  1. We'll find that out in Renarin's book. But my bet his condition has something to do with Gyl, his Spren, not some blood weakness. Kaladin also remarks at the end of the book that his problem doesn't seem to fit epilepsy.
  2. That's not the point I was making. The point i was making is he gave Szeth a sword that is going to impose it's will on him. Look at it this way. Nightblood is commanded to 'Destroy Evil' Whoever wields it is forced to the sword's purpose and it's judgement on evil. Syl, on the other hand, does not force her will on Kaladin. He almost kills her by not following his oath, and the ideals of his order. That's where the deception lies. Szeth cannot know what he his getting into by believing the sword is like a shardblade, or any other blade he knows about.
  3. And it would be just like Brandon to plot something like that out. He is the foreshadowing master. I mean, who really thought that Renarin had epilepsy.
  4. Your looking in the wrong place for it if your looking in Alomancy.. Try Feruchemy on the Spiritual side.
  5. Please reference my original post here: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/6673-szeth-theory-with-wor-spoilers/ I state I do not believe it's Nalan that gives Seth Nightblood. In my re-read, I caught something in Dalinar's vision in the beginning of the book. The Almighty said "Vex Odium, convince him that he can lose, and appoint a champion. He will take that chance instead of risking defeat again, as he has suffered so often. That is the best advise I can give you".". He also gives calls Nightblood a ShardBlade, when he obviously knows it's not,to deceive Szeth. I think that scene where "Nalan" gives Nightblood to Szeth is Odium choosing his champion. Thoughts?
  6. I think the scene where Dalanar is explain to his son that Ryshadium pick the worthy was a hint to some kind of bond. There's more then the steed being trained well. They do what their rider needs.. They remind me of the Ranyhyn in the Thomas Covenant series.
  7. I missed the powder? When did Hoid do that?
  8. Personally, I think Nightblood could only be taken from Vasher if Nightblood wanted to be taken from Vasher. If it's orders of magnitude stronger then any weapon we know about, my guess is that Nightblood was manipulated into believing it could kill evil better with someone other then Vasher. But that's just a crackpot theory. I'm glad Brandon added it to the storyline, there will be alot of speculation and discussion about this.
  9. Chapter 81: There's a scene where Kaladin is talking with Zahen during the weeping, talking about the mini pure lake that Zahen made and Zahen says "Excellent Deduction, like fresh blue paint on a wall". Proof enough for me that he's Vasher. That would only make sense to an Awakener. Also, he calls Hoid "Dust'. Dust: http://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/1597-hoids-other-pseudonyms/?p=27862#entry27862 What i don't understand is why all these folks are changing their name.
  10. If I remember correctly, the honorblades were given by The Almighty to The Heralds. Kaladin is bonded to a Spren who chose him. Different situations. In none of the flashbacks of WoK, did we see anything like we saw Kaladin and Syl working together as a team. So I agree with Carlos. I also avoided this forum like the plague until I was finished with the book, so I agree with the assessment of if your reading these forums before your done with the book your just asking to be spoiled.
  11. I think he was broken long before this event took place, and if he was going to bond a spren, it would have happened. There are ALOT of people who seem to know what's going on.. Ghostbloods, Hoid (the entire 17th shard of course), Vashar (Zahel), Taravangian(sort of)..
  12. The person who revived him claimed to be Nalan, but I'm not convinced Nalan would need a fabriel to revive someone. He's now supposed to be a Skybreaker, but has no Spren, which is where every other order gets their abilities from.... And getting Nightbringer seems more like a curse then a boon. I think Szeth is being used... Again.
  13. Liked: 1) Nightblood appearing. I have a theory about that somewhere on the forums 2) The epilogue. It wasn't the fact that Jesnah was still alive, but the fact I get the feeling Hoid is going to introduce her into the cosmere and she will become a World Hopper. 3) Learning why shardblades could not be created by the Artifabrians. 4) The amount of mysteries that were cleared up in the first 6 or 7 chapters. 5) Shallin's flashbacks. I always suspected she killed her mother. 6) Pattern. I'm hard pressed to say who I like better, Syl or Pattern 7) The new Order of Radiants, the GonchoBringers. I LOVED that. Disliked: 1) Sadeous's death scene. I'm happy it happened, but it needed more attention. 2) Listening to Michael Kramer read the numbers on the epitaths in chapters 84 and 88. (I did the audiobook) 3) It didn't seem real that Kalidin would ignore Syl as much as he did, almost killing her. It also didn't seem real that he would be so loyal to Dalinar yet not speak to him of the assassination plot. 4) Stormfather all of a sudden deciding to talk to people when addressed. Confused: Stormfather seems to care less about the Humanoid species, however, he was obviously pained when the parshendi learned the stormsong. Where's Cultivation? The motive for Nalan giving Szeth Nightblood doesn't make sense of Nalan's attributes, which are Just and Confidence. I understand that Skybreakers have some issues with Windrunners, but bringing him back to life and giving him Nightblade seems out of character
  14. Thank you so much for this, a great reference for Words of Radiance!
  15. All links to we hate dragons dont seem to work either.
  16. My theory is that Peter has a implant in his brain that zaps him with electricity anytime someone writes about Hoid.
  17. Would be an interesting concept.. Perhapse this is close to the Hemalurgic effect of Duralumin?
  18. How can you not love an author who adds a 'where's Waldo' element in just about everything he writes.....
  19. AHA! Can you say whether I'm Hot/Warm/Cold to your theory Peter?
  20. I just listened to the audiobook version of this (narrated by Claudia Black). In a blog post, Brandon said this: ....The resulting novella, called “Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell,” is set in the Cosmere but not on any planet you’ve seen before. You can read a short piece of it here. I also talked a bit about my inspiration for this novella here." http://brandonsanderson.com/shadows-for-silence-in-the-forests-of-hell/ And I do believe I spotted hoid, near the end. The guy who said "I'm an Idiot Ma'am, not a fool". Great story.
  21. I don't think anyone knows where the shardholders come from. But Ati and Leras don't come from Scandriel, and I don't think that was the reason to point out hair.
  22. As long as they don't give them wands and make them scream 'Stupify' or 'Leviosa' I wont have to murder anyone.
  23. Ralph Listner did SUCH a good job narrating that.
  24. But how would that work for someone who hasn't read the books? You see the problem?
  25. Just curious.. Personally, I'm a big audiobook fan.. I own every book Brandon has released on Audiobook. I find I don't really have the time to read anymore but can multitask and listen to books to make my work day go faster. I'm big fans of Michael Kramer and Kate Redding. They are married if you didn't know.. (Kramer is the Narrator of WoK, Mistborn, and he and his wife did the entire WoT series)
