  1. Just to clarify, are we adding things to the list at their most powerful, including when they're a cognitive shadow? Kelsier may not have been super powerful while he was physical alive, but he's had a while to gain power as a cognitive shadow, so I imagine he's become more powerful than he was when he was just a mistborn in the physical realm.
  2. How is Connection gained? It might not be totally implausible for them to gain Connection with other shards, especially in an increasingly interconnected Cosmere. Once they have this connection, the Oathpact could work to lock out Retribution because it would be supercharged with all the other Shards' power.
  3. Yes, which makes it sentient, or self-aware and intelligent. Sapience is the ability to make wise decisions based on knowledge you have, which I don't think Honor quite has. I heard its intelligence is comparable to that of a 7 year old.
  4. I think that's totally a possibility if a Dawnshard is involved. The Shattering seemed like a pretty clean cut into sixteen portions, as opposed to the messy destruction Odium has brought upon several Shards, because the Dawnshards were used. Are you saying that Wit has stayed close to the Dawnshard on purpose, so if a 4+ Shard event happens, he can use the Dawnshard to minimize the damage? That's my personal theory, beyond just the fact that the Dawnshards are powerful things that have to be kept track of.
  5. I think @Nitpicking meant the Vessels, not the Shards themselves
  6. I think that unless something changes, Retribution will absolutely destroy Harmony. Taravangian is more clever and conniving than Sazed ever was. Harmony was barely able to prevent the invasion of a single shard on his domain, so I think a double shard as clever as Retribution would be far more successful. I don't think such a direct, unchanged, or unaided battle will ever go down though. I think Harmony will become Discord, a third shard will join the fray, or something else will happen to change the power balance between these forces.
  7. I agree with this. This idea seems to hold true for both Harmony and Retribution. I think with each Shard they gain, they will also become more limited in how they can use this increased power without upsetting one or more of the Shards they hold. This makes sense because every action they take can't contradict any of their Shards' Intents without dissatisfying at least one of them and risking losing the Shard Personally, I think this increased limitation might outbalance the benefits of increased power until they gain at least 4-5 shards. As they gain more Shards, it should become harder and harder to justify any action they take, but once they do justify it, they can throw a ton of power into that action.
  8. I agree that if autonomy had a powerful enough avatar that it might have a higher chance of splitting into two main bodies of power or shards. I also had another idea on this strain of thought. A portion of the power of Honor was syphoned by Syl away during the formation of Retribution so the new Oathpact could be formed and protected. I'm not sure how much power she took, but if it was more than the Stormfather's power, who was able to contend with a Shard for a short time, she might be on the level of a powerful enough avatar to fully split from the power of Honor into another Shard in the future. This kind of event would definitely need to involve one or more Dawnshards or another Shard to make it happen. Maybe a very skilled Shard would be able to make a clean cut between Syl and the Honor in Retribution.
  9. You're someone else, not Superman
  10. Thanks! I would spend it with Kelsier, the last twenty four hours before he dies, because his take on life would be interesting once he knew he was about to die, and Adonalsium, because, I mean ADONALSIUM I would be a Lurcher. I feel like we have a lot of examples of people who have mastered steel pushing, but not anyone who's mastered their iron ability. I feel like it would be like a Spider-Man affect, especially in the end of era two style cities. Also, you could be like "accio random metal object", and it would work, which would be dope Are we nothing to you? Whoa whoa whoa, I said "a ton of friends", which implies more than just you and Superman
  11. I'd have to go with Sel(assuming I have Access to stamps or the Aondor), because I think the politics and conflicts happening there are gonna be super cool.
  12. My favorite magic system is the surges, stormlight, and spren system on Roshar for two reasons: a. The whole system for gaining more power is reliant on self-improvement, which I think is super cool/unique, and Brandon incorporates it incredibly naturally. b. The powers, weapons, and their applications are just super dope. Plain and simple, they're just on the same level of awesomeness as things like dragons and wizards, but they're things I've never seen before.
  13. Thanks! My favorite types of spren have got to be anticipationspren for emotion spren and cultivationspren for Radiant spren. My favorite allomantic metal is Iron(Lurcher) and favorite Feruchemical metal is Zinc(Sparker(stores mental speed))
  14. Hey guys! I'm Earless Jaks, and I'm coming up on two years since I started reading Brandon Sanderson's books. I've read The Rithmatist, most of the Cytoverse, and all of the Cosmere. My favorite book of his is The Emperor's Soul, and my favorite character of his is Adolin from The Stormlight Archives. I don't have a ton of friends that I can talk about Sanderson's books with, so that's what I'm here for!
  15. Thanks! I have two questions. I own copies of most of the Cosmere, but I don't yet have the main Stormlight Archives series(WoK, WoR, OB, and, RoW). Without the books on hand, how do people get quotes from the books? Is there a website or some other resource I'm missing, or do people just own the books? Secondly, in what part of the books does this happen? I've missed this in my rereads so far, and it sounds super cool! Sorry, I'm pretty new to the shard, and I'm not sure how to delete a quote/hidden item when responding.
  16. Don't know if everyone knows about this, but there's this little tidbit in WoK where Syl explains to Kal that nature(including spren) is Harmony, and humans are Discord. This calls back to that one Terris prophecy on Scadrial that says that Harmony will eventually shift into discord. Somehow Syl seems to have intrinsic knowledge about this, perhaps from her life with her previous Radiant, or maybe even earlier when Honor was alive. Just thought this was super interesting
