  1. *insert Jake Peralta line-up scene* I was bored.
  2. Nah, it's more how they act. I dislike honorspren for their culture, but windspren have that element of freedom, of play, of innocence in how they act that I love. Similar to syl, and in a lot of ways Design. That element of freedom, of being unable to be bound, of purity is why they're my favorite no sentient spren. It's best summed up in what Kaladin is thinking while fighting shardbearers in WoR: "You could not kill the wind. You could not stop it. It was beyond the touch of men. It was infinite" Sorry if that was wordier than what you were looking for.
  3. Cryptic for me too! Favorite non sentient for is windspren though.
  4. Hi! Welcome! What is your favorite type of spren? (Sentient and non sentient) Also, you should take the cookie. ...I cannot be the only person that thinks this phrasing sounds really bad out of context.
  5. A firebender, from Avatar the last Airbender. Because I want to be able to throw fire at people and breath fire and cool stuff, I think I would be able to learn lightningbending, and I enjoy the style of martial arts firebending is based off of. "Why am I so bad at being good?" – Zuko.
  6. Not all math is ew. Just calculus.
  7. Azula's fire from AtlA blue. Well I don't know! *falls to my death* Yes. she was my great grandmother, and was born in 1910. 16 average sized grapes without crushing them. If I crush them a bit, 25.
  8. 102 years and 10 months.
  9. Blue! (most recently) bright blue and navy. What is the average velocity of an unladen swallow?
  10. A lot of people have made these, it looks fun, and I am bored. So I made one.
  11. Cool! You should if you get the chance.
  12. Yes. So, to be a little clearer, HEMA is practicing as if you are unarmored with sharps. But even so, grappling happens often because there is one very important fact about blades that people forget: a blade can only cut if it can slide. (If your sword was sharp enough to cut with out that at the beginning of the fight, I can assure you it isn't now. And you shouldn't sharpens them that much, as it wears it out a lot faster)
  13. You could. Honestly, once you get close the sword becomes a hindrance more than a help. And of course we train with feders (blunt swords) and protective gear, cause we know allll too well how lethal swords can be.
  14. yes. My friend who introduced my to Jedi was one of those. Even scarier are the ones that have been doing it that long, and are frustrated about a physical disability (he has a heart condition) and so compensate. I can just about beat him 45% of the time now, and only cause I can drag out the fight enough that he runs out of breath.
  15. Yeah, and if you've seen some longsword work done, then you know that all you need to do is get in close and then it becomes a grappling match and I'd be destroyed.
  16. Alk the same right now, but we are planning on separating them in the future. So far, everyone who's joined are either very fit adults, or crazy skillful children.
  17. Dang it, I wish I could spar you. I'd probably lose, but it would be so fun.
  18. No, as far as we know now. This program is only 11 years old, I was one of the first 15 people to join, and grandmaster just finished the ranking system.
  19. That is typos, cause I didn't proof read. Taln (#1talnfan), and catch.
  20. It is actual colored belts, and the least complicated and strictest program at that academy rank wise, cause our grandmaster wanted to simplify things. The ranks are based primarily on skill mastery, but also have a general estimate of how long you are usually at that rank. The ranks go: White (trial belt, to see if you'll stay in the class.): 1 month. Sand: 3 months. Brown: 6 months. Gold: 12 months. Green: 18 months. Blue: 2 years. Purple: 2 years. Red: 2 years. Grey (apprentice): 3 years. Black: mastery of the program. I have been going for about 10 years, going to class twice a week, and practicing at home every day for an hour or two.
  21. Ha! yeah, I introduced her to my Jedi program, and she introduced me to HEMA. It is cool. I actually tested a month or so ago, where I jumped up three ranks. Now I have two years to train for my black belt.
  22. I just found this thread! I do a very recent program that was invented based off of the Jedi in star wars, so we do some parkour, gymnastics, acrobatics, judo, hapkido, aikido, and Japanese sword work rolled into one. I also do HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) specifically German longsword and montante.
  23. (I know this is late but) If you can do one push up, balance on one leg for 10 seconds, and play a good game of catch, say for about 15 minutes at speed without missing more than three times, you can beat Taln in a sword fight if you practice basic German longsword work for two months. It takes a bunch of dexterity, but very little strength to beat someone in a sword fight. (note: use protective gear and blunt swords.)
