  1. You can also ask if there is something that rings a bell but don understand completely and we'll do our best to explain it to you.

And I have a thing with anything by Feynman. He was one of the best Physics teachers there has been.

  2. This makes me think...

Why would Ruin's body manifest in a way that can be used by Allomancers if Allomancy is of Preservation?

That and... well, anyone can burn Lerasium, right? Or is it that you just "eat" it, not "burn" it? Because it's the key for Allomantic powers. And, then, it depends on your DNA if you can burn one metal or every one of them... and one of them is Atium. But that would be giving Preservation's tools a way to end with Ruin's physical manifestation... whilst it would seem like more logical if Preservation couldn't affect Ruin directly through allomancy.

So why can Atium be allomantically used in the first place?

  3. I think there is, indeed, some kind of instinct to it. It's like snapping.

I mean, when a person snaps, it's because he has been through a life-threatening experience, and it's the body's instictive reaction. Just the same way a normal body would produce adrenaline, it answers by trying to burn allomantic metals.

The body already "knows" how to do it, it's only necessary for it to have the needed compounds. Allomancy is hereditary, just as our DNA has coded a series of processes that will lead to producing adrenaline, and only has to start the reaction.

Now, before doing it for the first time, you learn how to do it at will. So you "give" the order for burning X metal, and the body makes do if the metal it has is not the same, but a similar alloy. Because you "know" you can do it, and thus force the body. The same way that things happen if you overexert yourself.

Biological reasons notwithstanding, it is obvious that Luthadel's water has allomantically-useful metals on it, of Vin wouldn't have been able to ever "burn" anything, because she would not have anything to burn. And it's not like if she had been a lesser-powered mistborn, she was more like a soother, so it must be that there's good brass in Luthadel's water.

  4. Good.

Because somehow I don't think getting Brandon writing what's left, even in a short story, is an option...

Now I can see why Brandon and you say it's bad. But, to be honest, I've read far worse books. And I'm hooked twith the story anyway, even if it could do some improving. I like Devin. Even if he becomes uber all of a sudden. But I'm more interested in his 'human' friend.

And pity Prince Kkeris had to die.

    T_T I want another chapter.

  5. If you get to ask him anything, remember to write the answers...

... and make a photo oh his phace as he does so.

    Better yet, his whole body.

Or even better, use a videocamera.

He could he hiding something, and we'll want to analyize it later.

We mere mortals who won't (and have never had) the opportunity of meeting Brandon in person) want to know every detail.

... a little envious, here XD.

    Have a nice time!

  6. I've had a couple of mistborn/Brandon themed dreams. One that I remember specifically was that Brandon was in town and I had to do all sorts of silly chores in order to be able to go, and it was rather stressful to try to get all of them done before he left.

I've only had one lucid dream before. For a little while I just sat there thinking about how cool it was that I knew nothing was real. Then I jumped off a building.

I've never had a lucid dream. The closest dream I've had iot that, when things go horrible bad in a dream, I never realize it is a dream, whilst in reality, I always wish it were a dream and I could wake somehow.

... well, once, I was dreaming and all was like hell, and then I reallized I was dreaming, and woke.

The problem was, I was dreaming inside the dream, so I kept dreaming that the dream stopped, real life started... and of course, everything started to go worse XD.

  7. That's a good topic.

The thing is, I don't know how to indicate pronunciation in English the way you guys do it. I can read it, sure, but I don't know how to write it myself. More or less my nick would me pronounced the same way that if you took it exactly as it is and read it as if it were written with international phonetic symbols.

Pronunciation in Spanish is easy, so we don't really make a fuss about this matters. We say "it's written the way it sounds". The only thing in my nick that does not sound Spanish is the "ll". In my language, that usually sounds different than a double l, whilst it's a double l in my case. but that's a license I took XD.

  8. I had a Brandon-themed dream tonight.

I can't remember much of it, but he came to my house and signed all his books in my house, some postcards and a bookstore recipe I had in one of his books (he actually wrote something in there in small, neat handwriting with a commercial pen). I held a party at home and a lot of people I knew came with books for him to sign because he was staying there. And all the time I was trying to do something to make him totice me, notice that I has different than the rest, in the sense that I was... I don't know, more fan, that I was interested in him as a person, and not just as a writing machine. Even though we was supposed to have to know I existed, for he was in my house.

    Weird XD.

  9. Come now. Brandon's awesome, but he doesn't have that level of encyclopedic knowledge. He stores stuff in his metalminds (Peter, and his wiki), and doesn't have them on him all the time :P

We had a blast. There will be reports and stuff forthcoming. Now, however, I am exhausted and need sleep.

Well, but I guess it's always easy to keep track of the information you've made up yourself, isn't it?

    Waiting for the reports ;)

  10. I would like to announce that in Mistborn Trivia at the Alloy of Law release, we stumped Peter.

To be fair, we had questions in our highest difficulty that Peter definitely could have gotten, but we deliberately chose the most esoteric. (Sorry Peter.) Its on video, too.

The question? Where were Valette Renoux's supposed parents from? Points for naming the Dominance--which Peter did get--but no one got the correct city.

    Congrats! :)

Now you just have to get a way to do the same with Brandon himself ;)
