  16. @BlueWildRye “DON’T LISTEN TO HIM! DO YOU WANT TO BE LIKE THE INFERIOR TRASH THAT BOWED TO THE DEMANDS OF THE TRIBUTES!”
  17. … I already have my next character semiplanned.
  18. So, at the very end, we learn that Odium found a version of Dalinar, the “Blackthorn”. An evil, war hungry monster. But more importantly, an Honor aligned monster, as well as a Retribution aligned monster. Before this, we learn that Honor created a consciousness for Tanavast right after abandoning him and Odium killing him. In the Dalinar situation, Honor left Dalinar and Odium immediately killed him… very similar to what happened to Tanavast and stemming from the same debate. But there are some key differences. Dalinar, in this situation, left Honor - even after Honor offered to forgive him. Honor likes Dalinar. Honor has had all the time in the world to watch him, and wants Dalinar back. The Blackthorn did not disappear after Retribution was forged, so it is not of Stormlight. But it could be of Warlight - Honor wished to give Dalinar the same thing they gave Tanavast, but became part of Taravangian before it could. So it recreated Dalinar, but the part of him that it most agreed with. The hateful though oath abiding monster that burnt the Rift. So I think the Blackthorn is a result of Taravangian’s power already acting autonomously. Already straining against Taravangian, and exposing weakness that even Dalinar thought would take decades to even start to show. This is just a stray thought, so… I’m accepting (constructive, please) criticism.
  19. Also, you would be my granddaughter’s cousin. Maybe. Well, if I am Haly’s grandfather, there is relation, but very strained.
  20. HEY HOW COME I WASNT PINGED! This seems so interesting! I agree here. The whole point of this thread is to highlight different styles of writing, so giving something concrete kinda defeats the purpose.
  21. Weaponry was what I put b4 i knew what would be available… It is what I put down in the possessions section. Being more specific, the IMP would be an anti-Stormlight IMP, as that seems to have the most myriad use. The thing about the baton is that it is much more discrete than a canon. An assassin’s weapon, lighter and more mobile. Perhaps the Baron, for most effectiveness, would be something like a jagged/hooked blade instead of a baton. Rid them of their investiture and then deal the most damage possible. (I know it’s a bit strange that my character would have that, but my idea rn is that this stems from his rage against those who most misuse their powers, people who would be much too protected to just bust in for an all-out assault.)
