. Also, it would make sense for "the most Cosmere aware" person to write this.
  22. I would take immortality as long as I could include my loved ones in the package (after all, many Christians, including myself, believe in an eternal afterlife - or immortality).
  23. Well, I understand wanting a personalized copy. He lists other websites on his Blog as a place to buy his books though. He still gets money from those sales. Also, if you're looking to resell someday (I never would, but some people might), a personalized copy is not as valuable. As far as getting questions answered, that's a reason to buy about 10 of them!
  24. You can get signed copies from other book stores. I got one from The Signed Page and a search might yield other websites. Amazon has some. Is there a reason you only want it from the Sanderson store?
  25. Anybody want to order T-shirts? http://www.customink.com/signup/94r1l1qr If anybody wants to order a T-shirt just for the fun of it. Use the above link to input quantity and size by 8/31/14. $30 each (for full disclosure, they will cost me $26.75 each including tax, plus my cost to then mail them to you). If we end up ordering 10+ shirts, it will be less, and I will issue a partial refund; I do not want to make 1 penny from this. Just pay me via PayPal with my e-mail address, [email protected] You should have it by October, 2014. (Admins: If this violates any forum rules, please delete this post and accept my apology).
