  1. Glad to see this space being so positive. I’ve been through some heavy mental health stuff myself, anxiety and burnout mostly, and joining communities like this made a big difference. I also got a lot out of therapy sessions I started through Legacy Healing Center a while back. They focus a lot on building structure and healthy routines, not just the "talk about it" part, which really helped me stabilize.
  2. It’s probably because Big DHMO has done an excellent job keeping the dangers under wraps. Next thing you know they’ll be putting it in baby formula and calling it “essential”…
  3. I find that concept really compelling, the idea of the eighth dynamic as a kind of open-ended reach toward the infinite, rather than a fixed belief in a specific deity. It leaves space for personal interpretation, which honestly feels more honest than just checking a box labeled "God". Do you see it more as a symbolic framework or something experiential?
  4. Learning Spanish can be much easier than it seems. If you're looking for something from home and without complicated schedules, AnnaSpanish offers personalized classes for beginners. I've been learning it for about 4 months now and am more than satisfied with the results.
  5. I like the theory, but I think Elhokar was a missed opportunity. He had the signs, the cryptic visions, the truths, but he never fully bonded with a spren. Once that moment passed, he was done. Hoid taking the Cryptic feels like confirmation. Maybe he's not entirely gone, but the idea of him being secretly alive feels too convenient.
  6. I like this theory. Ishar taking Odium’s Investiture and forming a direct connection could explain how the Everstorm got to Roshar. It also answers the question of why it happened when it did. If the other Heralds were infected too, it makes sense why Odium’s influence is so strong now. It feels less like a coincidence and more like part of a bigger plan.
  7. I think this theory makes sense. Odium’s focus on the Shattered Plains is likely about the Perpendicularity underneath, not the land itself. It’s a powerful source of Investiture, and controlling it would give him an edge, not just for the Contest, but for what comes after. It makes his push for the Plains feel more strategic.
  8. When my partner and I first started dating, there were definitely some awkward silences. We both had a lot on our plates – work stress, personal issues – and it was hard to fully connect sometimes. We'd both try to distract ourselves by talking about random things, but it felt forced, like we were trying too hard to fill the space. It wasn't that we didn't enjoy each other's company, but we were both still figuring out how to really communicate in this new stage of our relationship. We weren't sure how to keep things light and natural, and that left us feeling a bit disconnected, even though we liked each other a lot. Then one day, my partner suggested we check out some help online. She thought it might help us with the whole 'keeping the convo going' thing. After reading a lot of info, like this article, we both realized it wasn't about having something to say all the time, it was more about just understanding each other and being there. We started trying out some of the advice online, and things definitely got better between us.
  9. I really like the line from Words of Radiance, “Honor is dead, but I'll see what I can do.” It's just so raw and makes you feel the weight of the character's struggle.
  10. I'd say go for the secret projects first. They’re pretty fresh, so reading them now feels like a good call before Wind and Truth. As for White Sand, the omnibus was okay for me too, but the prose version should hit different.
  11. Just one of those annoying delays that happens sometimes, especially with bigger orders. I wouldn’t worry too much yet.
  12. "Shadows for Silence" got left out because it’s bundled in Arcanum Unbounded. The other short stories are the same—originally published in anthologies, so they’re not listed separately.
  13. Hey Brooke, welcome! It’s awesome to hear you're into mapping out magic and exploring different theories, it’s a fun rabbit hole to go down.
