Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Askthepizzagal replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Greebas smiles warmly, seeing Aeternum. He goes back to his scroll-making. -

Aeternum is Greebas' old friend, from before the incident. Greebas is saddened that Aeternum did not come to talk with Greebas today. -

Probably because TwinStorm / Kaladfin was complaining about my content at the time, for several posts, and that's when you hopped on with no further comment. -

Greebas lives here. He's been awake and talking to your group for the past 12 hours almost consecutively. Greebas was sad when no one interacted with him for the first four hours or so. edit- make that more like 7 hours. -

Because Striker was discussed and voted and talked about and you were not. -

Of those not present, I believe Var, the shorter fellow, to be more innocent, and the Booknewt to be more criminal leaning, with intent to vote them if they do not show up. -

The mob leads itself to an early demise through foolishness, yes. Justice is not what they seek, but instant gratification. -

Hehehehe.... Greebas chuckles to himself. Obdilaurd almost grins, as if that were even possible. The Justice Seekers seek justice, so long as justice doesn't take more than a seconds' thought! No wonder Greebas lives outside of society's boundaries and seeks to live alone. But Greebas at the very least, catches your irony, Seth. And he likes you. -

Greebas knows this might be a strange idea, but perhaps you could talk to the person you find to be suspicious and ask them things. Sometimes they do that sort of thing when they bother to have a trial. Witnesses are questioned, so is the suspect. It beats the heck out of declaring guilt and seeking not even justification ex post facto. -

Yes, voting people for absolutely no reason is what innocent people do and guilty folks don't do, it's ever so hard to lob a wad of mud at someone, Greebas couldn't possibly fire one if he were evil-hearted. If Greebas were to take all the case work ever made where it was summed up with the hollow useless word "suspicious" it would be worse than rand in accuracy. He's right about that, actually. Your case work will result in an innocent death much more often than not, because it doesn't differentiate the guilty from the innocent in any way, and attacks the innocent for things innocent people do. Your method is as viable as opening fire in a crowded room, as a way of stopping a random murderer among them. When confronted with this reality, you declare logic itself to be "suspicious." -

Thus the folly of making naked random votes, then demanding to know who the guilty are. How does one tell the difference between the innocent killing random people for literally no reason, and the guilty? And when does the cycle of revenge voting lead to justice? It is rather simple for the guilty to avoid being caught in such a spiral. Truly you are a painter with words. Random guessing is what these "justice seekers" do, they can't read minds. I can. No, you just think you can. Greebas fooled you before, and you're literally in my head. -

Now that we have, most of us, been introduced, perhaps I should tell you all how Greebas and I met. That has nothing to do with this mystery, and it doesn't concern any of them. You sit in the darkness and wait patiently. They're going to kill us. GOOD! You make Greebas regret ever having compassion at all. At least you can't bother anyone else. -

If one is to seek justice, one needs to have a mind capable of administering justice, particularly to the innocent. A judicious mind, one of patience and virtue, connected with mine. I recognize this feeling. Greebas, for all his faults, embodies this idea, quite literally for me. I regret that I did not learn it in life. You don't fool Greebas with that happy talk. You'll be in prison yet for your misdeeds. I've learned my lesson, you're an excellent teacher. Don't blow smoke up my bum, evil spirit. These people don't know you, but Greebas knows. -

If Greebas had one person to vote for, he'd have voted them already. Some people aren't even here yet. Criminal behavior is relative. Some seek to clothe themselves in good deeds, others wear their guilt openly, and some don't even bother to show their faces, the dishonorable cowards that they are. Innocence is also relative. Some genuinely seek to do good deeds, only to murder the innocent instead because they fancy themselves heroic and just. Some make themselves known through their deeds. Some shine brightly just by not doing ill to their fellow man. To judge the group in relative terms, the group must actually be present. -

Very well. Greebas, open up your scroll. Yes, yes, whatever. Hope you can read my chicken scratches. Greebas continues scribbling in his notes, but lacks the ability to post in bolded green colors as he normally does with town reads, despite the blue coloring here. I've mostly been searching for people who shouldn't be executed, and trying to engage with the people flailing about with their votes, but they tend to give no explanation and vanish. I don't get to go anywhere, I'm stuck here solving this mystery in the hopes that this mortal body might not expire for no just cause, but... frankly I am just grateful for the opportunity to live past my natural expiration date as it stands. Yes, yes, so grateful you never stop whining about being given a new form. Greebas will cast you out someday. -

Yes, Greebas would concur. Justice Seekers tend to overlook things and have trouble parsing text. A well known phenomenon that I refer to as the Archangel tell, for innocents. -

You're not very good at bookkeeping. Greebas hasn't voted yet either. But he's paying closer attention than you. edit- in Greebas' notes: So unless Greebas has taken faulty notes, there is another error to add to the pile in your books. -
Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Askthepizzagal replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Greebas doesn't think much of the votes on him. They're quite silly. First, the complaints are that people aren't talking enough, or giving enough reads, then they vote for someone who has given reads and is talking and trying to discuss with people who stop talking, vanish, and don't give reads, just baseless votes. Go ahead and execute Greebas for the crime of talking, it bothers him not. You will have a much quieter discussion with much less content if you do. I agree with him. -

I would prefer it if you are to place a vote, you speak again separately. It is probably not intended, but if you wish to execute someone with your vote, it is more honest and open to do so by announcing it, rather than editing it in later. I understand edits for spelling or mistakes, but, edits that involve adding or removing content, particularly content as important as a vote, should not occur, as a friendly request, for my sanity. -

Greebas doesn't join in the witch hunt, Greebas is a witch. Greebas knows your type, Kaladfin. Don't bother Greebas. I've been thinking about who is a justice seeker, as that is easier and more relevant than random finger pointing, Kaladfin. Yes, yes, how clever. The people who appear to be nice are nice, fascinating discovery, Obdilaurd. The one named Starseeker wants the secret of eternal life. Yes, and that's entirely irrelevant. You can't live forever if someone kills you. Yes you can. ...If you can call this "living." -

Greebas is reminded why he stays away from the law-keepers. Accuse, accuse, accuse. So many innocents slain, so little time. Find your criminals, just leave Greebas out of it. You might try it, we're in danger too, with this group here. Well you figure out who the criminals are and Greebas will point the sinister finger at them later. The clock is ticking for your life, too. Wouldn't that be a shame, for this lovely situation we have to finally end. That will be a fine resolution to this mess, it doesn't bother Greebas.
