I’m too hungry and barely awake to process all this message business. Hopefully going to have time to do it later. I’m thinking of a possibility that someone’s added a fake message to further confuse everyone, but not sure how viable that is Ahh okay, that clarifies it then. I misunderstood and thought you two had already talked about it prior. Also, from the succeeding post, I guess Argenti did receive durasteel also

Hiya, I just woke up. Before anything, feel free to call me Dive lol. It rolls better when said and I mostly just use Divergent, so the reference is not lost. Anyways, Imagine if the game just ended on Cycle 1 Also, that’s interesting to know about Lotus. Yeah, I don’t think a rebel would outright say that they got this kind of strategy from someone who flipped rebel. Then again, you did mention that he said this after further questioning, which I think makes it also possible that he caved in to the pressure and, so the honesty would be less organic in that sense. That said, I do trust him for the moment. We’ve messaged a fair bit and he came across as genuine. I think for the most part, I feel he came off as suspicious due to not explaining his reasoning clearly I think a lot of newer players in general OMGUS regardless of alignment. Usually, it’s just kind of a defense mechanism to being pressed by someone, so I don’t think I would necessarily be suspicious over that. I’m more suspicious of the fact that I see him on the thread more times than not when I’m posting, but he chooses not to engage at all. He did mention being busy, I think, but also he could have just answered some of the questions like why he voted for TwinStorm last day. So I’m quite confused by the slot because it could either be just a newer villager who’s overwhelmed by the game or a newer rebel who’s avoiding saying much in an effort to avoid giving themselves away Hmmm do the durasteel and duraluminum message have the same content? If so, if we assume that’s real, then I think it’s possible to be a coordinated attempt by the Spymaster and a recruited Rebel because it would be unlikely otherwise. But wait, that would be impossible because the message was sent on Cycle 1 before it arrives on Cycle 2, so there’s not really an opportunity to coordinate yet. So either Argenti misremembered it or outright lied about it

I think it’s probably close to impossible to read anything from the kill. Traditional game night kills are already hard to read as people could be killed for any reason: being trusted, having a particular role, diversion kill, random. With this game and the possibility that it could be as high as five different choices, it really limits anything that can be gleaned from it. I’m still confused by the Stink kill too. Agree with the idea that rebels and ISB will most likely act identically since both are practically uninformed factions until the rebel spymaster starts to find its members. Can you explain more how or why private reads would be beneficial to us rather than laying those thoughts in the open? Interesting, I’d like to know the reasoning for this vote

Yeah, I’ve seen Argenti around too and I thought they’d say more, so they’re also currently on my radar TwinStorm voted for Unknown too before anyone else did

Hmmm true, this could be something to remember down the line in later cycles Lowkey thought you were drunk while typing this overall agree with this I’m a bit confused with the three consecutive Unknown votes in quick succession too, but would prefer that over just throwing votes all over the place

So, I’m a little confused with moving forward with this game since the different nature of the opposing group means that traditional ways of finding rebels wouldn’t apply as much. But anyways, I wanted to write out my thoughts, so it’s clearer to me and perhaps others could also help clear it out for me. I was thinking that Stink didn’t vote at all last cycle and he flipped Rebel. Perhaps he could have wanted to avoid accidentally voting a Rebel and wanted to have more info to find out who he’s aligned with, hence, potentially explaining his pacifist stance. So I am thinking along those lines that other Rebels might have thought the same and avoided voting at all. Thoughts about everyone: 1. TwinStorm - The post where he said that PMs are the route both sides have to take combined with him stating that he messaged veterans stood out a bit to me. I could see the angle of a Rebel trying to find a friend among the people who are more familiar with playing in SE. 2. Doc - Messaged everyone like Stink also, so there’s an angle where he’s a Rebel trying to find allies. I’m a bit iffy about the reason for voting me because it seems to assume that I have the knowledge that Stink was a Rebel and thus voted for KSauce because of that. 3. Unknown - Basically his posting was just a joke about being the Spymaster, the Dark Forest theory, and some game mechanics, so there’s not really much of a read I can get out of him. Maybe CWAC? 4. Booknewt - I was iffy about the reasoning behind voting TwinStorm last cycle. But now that I wrote out my thoughts on TwinStorm, it makes more sense to me. Other than that, the reasoning for suspecting people to be Rebels because they voted Ksauce also seems to assume Rebels know who they’re aligned with 5. Coder - Wasn’t around so don’t have an opinion of him 6. Argenti - Hasn’t said much. Only 2 RP posts, with one of the posts suspecting TwinStorm without stating any reason 7. ThatOneWorldhopper - Hasn’t said much either. Voted Stink. 8. HoidSlayer - Hasn’t really said much either outside of saying that they’re busy atm 9. Fura - Entered D2. I like the one post that they had to try and figure out things. Also have a little reason to trust them after exchanging messages 10. Experience - Not sure what I think. Vibe-wise, I’m townreading them and the reasoning for voting KSauce last cycle was okay 11. Ace - Not really much to go off either since they only talked at the start of the last cycle 12. IHadAThought - I was confused with the vote for Doc, but he explained more clearly when I asked in PMs. Been trying to contribute here and there today. Vibe-wise from talking to him in PMs, he reads good to me 13. Kasimir - Has said and contributed the most out of everyone. I’m inclined to think he’s trying to solve genuinely With a third of the people alive not being very active rn, I’m kind of open to also considering voting in that direction since inactives are difficult to read and I also feel wary of getting to the later cycles with barely anyone to read/getting reads from. Also that one Rebel is out, so we have a bit of leeway to. That said, I’m not sure if that’s “reasonable” here since different communities have different positions on inactives. That said, out of the active people, I’m least inclined to trust the first four at the moment. For now, my vote is on Unknown because I want to hear more about his thoughts on the game and other players. And he’s also one of the players who didn’t vote last cycle, which aligns with my theory that other Rebels might also have avoided voting like Stink did Also, is there a way to isolate posts by person? Had to scroll the threads again and again to read through people’s posts and idk if there was an easier way to do that

I received one with two planets (not familiar with the source material enough to know if they only appear in the original trilogy) —— I can’t type below this quote for some reason. Anyways, yeah the larger team makes sense in this sort of game And I think it would be accurate that there’s at least two friendly-fire targets. The first was rerolled and then the second one was Stink. Could be possible both targets received multiple entries too, making the hit more likely

I wrote a post and I think I accidentally clicked the hide option and I think it went to the void, so I’m rewriting it Is there a precedent for it being six rebels? That feels like a lot of rebels in a 16 player game, but then again, I guess the mechanics/different win condition could make the ratio balanced Also, I thought that if the rebels hit one of their own, then that player is exempted entirely from the reroll and all entries are removed. But I guess it’s possible I misunderstood it and it’s only the one entry that is removed and if there are repeats, then that person could still be hit again. So I too would like a clarification on that We only had a brief conversation wherein I realized he shared a similar timezone with me and that it’s nice that this game has a rollover that’s unlike many others where it’s a time that we’re asleep and have less control over what happens. So I wanted to give him a chance to survive by a dice roll and I didn’t really find any of the reasons for voting him to be compelling

First game here and my vote ends up contributing to the ISB Supervisor getting voted out Cycle 1 and I was trying to save a Rebel too Rebels shooting their own is a good thing. I wonder how that ended up happening.

Stink and I talked briefly in PMs, and we’re on similar timezones, so I’d like to give him a chance to make it through this cycle - KSauce

Yeah, I think that makes the game a lot different from the standard because not having that knowledge means there wouldn’t be much leads to follow if we manage to get out one of the rebels Personally, I get it because I don’t have the energy to be talking to everyone all at once haha. But I guess it could be suspicious depending on who Twin did talk to. Right now, I don’t really have a strong read on anyone. I would like to trust Kasimir and Doc, but that’s mostly on vibes

I like this. I always find it difficult to read people early game because there’s too little that’s said to see where people’s alignments lie, so it’s nice to see you articulate reasons for your early reads (might be something I want to learn from)

Zeke Slane was a secretary in the Imperial Security Bureau. He had been in service for over eight years now, so he should be used to the workload. But attending meeting after meeting, taking down notes, and doing paperwork could sometimes feel dreary. Of course, he did enjoy the routine and the predictability of his responsibilities, but sometimes, he felt boredom doing the same tasks again and again, day after day. Today was one of those days. He had just attended three meetings, of which the officers seemed to be talking about the same points that could have been sent on an email. He wanted to doze off and just let his mind wander to more imaginative thoughts, but he was the secretary after all, and these officers would expect a detailed write-up of what was discussed after. So, he pulled himself together and somehow got through the day. Now that his work for the day was over, the exhaustion crept in. Perhaps his body recognized that the feeling could now be welcomed. And so, he decided that he should rest for the day. Tomorrow would be a new one and his mind would be refreshed for new thoughts.

I see, so I guess that means actions are processed instantaneously (as long as the host is online and available) or is the “night” part still being simulated and they’re all processed at the end of the cycle?

I do have some questions before the game begins. 1. What is a dead drop message? 2. Are the minor roles exclusive to the ISB or can the Rebels also randomly be assigned to any of those roles? 3. Does the double vote effect of the Analysis ability reflect on vote counts or is it hidden? 4. By 24 hour cycles, does that mean 12 hour day then 12 hour night? Or is it 24 hours each phase?

Yeah, I’d really love to see the singing parts play out in the movie. LOL These warnings make me even more curious about the cookie… Oh god, this cookie is poisonous and I’m going to keel over and die after I eat it…

Oh LOL calling you Coder then! Hahaha I was looking for recommendations before on my next Traitors season to watch and it’s consistently in the bottom of people’s rankings, so I’ve been vehemently avoiding it. But perhaps it’ll be one of my guilty pleasures… Yes! But this seems oddly ominous…. The second book is the best among the main trilogy and the two prequels. I’ve seen the first and second Hunger Games movies and they were good! The movies based on the third book I haven’t seen yet because it’s not my favorite book and I’m also not read for one of my favorite character’s deaths. I want to watch Lucy’s movie at some point!

I will, hopefully this year! Personally, I think they're all very cool and as much as I love the Stormlight Archive characters, most of them I don't see myself inviting to a party because they're either kinda intimidating or a little too serious haha.

Heya CD! I haven’t gotten to the Australia edition yet, so far I’ve watched US, UK, and Ireland. I have seen the ending of that season online haha and what a crazy outcome. I’ve read The Stormlight Archive (all 5 books + novellas), Elantris, Tress, The Final Empire, The Sunlit Man, Warbreaker I would invite Adolin, Raoden, Sarene, Sazed, Siri, and Lightsong

So, I already introduced myself on the Sanderson Elimination server, but might as well put in an introduction here in the forum. I’m Divergent, you can also call me Dive. From my username, it’s pretty clear that I like Veronica Roth’s series. I’m also a fan of other works in a dystopian world setting like the Hunger Games, Maze Runner, and Gone. I joined this forum because it’s got two things I like - Sanderson’s works and Mafia, and it’s nice to be in an environment where these two things intersect. My first and favorite series of his is The Stormlight Archive. Outside of those things, I like to watch reality tv shows like Survivor, The Amazing Race, and The Traitors. I like exploring places I’ve never been to. I like to play Scrabble and other board games.
