    see the problem with Mat turning to the Shadow is it destroys his character arc. Of all the characters, Mat is the least ambitious following the dagger incident (besides maybe Perrin), he has sheer stubborn loyalty.

Another voice. "Duel." "Duel." Johnny went silent. The hall was silent, waiting for him. He nodded, took a deep breath, and unhooked his lightsaber. The blade formed, long, and bright green, in stark contrast to the dreary hallways.
