    we should probably get back to the plot. Cricket stepped through the portal, shuddering. He didn't like traveling by others portals. They were different. He reached to his eyes and removed the contact lenses that made his eyes seem brown. They were truly violet. He'd gotten the contacts years ago to disguise himself, but that seemed unimportant now. Also, they hurt.
