  1. Yeah, who knows what kind of games Endowment is playing. Because I'm speculating that maybe it had to be Lightsong in particular to save The God King (Sue). Think about it. Anybody who is Returned becomes a God. But as we see, almost all the Gods of the Court become pampered, selfish people who didn't care about self-sacrifice, or really anything for that matter. (At least most of them, there are a couple actually good people there, of course) So my argument is, would any regular old random Returned have made the same sacrifice? Or do you think Endowment knew it would take someone with Lightsong's personality and spirit, just so he could doubt his divinity enough to actually force himself to rise to the occasion and be put in the situation to save Sue. Now that's a thinker.
  2. Now thinking about it. This brings up a random theory. IF we accept that Lightsong was supposed to become Returned in order to save The God King, do you think it could have been anyone, or did it specfically have to be Lightsong? I.e., Endowment somehow made Tatara go overboard so she could be saved so Lightsong could drown in order to come back as Returned. Sounds pretty crazy now that I type it out, it just kinda came to me just now anyway. I doubt that this is the case at all, but interesting speculation, nonetheless. Anyone wanna shoot this "theory" down?
  3. I'm actually currently on my reread of the Wheel of Time series. And I've reread many books and series in the past as well, especially the ones I read when I was younger in 8th and 9th grade (Stephen King books and the Dark Tower series) I enjoy rereads. I always catch stuff I missed the first time through, or just realizing the foreshadowing as it's happening. It's just great to be able to catch up with old friends after a couple years. That being said, I need to start my Sanderson reread started eventually. Now that I understand all this Cosmere-background story going on, I think I'll appreciate all that subtle, cool stuff in all the books a bit more.
  4. A Pewterarm Windrunner. Cause they would totally win a Shardblade/plate that much quicker. Or an elantrian drawing super complex, badass AonDor symbols in a Bendalloy time bubble. That would get rid of that magic systems biggest weakness.
  5. Now that Kaladin is bonded with Syl, he will aptly ignore her for the next large chunk of story, and she will basically only come back around to be used against him in the Final Battle. Unsuccessfully, of course.
  6. I haven't really played since before Innistrad. Cards just started getting crazy. My big 3 decks are White Knights, An Abyssal Persector/kill spell black deck, and my favorite is a White/Red Equipment/Metalcraft deck. It uses Sunforger with Puresteel Paladin (0) equip cost and is just a toolkit instant deck as well. Very versatile and heavy hitting.
  7. Gonna have to check those out. And yeah, Heroes was fantastic. All of that story just for 3 days. He really captured what it seems like that kind of war would be like. Whirrun of Bligh, all time favorite character from the series. Dude was a real cracknut. And it was really great to see what Shivers was up to after Best Served Cold. I want more Glotka narrative in the future books. He's just way too sarcastic and hilarious.
  8. Upvoted just for the "kolo" lol And when do we find out he becomes 17th shard? Cause that's a dank as hell twist. Besides that though, he just helped so much with the story in Elantris. I definitely agree Raoden was just too "perfect" a character. I definitely enjoyed him as a character, he was definitely funny, but Galladon just added that perfect pessimistic juxtaposition.
  9. Gotta go with the Dula on this one. Without Galadon, Raoden wouldve never had the chance to thrive in Elantris.
  10. Piggybacking off of Windrunners rollerblade idea, on a smooth straight road or lane, would it work if you had a Lurcher upfront on blades, and a Coinshot right behind him. They push/pull on eachother at the same time, is the physics there to make them move forward? Or it could be bikes. Also, I know this is a little different than the Original Posters question of a Lurcher only way of transportation, but I thought it might be a fun idea.
  11. No charge! (I'm pretty sure) I've just asked on here and someone mentioned just email him. And Im not too sure which ones. I know White Sand is one of them. But not too sure about the others.
  12. I could only imagine why. I definitely need to give those a listen/read. Edit: Is that another one of those 'email Brandon Sanderson for' or is it on here?
  13. Welcome! I'm pretty new here myself, and came here of pretty much the same circumstances, and I gotta say, these guys are pretty alright. I gotta say, Alloy of Law was pretty damnation hilarious, I do agree. But the way Sanderson writes, I'm always laughing every few pages. He just writes some funny chull people.
  14. A series of metal spires with badded balconies at various heights all along them, these spires are placed maybe couple hundred feet apart, and are arranged in a zig-zagging line. You start on base level, which has a havy metal base, you pull to the nearest tower (lets say to the right) above the first level padded landing, pull back on the base to decelerate if need be. These bases would go all around the spire, so walk to the other side, look forward to the left to the next nearest spire and pull towards the second level. Or hell, only one level might be needed. But you just pull on the previous tower you jumped from as you approach the next tower in succession. Theoretically, this could work? Maybe? Anyone see any obvious flaws I overlooked?
  15. Put a strip of metal on it, and use Iron Pull to find the remote (even if you cant pull it straight to you, a blue line would show where it is)
  16. Maybe it's whatever the Shardholder think fits into that ideal of honor and chivalry, etc.
  17. I actually just started rereading WoT and am only on book 2, so I got another 12 books of fresh material to use. Kaladin will deny his Windrunning powers and will refuse to accept it and run away from responsibility for about 6 books. Renarin will always be hit on by girls, and will blush and be embarrassed, wishing Adolin was there cause he's 'good with women.' The same thing will happen to Adolin and he'll think the same about Renarin. Szeth will acidentally unleash an ancient evil into the world, that becomes a minor antagonist for the rest of the series that has no lasting, severe consequences, and is offhandedly defeated in one blow during the Final Battle.
  18. Summoning a shardblade to slice a loaf of bread
  19. Oooh, cool thanks! Does this mean that he could also potentially collect MORE shards? Or would only opposite shards like Ruin and Preservation combine together like that?
  20. I'm not sure if this has been discussed before, but when browsing the Coppermind, I dont think Harmony was listed, because it wasn't an original shard. But when Sazed takes both Ruin and Preservation, he becomes an entirely new entity, right? and since he has two shards, would that make him stronger than any other Shardholder? (or weaker, because of the nature of the two shards he holds?) Discuss?
  21. I wouldn't put it past Lightsong to just be like, "You know, I don't think I'm divine, but i KNOW I look good." Or something like that. (Maybe he also thought he could have been a model in his past life, on top of detective and lock-picker)
  22. Oh wow thats nifty and pretty straight forward of him. Cool beans, thanks for the info!
  23. Yeah, the latter 3 stand alone books were on a whole different level. Really took the world the that Epic scale. I loved in Red Country when he never even said Lamb's real name. Everyone would just realize who it was and just rust themselves. You gotta be realistic about these kind of things, afterall.
  24. So how does one get to read these unpublished works, exactly? Cause I won't discuss them here, and I dont know anyone else is real life that reads Sanderson (yet) so I wouldnt be able to leak or spoil them. I just need my Cosmere fix, man.
  25. Mine was originally Fatjack4391 cause that was my old nickname and bday. just the generic tag Ive been using for years. So I decided to spice it up, and this is a new name. Its a term I came up with for the story idea/magic system Ive been working on.
