How do I get into DND and all that type of stuff?
kpShadowFox replied to strmblsd's topic in General Discussion
MY FRIEND THE OOKLA, YOU HAVE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE! I am an avid D&D player, and I can tell you that if you can con your friends into playing dnd just once, they will love it. i.e. I did that myself. Barring that, go scream in some online forum(like the 17th shard) or a discord server to find people who'll play with you. I'd offer to let you join one of my campaigns, but they don't have a set schedule, per say. We normally just play whenever everyone is free. But the campaign is set in the cosmere, and yes there are the cosmere magic systems in it. DM me if you are interested, and I'll get my friends to actually make a schedule(we should have done that a while ago). If you have an IPhone, we do it in an apple group chat, and actually play via a group facetime audio call. I'd recommend the website: https://5e.tools/ It has ALL the books including the recently updated Players Handbook. here is a good guide on how to make a character sheet: https://www.wikihow.com/Create-a-Dungeons-and-Dragons-Character And if you have Adobe Acrobat and don't want to calculate things yourself, I've attached 2 pdfs that will automatically do the calculations for you. Dewdrop’s wings fluttered as she tilted her head, the curiosity practically glowing in her emerald eyes. "A Plotblade, you said? That name alone has me itching with questions! Is it a weapon forged from the threads of fate itself? A blade that shapes destinies as it cuts? Oh, please, you have to tell me—what makes it so special?" She paused, her gaze softening as she hovered a bit closer, her voice dropping to a gentle tone. "And... forgive me for prying, but when you mentioned the Plotblade, you seemed... well, you shuddered. Something about that memory spooked you, didn't it? What happened, if you don’t mind sharing? It’s alright if you’d rather not, but I can’t help but feel there’s a tale there—a story that needs to be told, even if only in whispers." Dewdrop’s demeanor brightened again as she twirled in the air, her silver hair catching the light like spun moonlight. "Now, about Ookla the Unintelligible! That’s a name to remember. What sort of quest were they on? Were they as baffling as their name suggests? Did you have to decode riddles or translate their cryptic babbling? Oh, please tell me they were one of those endearingly odd types who somehow always manage to save the day despite all odds!" She floated closer, her wings shimmering with excitement. "I’ll admit, I’m not the type to let a mystery lie—I’d sooner leap through a hundred thorny bushes than leave a question unanswered! I promise not to poke too hard, though... just maybe a little nudge." She smirked with a playful gleam in her eye, clearly enjoying the art of asking questions far more than giving them space to go unanswered. Natsu’s ears perked up, his eyes widening slightly as he crossed his arms and leaned back on one foot. "You built this planet?" he repeated, a note of impressed disbelief in his tone. He gave a low whistle. "Well, that certainly beats most of my accomplishments during my many years of wandering. Color me humbled, Sequence. Guess you really are the Narrator of all Narrators." He glanced around at the gathering, his sharp gaze scanning the crowd. "An occasion of peace, huh? Admirable, but ambitious. Especially if some of these guests are more interested in holding grudges than holding hands." His voice carried a faint trace of skepticism, though his smirk remained. "Still, I can’t fault you for trying. Nothing wrong with shaking the cosmere up a bit for a good cause." Dewdrop fluttered closer, her wings shimmering brightly as she smiled. "Ooooh, I like her!" she exclaimed, clasping her hands together. "A creator, a dreamer, and a mediator? Sequence, darling, you’re an inspiration." Her expression softened as she gestured grandly to the gathering. "And you’ve brought all these lovely people together. If anyone can pull off a party of peace, I’d wager it’s you." Quagmire, as always, remained silent. His katana rested lightly against his shoulder as he shifted his weight. "Peace is fragile. Hope it holds." He said no more, his eyes flicking briefly to Natsu and Dewdrop as if gauging their thoughts. Natsu sighed, his mischievous demeanor softening as he addressed Sequence directly. "Well, you’ve got yourself quite the crowd, and we’re here now, too. If you need a clever fox, a charming fairy, or a... brooding enigma to help keep things smooth, you know where to find us. Here’s hoping your vision comes true, Sequence. It’d be nice to see peace last for once."- 111800 replies

Natsu chuckled, flicking his tail with amusement at Quagmire's abrupt response. "Straight to the point, as always. Don’t worry, Sequence—he’s a man of few words, but he lets his actions do the talking. Usually with a bit of... cosmic obliteration thrown in for good measure." Turning to Dewdrop with a raised eyebrow and a grin, he added, "And here I thought I was the dramatic one. Dewdrop, you’re setting the bar impossibly high. But I’ll admit, her flair is one of the reasons we keep her around. That, and the fact that she can disarm a trap faster than I can rig one." Natsu turned back to Sequence, his smirk softening into a genuine smile. "So, Sequence, your move. We’ve talked about us. What about you?"- 111800 replies

Quagmire regarded Sequence with an expression that was neither cold nor warm—simply measured. “Quagmire. A wanderer through silence and shadows. A void where others fear to tread.” His gaze then shifted to Natsu, “Your turn, fox.”- 111800 replies

Imma say now that I am NOT writing the dialogue for Dewdrop myself, as I am terrible at coming up with things to say, and she likes to talk a lot. I used ChatGPT(So don't praise or hate me for the text) Dewdrop fluttered her shimmering wings, the iridescent glow casting playful patterns on the ground as she giggled. "Oh, introductions! I do love a bit of flair when making a first impression." She curtsied, her emerald-green eyes sparkling with mischief. "Dewdrop Morningrose, at your service! Assassin, fairy, wanderer extraordinaire, and, if I may say so, the most delightful thing you'll meet today. Or ever, really." She leaned forward slightly, one hand resting on her slender rapier, the other gesturing dramatically. "A bit about me, you ask? Well! I have a particular talent for blending whimsy with a touch of lethality. My hobbies include fluttering where I please, painting the skies with light, and ensuring my targets never see me coming—until it's far, far too late." Her grin widened, impish and teasing. Glancing at Natsu and Quagmire, she added with a laugh, "Of course, traveling with these two is quite the adventure. Natsu keeps things dazzlingly chaotic, and Quagmire? Well, let’s just say he’s the strong, silent type. You know, the broody one who secretly adores my charm. Isn’t that right, dear?" She shot Quagmire a cheeky wink, her wings twitching playfully. "But enough about me," she continued, hovering closer to Sequence. "What about you? Got a story to share? I do love a good tale."- 111800 replies

"I am known by many names, Most Holy Sliver of Natsu, OB33905-HJE3D, Crazy Fox. But you, you may call me Tiffany Natsu." "That Elf over there is Quagmire, he's an ennuller, and the fairy yapping at him, her name is Dewdrop."- 111800 replies

I HAVE RETURNED!!!!! Natsu, Quagmire, and Dewdrop appear at in Sequence's World. They seemed to have had a few adventures of their own, with lots of sticks in their hair, and they even had their weapons drawn and were panting from exhaustion, as if they had just escaped from a battle. They start talking to each other in whispers, and, after spotting peple they know, move over to the aforementioned peple(also known as the buffet crew). "Greetings, again. It has been a while. A few things came up and one thing led to another and that's why we three haven't been able to assist y'all. *glances to the left and right* I hope we're not interrupting anything." - Natsu Dewdrop is speaking yapanese to Quagmire, and practically ignores the crew. She zips over to the food table, grabs an absurd amount of food for her size, and zips back over to Quagmire, continuing to yap away as she munches on food.- 111800 replies

Applied Math: Dungeons and Dragons Edition
kpShadowFox posted a blog entry in Adventures With Shadow and Fox
Welcome back to... wait... nope, I was wrong, it seems like this is the FIRST [redacted] in this series, Applied Math! In this series I will be going through different uses of the "useless" and "meaningless" math that you are forced to sit through day after day all throughout school. Today we will be going over the use of Algebra and Calculus when playing Dungeons and Dragons! This all started a few years back, when my friends and I made a group and started playing DND all the time. We each had our own campaigns, and we jumped between them because it was lots of fun. In my campaign (yes it was inspired by the cosmere) I homebrewed a skill point system. In essence, whenever a player killed something, they received a certain amount of skill points(SP, not to be confused with Silver Pieces(I won't be discussing silver Pieces here today)). It was decided that the max CR would be worth around 50 SP, a CR of 0 would be worth around 0.05 SP, and that it would be mostly linear until around CR 20. I needed to create an equation that satisfied these requirements. I used my good ol pal Desmos to help me with this. In the end I ended up with the horrendous equation: Well, I suppose that this is a slightly different version(it has a better shape) of the one I made, which was a combination of the equations: and The equation I made was: which made a graph that looks like: Players are able to, as they collect SP, unlock unique skills and purchase "cheats" such as editing how a spell works (of course all of this was up to the dungeonmaster, or DM). This was based on a few things, such as the system and skill points from Solo Leveling, unique skills from That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, and the "cheats" was actually a request from one of the players. The useful thing about this graph is that the DM can use it still even if they homebrew monsters with CRs of higher than 30 to counter the skills that the players are now able to attain. Goodbye All, and I hope you tune into the next installment of this series, Applied Math! (now if you could be kind as to press play on the video below for the outro song) Don't worry sillies, this isn't the end of the episode. Ill be adding more to it as time goes on so make sure you pay attention -
I'd have to go with Grian and Mumbo as my favs. *remembers the Tree War*
