    Granted. Now no one has Sanderson books for free. I wish I could perfectly coordinate and know when, and have the ability to, be on the shard at the right points not to miss anything interesting/importent, and still get all my work and sleep done.

    The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett. It's part of the Death arc of the Discworld series. (note, Death, is a character. He is introduced as the Anthropomorphic Personification of Death. He likes cats.)

    Agreed. , Some advice I got from a book: "You can't give her that!' she screamed. 'It's not safe!' IT'S A SWORD, said the Hogfather. THEY'RE NOT MEANT TO BE SAFE. 'She's a child!' shouted Crumley. IT'S EDUCATIONAL. 'What if she cuts herself?' THAT WILL BE AN IMPORTANT LESSON.” This is an exchange between the mother of a little girl receiving a sword, and the a strange combination of Death incarnate, and creepy Santa.
