  1. Previously he said travel. Karaokeang talked to him, he seemed to favor transportation. FYI, it will not be on the video.
  2. Welcome dungeonfood! The best place to find newer Q&A reports is the Events, Signings, and Stalkings subforum. Glad to have you with us.
  3. Yeah, but we're talking about a cycle of 99 desolations that have (reportedly) occurred. It seems unlikely that at some point during that cycle that there would not have been vast extermination efforts. Especially pre-KR.
  4. Ooh, thanks Windy. Camel case is optional: Soscads and Noscads. Edit: @cem- The rub is which power is greater in magnitude? A stored specific attribute or raw power of Preservation (or Ruin with the other mist)? I am inclined to get behind the raw power if for no other reason than it would be attribute generic.
  5. I also agree that each order's abilities will lend itself to specialization in the way that the orders will be used in combat. There are several things I agree with you on Gloom. I just think you are making too many assumptions on counting orders out of combat when we know very little about what each order can do and how those abilities can be adapted to combat. I don't think anybody has suggested that each order will be used in combat in an identical manner. But, artilliary, infantry, heavy infantry, and cavalry all have different roles and all are directly involved in combat. I just think it premature to count orders out of combat when we only know the full ability set (not just surge names) for one order.
  6. Clever Idea, Chaos. Definitely needs some more info to flesh it out (as you pointed out). Nice job extrapolating out the wetlander question response. Also, How did you get that fancy "Theory" indicator on your thread title? @Gloom- I would very much doubt that there are mistwraiths on the Southern continent. The mistwraiths are former Terris feruchemists and their offspring. Of course TLR could have directly created them on the Southern continent from SoScad stock. How about SoScads and NoScads as shorthand convention for dealing with the separate continents?
  7. Welcome Aonar. Glad to have you with us out in the open now and I look forward to hearing your ideas.
  8. The thing that strikes me as being off about the Parshendi being the voidbringers is that if there was an enemy you fought that was typically peaceful but at the flip of a switch becomes violent and least previously resulting in 90% of the human population being killed, Why the heck would you enslave them and not ensure that knowledge of that nature is remembered. I know crap happens, but it seems that that knowledge would be of paramount importance to the preservation of humanity. I think that enslaving them would have been the height of foolishness. It would be remarkable for the people to not have destroyed the remaining Parshendi completely. It is hard to think about because there is no analog to such a situation in the history of Earth. The worst atrocities were committed as a result of the choices of individuals not puppets without the capacity to make choices of their own. This may end up being an important philosophical theme in the series. How do you handle a race/species of people that 99.9% of the time are peaceful but whose free will can be unavoidably be completely consumed en masse and become the means of at least near total destruction of humanity?
  9. Welcome to 17S, Sirius. Glad to have you with us.
  10. Welcome, alylime. Look forward to hearing from you.
  11. Right, we know the name of it, but we don't know what it does precisely. We assume it lightweaving. But, what exactly does that do? What are the extents of the power? And What power does the combination of Light and Transformation yield? Important questions to which we have little information. All the info about lightweaving that we have, that I know of, comes from an unpublished work. And even that is only a snapshot.
  12. Nitpick coming! She actually burned them three times: In TLR's throneroom (TFE), in Fadrex (HoA), and at Kredik Shaw (HoA).
  13. Point of fact though, we don't know what Shallan's order's surges are. Clearly, Jasnah has shown that transformation is potent in its own right. As for light, we don't know precisely what that does or what the combination of the two does. As to Windrunner's surges being particularly useful for battle, I think that impression comes from that really being the only use we have seen them put to so far. I don't see anything in the surges themselves that really smacks of particular being 'geared' towards battle specifically. As to Jasnah being an outlier, that is a big statement considering we 1) haven't seen more that transformation from her; and 2) she is the only one of that order we have seen. The ones I see that could be particularly pertinent to battle would be Leading, Protecting, Brave, Creative, Wise, Careful, Resolute, and Resourceful. Argument could also be made for Dependable, Confident , and Obedient. The attributes that seem most exclusively pertinent to battle are Protecting and Brave. In other words, I don't think the ideals are the most reliable guide to the sorting the battle roles of each of the orders. Particularly when we have such a small sample of information.
  14. The difference is, in the example that Brandon gave, there is no change in states of matter. Only the rigidity of the matter in it's present state is changed.
  15. Accidental worldhopping could happen. Consider, Shallan pops into Shadesmar and decides to do some substantial exploring. During such exploring she wanders in to portions of Shadesmar which correspond to another world and she decides to pop out of Shadesmar and says 'What the nut?! I don't think we're in Karbranth anymore Toto.' Though she would have intentionally went to Shadesmar and intentionally wandered. She did not intend to travel to another world. I suppose it depends on how accidental you mean.
  16. I think Gaz would have been noted by at least someone in Bridge four if he were among the bridgemen.
  17. They wouldn't have been called Parshendi back then. Recall, Gavilar? (either that or stormwardens who were with Gavilar) coined the term Parshendi based off of the name Parshmen. If I recall, the name means something like Parshmen who can think.
  18. I think, ambiguous. But, very interesting. Gives some good context. Thanks for the info Robot.
  19. Ooh nice! Did you record it? Or Mi'ch or Josh? Someone?
  20. That is something that is as yet unknown. It was theorized that atium played a significant role in this, but Brandon said nope.
  21. May I recommend this index document to aid you in your reading. It may prove useful to you, eojsmada.
  22. I thought it looked a bit GRANDer than that. Beautiful light in all those shots. Did you do those, Natans? Stunning!
  23. Sounds like a browser issue. But, I would start with some periods first.
