I can totally understand how this seems logical, but I've never seen any evidence for those abilities coming solely from those surges and being attached to those names directly. Kaladin flies through the air using one Lashing in particular to compound the pull of gravity on his body in a specific direction. He calls it a lashing, not Windrunning, and though that seems like what the Order title would be based on, I don't think it's for us to define. The exact same thing applies to Lightweaving. I think it seems like a direct correlation to the name of the Order, but calling what another Order does "Lightweaving" doesn't sit well with me unless there is some WoB I missed in the last couple months or a thread where Peter weighs in on the nomeclature.

I think I didn't explain my thought well. Shallan and Renarin share a surge - Illumination - but that does not mean that is the Lightweaving surge. I'll be very very surprised if the title that defines the Order is based soley on one of the surges it utilizes. If a skybreaker uses a Gravitation surge, he may be using one of the lashings as they are called, but he is not performing an action that I would consider Windrunning. And maybe not every Order works the same way, but I'm pretty sure both Orders aren't "Lightweaving." In fact, your evidence above suggesting we have seen 3 Lightweavers might actually be what supports that distinction the most considering what we know. If what Renarin does is Lightweaving, someone needs to convince Brandon to start renaming abilities/groups far far before Liar is a concern...

Good point I suppose on the WoB. Tarah is really the only person that fits the bill though. We've met everyone else he's mentioned so far, I believe. I still think it is pretty plain though - "Lightweaver" having multiple sources is what that hint suggested. Although if you really get picky, I suppose Brandon could have been saying there is another character we've met that is slated to join the Lightweavers, but he/she doesn't count yet (and then the WoB I linked is talking about a separate matter in essence). Also, I'm pretty sure that sharing the Illumination surge doesn't make Renarin able to Lightweave. Their abilities both manipulate the same concept, but I don't think that means that is the Lightweaving surge. EDIT: Forgot an important word.

Like what would go up in price? I doubt they would do a lot of what Old Republic did. That game is really really restricting. So much so that it was the reason I couldn't get into the game to begin with. Only made it to level 15 or something. Anyway, if you know any full time wow players, you know they pay for the game 100x over buying pets and mounts and realm transfers. The changes they've made recently make it obvious they've noticed the potential of digital services and an in game store. If they can remove the subscription barrier for 2 million more players, I'm sure they will still find themselves rolling in cash from those transactions alone. -
Loveable Characters you actually don't care about....

I dislike Renarin. As true as that is, this plot does sound interesting. The plot sounds interesting though; everything I know of Renarin suggests he is going to collapse under pressure and make everything a whine-fest. But I can say this, Renarin fans, I really really am rooting for him to grow from a plot like this. Something where he is tested and actually grows a little stronger instead of crying. I just don't have much hope and that's why he's at the top of my list for this topic. -
I've always taken the two Lightweavers comment to include Hoid. IIRC, Brandon specifically used the term Lightweaving to describe what Hoid does at one point. I could be remembering another source, but that's what I remember. Of course, it is a different version of Lightweaving - native to another planet - but that doesn't mean it isn't the same thing. If you'll recall, those magic systems were collected at one point, so there is no reason to believe that just because it's on Roshar it couldn't be the same as the original. The only absolute difference is the spren bond, but I don't think that is what distinguishes the two Lightweavers. And I think Elhokar's note on the figures leaving is only meant to indicate his problem is related to spren, and not just personal delusions. It actually doesn't prove anything either way. If Elhokar isn't seeing them because he's a Lightweaver himself, it could be because another Lightweaver or just the Cryptics as a society have sent a Cryptic to spy and/or assess Elhokar's potential. Either way you wouldn't want to be confronted by another Radiant's spren, but the fact is Cryptics already don't want to confront Honorspren. I don't think you'll be able to riddle it out just yet. I'm going to look for a Yolen-Lightweaver reference. EDIT: Here's one...

FYI, according to those who believe in the "leaked Blizzcon plans" that were posted, WoW may very soon go free to play. I kind of doubt it because I don't think they need to, but some people swear it's from a credible source. So good time to start! -
Not to mention the storm is kind of past the gathering phase haha

World of Warcraft again. Just bought Borderlands 2 as well, so I'll probably hit that up soon. I'm going to add next month's post onto here as well because I know that I won't have any time to post it: Halo Master Chief Collection, Assassins Creed: Unity, and WoW: Warlords of Draenor. All at the same time. Until they are all done. It's like running 3 marathons at once. A TRIMARATHON OF GAMES. -
There it is.

"The Whacky Adventures of Kaladino and Friends - Book 3: Stormform!" Be sure to read each of the other zany books in the series: "The Whacky Adventures of Kaladino and Friends - Book 1: Stormblessed!" "The Whacky Adventures of Kaladino and Friends - Book 2: Storming Assassins!" Or if he doesn't want it to be "Stone" bc of Rothfuss' book, it could be like "Rocks Unpitted". Yeah, that has a nice ring to it.

Suggestion: Using DestinyLFG.net is really good for finding other players on your console that are looking for a raid group. It's content that is really really worth experiencing, so you may want to give it a shot sometimes. They are often looking for one more person, but you really need to have a microphone if you don't know the fights. Hope it works out! Btw, if anyone is on Xbox One and needs friends, my GT is Bloodfalcon2. just message me that you are from 17S. -

Destiny until my eyes bleed. -
When I go from Reddit to 17S, good topics like this are a breath of fresh air. I gave up on trying to figure these out a long time ago after noticing so many details didn't really fit the table of Orders correctly. My last hope was that maybe the lines connecting all of the surges and Orders could be either unscrambled or very specific links to similar spren/properties. Especially after looking at the alternate chart (called Voidbinding chart a year ago at least...) it just seemed like the physical descriptions of the spren fit the symbols so well but they were in the wrong places... I've been out of the game for a while now though, haha..

No there are lots of people playing Destiny on PS4, but if it was a huge problem you would have heard about it. I think it's something on your end unfortunately. -

I haven't heard of that happening to anyone else. Not sure if that would even be a Bungie issue or a PSN issue. Probably Bungie.... I'd recommend installing/returning the game from wherever you got it from. That works too often. -
I say bring em all on board IF..... big IF..... there are a lot more Radiants popping up soon. If there are dozens of Radiants in each Order within the next few books, I have no problem with the whole family being Radiants. After all, they are one of the most significant groups even disregarding their powers. You might be able to make a good case for them having more than average attention from spren, whether it be because of the significance put on them by others somehow or just because they are situationally obligated by their rank to be talented or strong in certain areas. If none of that is true though, yeah, like 4 is good. Hahahaha.

Yikes that sounds like a mess. I wonder was that the same issue I had last night where East Coast players didn't get access until 3AM if they got it digitally? Or did you have a different problem? I don't want to tease you, but..... I just played it for like an entire day and I think it's outstanding. Good luck! -

The Most OP Thing in the Cosmere (besides Shards)
Bloodfalcon replied to Dellexe's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Woah great point. But I guess what I'm thinking is that once you have several of those powers, you can really get through any situation. There probably isn't much outside your boundaries if you have every surge alone. Or Allomancy + Feruchemy. If it were me, I'd probably just have a couple preferred solutions to pretty much everything. -
The Most OP Thing in the Cosmere (besides Shards)
Bloodfalcon replied to Dellexe's topic in Cosmere Discussion
As powerful as that would make someone, I think there'd be a point of overkill where you have too many skills to make use of. If you bonded all of the Honorblades, that already seems like a lot to keep track of. I suppose the real benefit is being able to switch off between energy sources. Swallow a ton of metal, grab some infused gemstones and just swap when you start running low. It sounds more like an endurance champion than anything. So maybe too OP to a point of wastefulness. -
Reactions to The Fires of Heaven
Bloodfalcon replied to Fifth of Daybreak's topic in The Wheel of Time
Yeah it wasn't a bad thing, but when my friend (who had read the series before me) told me that a couple of the main characters wouldn't even be in some of the books, I looked back on TDR and didn't think twice about referencing it in that discussion. It's not technically the same, but I consider them all to have dipped out for a book. And Perrin was my favorite character at the time, but I gotta say, I missed Mat the most. -

For obvious reasons this isn't true, but it always felt to me like Rand is missing from The Dragon Reborn. He's out of the scene a lot in addition to developing in just about every way. Then the big moment comes and it all felt like a movie. I hardly felt like I got Rand's POV for most of it, despite him having POV chapters. -

So true. Every. Last. One. Also, there is a sign that basically tells you 100% for certain when someone is Forsaken (minus certain obvious occurrences), but I'll leave that for you to figure out.
