  1. Inkwell took a step back. “Rebus. Right. The one the others were talking about.” His hand slips into his pocket surreptitiously. He reconsiders, shifting to the sword. “You’re not an author. Or a Narrator. Why are you here?” The pen is a weapon, the sword is an escape route, but the way. He’s not stupid enough to try and fight Rebus. Yet.
  2. Uh so are narration blades like honor blades but they grant forms of narration? And if so, what are the implications of Rebus holding Antagonist and Redemption?
  3. Another one? “I haven’t heard of anyone, at least anyone from here.” Inkwell suddenly feels silly in his armored jacket next to the impressive armored figure. “Who are you?”
  4. Inkwell involuntarily shivered. “What was that?” “You’re telling me you spent all this time harassing me because I was stalling plot threads, when one of the plot threads I was stalling kept someone alive?” Inkwell gritted his teeth. The guilt threatened to overwhelm him. “That’s. Not. Our. Job. They have authors for a reason.” “You know, you act like you’re some expert on TLT, but really you appeared here no sooner than I did. Just because you can hear the gods doesn’t make you one of them.” Inkwell, will all his might, sends a silent message to the other authors, praying his author will hide this from 9/10mmHB#2, the heartless creature Inkwell is stuck with. And for a moment, Inkwell’s prayer is granted, and his author takes away 9/10mmHB#2’s ability to see the Thread. Inkwell pleads to all the authors to separate him from 9/10, at any cost.
  5. Anyways, half of my stupid character is asleep, the half that isn’t a self insert is talking to someone who is asleep, so at this point I’m going to take a hint and get some shut eye myself.
  6. “I’m not stopping you. Look, who- the body bag, the blood, the- we’re in the middle of the freaking woods! Do you need help?” I don’t want him to be a gosh dang fairy tale prince. He cares about people but later he’s got good reason for an evil arc.
  7. “Did I tell you? After I got eaten by the giant snake like a moron, before I ended up here.” trying not to steal your characters agency here. oooo pockets, I want one.
  8. “It looks like the place I grew up- same trees. The voice- 9/10mmHB#2 wants me to take us back the place with the mist person. What do you think?”, Inkwell asked Alli.
  9. “The sword, it appears, is too sharp. The voice in my head that made it when he took control of my body- don’t look at me like that, I’ve said stranger things today, he thought it would be nice if the sword could rip a hole in reality. Except I can’t pick where I go. At least I don’t think I can, but this place… it’s so familiar.”
  10. Inkwell gives in. “D’arvit,” he swears, immediately feeling foolish. “I don’t know what to do now. I could make another rift, but honestly I’m not sure how I did that the first time and we’d end up somewhere random. Any suggestions?” He looks at Alli, troubled.
  11. Oh. That’s great. So where actually do we go here from now. I’m waiting for the resolution of some plot thread, then I can consider I&9 developed enough to start theirs which is… ambitious. yes, d’arvit. Idk, I’m running low on things to steal from, blame Austin Klein.
  12. That was my only lead. What is going on with Alli, I’m shooting at the dark now, trying to move the plot along. Even my self insert is frustrated. Inkwell stares like a dead man. 9/10mmHB#2 will not shut up, spouting every last fictional curse from Eragon to Artemis Fowl to a whole list of words from the Cosmere.
  13. “Last I checked I have a pen that can create anything I want, with the downside of a bunch of voices in my head. But I guess I can’t heal myself. Haven’t tried yet. And I don’t think I could make like, the Death Star with that pen, so it’s probably not that powerful. Have you heard of someone named Fog, by the way?”
  14. I have become a frog with the appearance of “You can do that but not cut yourself down from a tree?” A thought comes to him. “Have you heard of anyone called Fog?”
  15. The author rolls a twenty sided die to determine what the heck Living Glass is doing and avert any attempts at character shipping.
  16. “Not trying to be tough or anything, I literally don’t notice. I’ve been… preoccupied.” I am completely in the dark as to what plot thread my character is going on with- he has had next to no agency and now I’m trying to figure out what LivingGlass is doing because confusion.
  17. Yeah I’m cool if my character gets a plot point or two. Right now his antagonist is like, part of him. So they could use someone to get them to work together.
  18. “Um. Okay?”. He turned his head to show her. You’re messing with my head, Inkwell thought back.
  19. “Oh. That’s there. I can’t remember the last time I felt myself bleed. Not like you’re unscathed, anyhow.” He paused, listening to the voice that he had been trying to ignore. Ribbon.
  20. He wracked his memory. “Uh, maybe? I’m going to be much more cautious around animals from now on.”
  21. “So, uh, you don’t know what happened? What’s the last thing you remember? My whole story was uh, I met a talking dog, got carried away to a cave by some mosquitoes, then got eaten by a snake. Then I met a person made of mist, they said some cryptic things, and I showed up in these woods.” He looked around. “Reminds me of home… that’s weird.”
  22. “Uh, yeah. So, I’m Inkwell… and you are?”, he proffered a handshake.
  23. “Oh, shoot. Uh, I’m not crazy, I just…”
