    I am a Latter Day Saint, for reference. In many ways, I believe this is like asking the purpose of math. Yes of course there is a purpose, and I'll get to that in a second, but I believe it simply is. Its true. Anyway, purpose. Religious people tend to live longer, have better mental health, and even better physical health. (for Latter Day Saints especially bc of the word of wisdom). So religion gives you individually a better life. But the huge benefits are for society. A society of people who believe there are inherent reasons to be good (or at least decent) law abiding citizens will flourish. Religious people also tend to have more families, which is a recipe for more productive adults trying to provide for their children, wanting the best for the worlds future, being contributing citizens. Aaaand my computers about to die but I think that's most of what I wanted to say.

    If you are in a place where you can excuse yourself for a moment to the restroom or something, do. Focus on slowing down your breathing and your thoughts. If I am having a mild panic attack, sometimes an ASMR video can help. If that isn't your vibe, just some basic meditation where you calm your thinking and picture a safe place helps. Prayer and scripture study is also amazing, if you are religious. Go on a walk somewhere without cars whipping past. Sit on a bench in nature and calm yourself. Listening to calming music - I like the piano guys, most of their music is just simple but beautiful instrumental covers of more popular songs and is usually pretty chill. I would advise against listening to sad or angry music because although it may feel cathartic and match your mood, your goal is to change your mood, not agitate it further. You may not feel you have time for some of these, but everything else in your life will go smoother and faster when you are at peace. These are pretty general tips and there may be better things to do depending on what specifically is triggering your panic attacks.
