Half an hour since what? It has been at 299 for over a day. Did they say someone would enter another code???

I'd like to start by saying that I really don't care if you like him or not. I don't really like Szeth for a very similar reason, and lots of people sympathize with him. So the next statement is just for conversations sake. I think that the difference in this situation is that Dalinar's intention is to embrace the situation in order to end it. He is in command, but it has been clearly stated several times that the deed will be done regardless of Dalinar or even Elhokar's decisions. If they tried to put an end to the war, they'd be killed. They've also stated the aren't strong enough to defeat the highprinces that would be in opposition. We really only just learned that Dalinar's goal is to slowly (or not so slowly, but incrementally) change how the Alethi operate until they are following procedure and can be unified enough to leave. If anyone else were in charge, especially Sadeas, they would attempt to trample the Parshendii and just move to an all out invasion. If you view Dalinar in a vacuum, his decisions seem immoral. The context, I think, is what moves people to sympathize with him. I mean, you have to admit Brandon spent a considerable amount of time explaining his reasoning for those things in WoK, and now again it is the first thing we see from him in WoR.

?????? Google only confused me more
-
Nope. Still not understanding. Gonna need something a bit more concrete.
-
I'm just having a hard time understanding. Would you mind elaborating? What spoilers?
-
No..... this is good.... I need it to feel special again... Finally, I can relax.
-
I don't think it is confirmed that they are talking about Szeth. It is just assumed so. Unless Brandon said something about it recently?

In the prologue of WoK (I have to say that now that we have a second prologue, Yay!) Kalak notices smoke an char marks or something, and comments that the Dustbringers did their work well. I assume there is some explosion involved. Maybe they make explosions by dividing certain molecules, but that isn't really the point. Atomic, molecular, it's the same theory.
-
Wow, I forgot those were even WoR somehow!
-
Oh, also, on the topic of how many chapters we will get, we keep forgetting the Lift Interlude in our count. So we have Prologue, 1-5, and the Lift interlude. 7.

Is Kaladin's glowiness white as well?
-
Yeah, I would bet the Shadesmar work that Jasnah and Shallan have done is for Transformations, and Jasnah is going to find herself with the ability to enter fully at some point for Travel.
-
If that Radiant was a master of Surface Tension, I'd think she would run ON the water.
-
I suppose I have been thinking of the glow on the soldiers as something fairly bright because it is noted, but I suppose if it was Dalinar's first time seeing the glow of Stormlight in someone, it would be notable for sure. I just find it hard to believe Szeth is running around and everyone is just concerned that he is wearing white.... but there it is!

Mine's named Beyonce (BEE-Ahnce)

Szeth also doesn't glow in such a way, I don't think. If he did, he'd be the Assassin in Light, not the Assassin in White.
-
See?! All our dreams are real!!!!
-
It could still do that! what if it splits atoms and causes explosions? Something like that?
-
Lol your picture is a fish.

I'm the same way. Some of those things I feel I would have enjoyed on day one while holding the book, buuuuut on the other hand, now I have a head start on reading and finishing. You all will be done within a day-ish. It will take me a bit longer (unless I try to read the ebook at work, which isn't exactly ethical but also isn't exactly irresistible). You could have literally only released the Navani journal entry pieces of those chapters and I would have been more than hooked. I'm actually a little bit frightened by the events you might consider to be "hooks" I like this idea a lot and have a question. Was metal blinding because of the planet it was on, or was it specific to Ruin and Preservation because of some investment decisions they made? Perhaps stone is only a problem for Odium. It doesn't seem like the other Shards concern themselves with stone, but Odium has Thunderclasts and there is the whole Shin stone shaman thing... I'd really appreciate if someone could point me in the direction of understanding this one!

Kaladin doesn't glow by default when he has Stormlight. At least not a noticeable amount like these guys. I think there is something more going on here, but I'm voting for the one I like the best - the Division one.
-
Nobody wants this, but I think it is equally possible that Odium is responsible for Dalinar's visions. Wouldn't it make a little sense if Darkness thinks Surgebinding will cause a Desolation and Dalinar is trying to gather Surgebinders? It could be that seeing the future actually is a sign of Odium, and Dalinar has seen a representation of the future in the 'Honor' visions... I really hope it is the simple explanation that I enjoy, and not that one, but I think it is possible.

This is where I think some of those linking lines will come into play. I think they are going to explain quite a bit.
-
First thought is that WoR posts should be in the WoR subforum. You can get there by clicking "Words of Radiance Discussion" inside of the Stormlight Archive board. But the mods will move it soon... Anyway, I think some of these will be really hard to guess at considering the word choice makes all the difference. Additionally, I think the spren names that the characters give are their best guesses. So no real guarantee they are the true names. Cryptics and Honorspren are a given I guess. I say guess away anyhow! Nin-ja'd.

All of those are candidates for Heralds. One already is!
