  1. So there is a possibility that the cryptic that Elokhar sees need not bond with him? As they seem to be visible to almost everyone.
  2. Then Parshendi could actually be the people who were residents of Urithiru! ?
  3. Dawnsingers seem to be closely related to dawnshards and dawnchants. We know that dawnshards can bind any creature human or voidish. So it has to be something common to both honor and odium considering that odium is behind voidbringers. If so, then they have to be shards of adonalsium which is common to honor odium and cultivation and can bind any of those. Someone bonded to dawnshards could be referred to as dawnsingers and their songs/chants as dawnchants. *wild speculation*
  4. If darkness is a herald then he is or at least was well acquainted with knight radiants of old. So he actually knows a lot about each of the 10sects more accurately than anyone else right now (Brandon and Peter not included and I have a feeling good shouldn't be included either). It would make tracking a lot easier if he knows what to look for and where as he would know how exactly a surgebinder would act in a particular situation. In Ym's interlude that boy might have been actually sent by darkness to authenticate before executing. Only time darkness darkness was caught unaware was when Lift used food to process stromlight.
  5. If darkness has some method of tracking storm light usage or investiture. He would likely have found kaladin earlier itself while he is doing his bridge runs. Or at least now after his shenanigans near the tower while saving dalinar.I believe he has some other method of tracking people. If he sees any involvement in a murder as justification enough then he will have tracked kaladin much earlier when he was siphoning off stromlight even without his awareness and killed him. I think he tracks people who are considered strange and different by others. I think he considers banding with a spren as crime enough to warrant an execution. So maybe he doesn't need a moral justification as it has been pointed out in Ym's interlude.
  6. . I don't think there is a second Lift interlude in words of radiance at least. Can't seem to get enough of her though. Hopefully we'll get to see more of her interludes in the upcoming books..
  7. 1. Szeth Vs Kaladin, Jasnah and Shallan 2. Shallan Vs Darkness 3. Kaladin Vs Darkness 4. Szeth Vs Darkness 5. Amaran-Jasnah-Kaladin 6. Adolin -Shallan-Renarin 7.Mr.T 8.Loads and Loads of awesomeness!
  8. Considering that Darkness seems to need a moral justification for going after people with surge binding capabilities(Ym's past, Lift's thefts), there's a better chance that he will be going after Shallan rather than Jasnah, given her mysterious dark past. He might have realised her abilities but going after the royalty of a Kingdom with no justification whatsoever when you're an invited guest of a peace treaty seems like stupidity, something no one in their right minds will ever try. It can never happen! oh.. Wait.. it did happen didn't it? On the Same night! Well what are the odds of two royalties dying in the same night huh? Also Jasnah is hiding her abilities with a broken soulcaster or so I think. I don't think darkness is able to see the sprens as he doesn't seem to be aware of or doesn't seem to mind Wyndle talking to lift and epping her out.
  9. Can the gem/stone behind the cultivation/void binding chart be the one that Gavilar had?
  10. Brandon says we've seen other splinters. Nightblood is odd. It is sentient albeit a bit cuckoo . It does have Vasher caring for it but he doesn't hold it. It kinda fits the description I guess. Does Brandon say it is not a splinter somewhere specifically?
  11. A splinter is a term used by certain people in the cosmere for power of Adonalsium which has no person caring for it, no…no person holding it, which has attained self-awareness. - WoB. So is NightBlood a splinter?
  12. On a lighter note, would love to see spren law enforcement and judicial system. Probably wyndle was charged for growing of illegal crystals in his garden and taken to 'The Ring' for justice. His punishment was banishment (at least partially) to the physical realm and bond with Lift.
  13. I agree ordered may not be the word. Coaxed may be. But the point is 'whoever the ring are, they can decide or guide a spren to form a bond with humans.' Which means they have access to both physical realm and cognitive realm. On a side note, crossing over has left a few holes in Wyndle's memory even after he took precautions. Is that what happened to all the sprens in roshar? Have they been forced (I use forced because since they don't have memories they didn't take the precautions as wyndle did) to appear in the phsyical realm by some unknown force?
  14. “Praise Yaezir,” he said. “Herald of Kings. May he lead in wisdom. If he ever stops drooling.” Another passage I found interesting. Seems more like a dig at Yaezir, Herald of Kings. Could Yaezir be the drunk fool in WoK?
  15. “You realize that I didn’t choose you,” he said, a face appearing in the vines as they moved. His speaking left a strange effect, the trail behind him clotted with a sequence of frozen faces. The mouth seemed to move because it was growing so quickly beside her. “I wanted to pick a distinguished Iriali matron. A grandmother, an accomplished gardener. But no, the Ring said we should choose you. ‘She has visited the Old Magic,’ they said. ‘Our mother has blessed her,’ they said. ‘She will be young, and we can mold her,’ they said. I find this odd. The spren had no choice as to whom he has to bond with unlike syl?. And he mentions 'The Ring'. Who and what could be the ring?
  16. Maybe it was what actually happened to Adonalsium. BS confirmed somewhere that people of Roshar are more cosmere aware. If it was what happened then I'm sure 'The one who is both male and female' is a dragon.
  17. Tarah is Jasnah...
  18. Is there any known person apart from hoid who uses light weaving? Might the flute hoid gave to Kaladin have anything to do with light weaving?
  19. So the splintering was clean and did not have any "shard wastage"? If they did have "shard wastes" or tiny splinters no matter how small they may be compared to the 16 shards, then they will still have enough investiture to influence a single person or making or becoming an artefact? Something like moon sceptre? roughly same amount of power doesn't mean clean splinters.
  20. I don't know if this has been discussed but did adonalsium splinter into 16 shards of equal investiture? or with varying levels of investiture more like a asymmetrical splinter?
  21. Is it possible that voidbinding is Cultivation's as Surgebinding is Honor's? both get their powers from the storm light? Surgebinding being end positive and voidbinding being end negative?
  22. This theory is a pure speculation of mine. I believe the oathpact is between Honor and Cultivation. I know this has been put forward by many others too. Let me explain why this is so. Theory: Oath pact is between Cultivation and Honor to fight against Odium each time during the desolations. Desolations are the coming of Odium to splinter the shards in Roshar and destroy it in the process. SO Cultivation and Honor make a pact that the person speaking the oaths of Honor will recieve powers from the Highstorms which are of cultivation. The bonding is faciliated by sprens which are of Honor initially. Heralds are those who come to announce the arrival of desolations and to lead men for the upcoming battle during desolations. I think Honor over extended itself and invested too much in the heralds and the honor blades. So when the Heralds broke the oath pact, Honor was significantly weakened which made it easier for odium to splinter honour. Only hiccup is how the sprens and stormlight were changed after honor was splintered. Since oaths are being spoken once again.. Can the shard honor be remade? What happened to the splinters of honour? Kindly discuss,..
  23. Thanks for producing the interview. Yes I meant the shardsplates and shardblades..
  24. During Kaladin's dream during Highstorm, He travels across shattered plain and notes that there is a tower in the Centre of the Shattered plains and it forms a pattern. In the prologue, the heralds abandon their honorblades in a spire like structure. The parshendi vigourously defends the tower unlike anything else. Could this tower be where the Heralds abandoned their blades thereby shattering the oathpact and the land itself?
  25. 1. Didn't Sanderson say that all sprens are a mix of honor and cultivation in varying degrees? so all the powers of the orders can't come from honor alone can it? 2. I don't think Shardblades are of Odium.. I think when the Radiants abandoned the shardblades, they lost something... Maybe the intent has to be right.... I think Syl hates it because of what they're now. Maybe Odium changed sonething in it. Twice Dalinar had the shardblade and plate glowing/almost glowing when he was acting honourably. Once when he saved Elokhar and once when he saved Kaladin. Maybe that is what is missing. I still don't think Dalinar will be a KR.
