  1. Except that we were told that there was a typo in the Ars Arcanum - that Learned/Giving is actually #5, and Just/Confident is #2. This, along with all the other indicators, puts Jasnah very strongly in #2.
  2. This post includes letters (or at least phonetics) as well as numbers. Not all of them, but some is better than none.
  3. If I understand you correctly, you're saying that you'll hit the ground with the same force as if you hadn't put up a bubble, but while you're in the bubble, other people will have more time in which to replace the ground with something soft and squishy.
  4. Check out this thread.
  5. I would like to announce that I have finished my first college final!
  6. Heh. I'm not unique at all. Heck, there is both a sirreadalot .com and .org, neither of which are me.
  7. This is my random crackpot theory. I have no opinion on whether or not it is likely: What if the Aons aren't based on geography? What if the geography is based on the Aons? The land being shaped by the AonDor into a massive, complex Aon? The Reod was a shift in the patterns of the Aons, adding a line, and this put stress on the land in the location of the new line, which triggered the earthquake and caused the Chasm to open. But the drawn Aons aren't animate the same way the land was, so they had no way of adding a line, so they stopped functioning properly. There is no particular reason to think this theory is correct, or even likely, but I thought it was an interesting idea. Discuss.
  8. Also, cadmium.
  9. You're not going to freeze, as long as you bring along enough Feruchemically charged brass (which stores warmth). This thread has made me realize exactly how awesomely powerful a full Mistborn Feruchemist actually is. Given enough metal, a MF would be practically indestructible.
  10. Fist sized gems aren't any cheaper on Roshar than they are here. Szeth is a slave - how would he afford a couple of fist-sized gems?
  11. The gems in spheres are extremely small. Without the glass they'd be nearly impossible to handle.
  12. It would make far more sense for Wayne to have simply dropped the bubble. Even so, that's not what the text says. The text says they "dropped out" of the time bubble. This could be Wax misunderstanding exactly what is happening, but that's what the text says.
  13. This is genius. It makes Shallan and Jasnah sharing a power rather inconvenient, though.
  14. I don't think Miles was spiked. I'm not discounting the possibility, but it seems a difficult enough art that he couldn't be spiked accidentally, and nobody was in the position to spike him on purpose. About metalminds, remember that they don't have to pierce the skin. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if Miles did pierce his skin with his, seeing as he's often dealing with Lurchers and Coinshots when tracking down criminals. I'm more inclined to believe that any insanity in Miles derives from being shot in the head too many times. I don't care how perfectly/rapidly you can heal, a bullet through the brain is going to have mental repercussions. They would be slight, but enough bullets through the brain, and you'll be left with at least some instability. Remember, also, that Miles had difficulty healing his eye when some fabric got trapped in there when Wax shot it.
  15. Yes, but you do get the diagram in the Brandon is awesome version. You can find all the interior pictures here.
  16. When I met Brandon at a signing in November, I asked him about how much choice the Shards had in choosing the planets they ended up on, and he said that had a lot of choice, but not absolute. Make of that what you will.
  17. Have the emails gone out yet, or can I still hope?
  18. ??? If I understand your numbering order, then #2 is the purple circle second from the top left, and #6 is the yellow circle in the middle, which don't share a small circle.
  19. If Brandon is using quantum mechanics as a basis for his magic, and he's trying to be scientifically accurate, he'll probably write it so the story works, and then double check it to make sure he's not making any egregious errors. The story comes first.
  20. Note that this is only the probable order for the character focuses. It's not set in stone yet (but is highly likely). Legion is hilarious. I can't wait for the novella! (and I hope the tv deal comes through too - this is perfect for television)
  21. There's so many good scenes... One that I like from each: Mistborn: Vin coming back after killing Shan, and she says "I think I did something bad...", and everyone's gaping at her for killing a fully trained Mistborn (except for Spook, who's gaping at her for being in her underwear). Well of Ascension: Vin killing Zane, then marrying Elend Hero of Ages: Spook opening the floodgates to save the burning city. Alloy of Law: Wax appearing out of the mists wearing his mistcoat, and holding two shotguns. I could easily list many more from each, but I'm not going to.
  22. I believe the quote is (and I'm pretty sure it's in the Brandonothology, so you can verify it, "The Ars Arcanum are 'in-world' (or at least 'in-universe')." So, the AA was not necessarily written by a native of Scadrial.
  23. That's an excellent question: How would time bubbles affect wires passing in and out of them? Would data transfer normally?
  24. I think that I'd like to see a game that begins with Kelsier's catastrophic raid on TLR that resulted in his being sent to the Pits, and followed him throughout the following years until it culminated with his epic battle with the Inquisitor. The game would be more or less guided, but you would still have a decent amount of freedom, especially at the beginning. Yes, it's kind of a downer ending if you're playing as Kelsier, but I don't think it would go over too badly if done properly. Also, I still think that Mistborn is uniquely suited to make the ultimate Lego game.
  25. I agree with the awesome points, but this isn't the greatest crossover ever. That prize has already been given to Inquisitor Santa.
