  1. Seeing as how there are 10 of them it's not just a random thing.
  2. I can imagine this being really useful for Lurchers as well in the upcoming 2nd trilogy for law enforcement. Imagine a team with a Slider (Bendalloy Misting) and a Lurcher with a riotshield or something. The Slider puts up a bubble during a firefight while he is standing next to the Lurcher and the Lurcher pulls all the bullets that are flying in the air towards himself so he can block them all with his shield.
  3. I heard he was finishing the Wheel of Time, so after The Gathering Storm came out I started reading his stuff starting with the Mistborn Trilogy, than Elantris, than Warbreaker and finally Way of Kings. I've recently read Alloy of Law and The Emperor's soul, in the last month.
  4. Odium serves a distinct purpose, and that is the ability to bring hatred and anger into the mix of intents that make up Adonalsium. If anyone hasn't read A Memory of Light I'm posting spoilers for it below so look away. Spoilers: When Rand is "fighting" the Dark One in Shayol Ghul and he creates a possible world without the dark one, he comes to realize that without the evil inside of everyone, which is what the Dark One is (Humanity's collective evil) that the world is very wrong. People need evil inside them or it won't be complete. Odium has it's purpose in Adonalsium, and it's a necessary evil.
  5. I'm re-listening to Warbreaker and I just got to the part where Hoid is telling Siri and Lightsong his stories. It said that the Five Scholars were 400 years ago, 100 years prior to the Manywar. I like the idea of Vasher's research being used as the basis of the Ars Arcanum, but I also kind of doubt it at the same time.
  6. Oh right. The one whose statue was missing.
  7. What book is she from again? I can't remember her from Elantris or Warbreaker, but I haven't read those more than once unlike the other cosmere books.
  8. The thief who breaks artwork in one of the WoK interludes seems like she might be a worldhopper, because she's described in a similar way as Demoux and Galladon. I also can't help but think of Ham whenever I re-read the chapter where Kaladin first wears the parshendi bone armor. The soldier who comes up to steal a water skin from Lopen just sounded a lot like Ham, with the sleeves being rolled up on his uniform and everything.
  9. Hoid has committed thievery before and will do so again most likely, he's admitted as much to others like Kaladin. He could probably pretty easily steal the bracers from whomever bought it from Elend and co. Using Shadesmar to sneak into someone's home would probably be pretty easy for him.
  10. I've been re-listening to The Way of Kings and I just got done with Hoid's conversation with Kaladin. Kaladin asked what Hoid's name was and Hoid replied that he has many names, even one named after a rock. Maybe Hoid was Adonalsium's bearer for a short time?
  11. You would go find a clip of It, wouldn't you Phantom. "Snickers to himself"
  12. Correct. There is truth to that statement, and I kind of agree, but at the same time I wouldn't be surprised to see 16 more metals pop up by the time we're done with the last book in the third trilogy.
  13. You could always get someone else to burn Bendalloy for you, but yea I see your point.
  14. I'm sorry about that then.
  15. Well that's just bull. I just uploaded it as an attachment now. It should work.
  16. It could be an illusion though, I thought there was an Aon Dor for illusion magic in Elantris.
  17. In all seriousness though and getting back onto this thread's topic, I think it probably is the people from the southern hemisphere of Scadrial that Miles is talking about. P.S. I'm sorry if I gave someone nightmares last night with that picture.
  18. Ahh I forgot about that. Alendi was a natural Seeker prior to TLR's ascension wasn't he. Maybe it is something he can do naturally.
  19. That would make much more sense and would possibly be why Rock can see Syl? He's keeping to his oaths of non violence and can see her because of the honor that brings?
  20. Oh thank god I was imagining Ronald McDonald terrorizing the people of Scadrial. Slowly bringing down the good people of Scadrial one Big Mac at a time... Something like this....
  21. Maybe because the ones used in Roshar now are corrupted? I got thinking about how if the focus crystals in the Shardblade hilt really are Diamonds they were once meant to only heal people they cut. Sort of like Tenseiga cut the Bearers of the Dead, preventing someone from dying, in Inuyasha if anyone here has ever read that series. Maybe after splintering Honor the Shardblades became corrupted from their original purpose? They were meant to only hurt the Voidbringers and wouldn't harm normal Rosharians.
  22. It doesn't even need to be weightless, but very light. Think about waving around a piece of wood that's as long as your wingspan, it's going to have inertia and it's going to be unwieldy, now imagine that piece of wood is as wide as your girth and weighs no different. Go to youtube and look up the Men at Arms video of them making the Buster Sword from FF7. It's flipping huge and they can't even swing it properly. However I think this has theory has merit, and it would make sense. I wonder if there are Cultivation blades or if the Cultivation part comes into how varied each Shardblade seems to be.
