    That was the “jellyfish” experiment. Well, if he was expected to make recommendations, reading it would be helpful. He picked it up, and began to scan it for useful information.

    Alright. Glass is sick of him, but Rebus could show up, tell Bat that, and tell him Tam is "dead" because Bat is being boring. I can run stuff, if you want. I don't have a world at the moment, but I'm good at improvising. Yeah, he's definitely a support character, which works well. Rebus stood there, waiting for Cricket. Yeah, I know what you're talking about. I think if I go back to actually running multiple plots and not just having Rebus mess with everything, it may help.

    I think that is something that happens to all of us. I have been told to send a character to interact with Bat so you can get momentum going. I can either take some random townsperson, or have Sagerian get there somehow (or, if you have another idea, do that). Sagerian is literally just some guy with a book. He came from an early-industrial world, and left with some random magical visitor so he could write a book about the places beyond. He writes down the things that happen to him, and his singular ability is good problem solving - in a fight, he'd be obliterated (or run away). I did. Not quite enough, though - I'm hoping the weekend will give me a chance to offset the sleep debt I accrued this week. Thanks! Yeah... I think I can take over dreamsmithery, though maybe not the Dreamsmith himself. Actually... @TwinStorm Cricket and Rose's respective combat tests paused, and Rebus appeared. "The Dreamsmith is back, it seems. I can take you there, or Cricket can." It is, though Rebus helped build it, and Symbol had taken over and renovated the place. I'm not sure whose possession it is in now. And I can keep character development far away from you - Jack needs some, perhaps, but you're quite fun the way you are. Jack was a little confused by the man talking to himself. Of course, perhaps that was normal human behavior - it wasn't like he knew many. They want you to run some sort of storyline, presumably of your choice. I guess they don't think enough is happening (this may be true)? Unrelatedly, if you have/want to make a second character, I have a Rebus-related plotline I may start (Glass is quite understandably sick of him, and Haly is already in a plotline with me).

    “Alright,” Rebus said, “now you should try changing something. I’d advise either giving yourself a body or summoning a simple object. Staying a disembodied voice is viable, though you’ll probably want to be able to act on the environment.” Rebus made an apply. Rebus Narrated an apple. An apple appeared. Rebus gestured to the three apples, “I’m not sure if you experience enough of the Thread to see the differences in what I did, but you can try all three methods - they’re almost interchangeable in result, but it’s a slightly different process.”

    Rebus doesn't control all my characters. (Though there is at least one character Rebus directly instructs... ) *return hug* I'm fine. School is ending soon, so I have a zillion things to do, but I'm getting around to them. My sleep schedule, too, is messed up, but that's mostly self-inflicted (for instance, it's after midnight right now... ). I hope you can find some time/method to sleep well and be no longer grumpy - I should probably go to bed myself.

    All my characters have approximate character arcs, but none of them really have any plots going, other than Rebus.

    Jack pointed at the castle. "That's the castle. It used to be called Entoturis, apparently. As for metaphorical direction, I'm looking for some myself." How's a plotline as a prize? Alright. (Rebus wanted her to go berserk, but I get why she shouldn't) Rebus glowered at Heir and Glass for taking away his plotlines, but Sagerian somehow managed to get to the entrance to the caverns. @Bird Furious, or I can alternately run a random character from the Eternal Mountains - or who ended up there naturally.

The ones that come after me will surpass my potential, but I’ll be the one designing them, and you will certainly not be the subject. I am a bridge to the future, a stepping stone that down the path to perfection. You may lay this stone, but you will not walk the path.”

    “And that is exactly my point. If you act with distain towards the people you are designing to be the future, you miss out on so much promise. But we were designing that very future - I will write an essay or something on why experiments should contribute and scientists should be enhance during my downtime - so are there any other mental experiments?”

    “Excellent. What I am, and what I believe you are, is a Narrator. Narrators channel Chaotic Light - pure creativity, essentially - and can use it to do practically anything. Most Narrators alter the nature of reality itself, and Narrate themselves further abilities like perceiving the true nature of the Thread - and of course, they can mind control people, create planets, clone themselves, and basically anything else they want. In ordinary circumstances, Narrators don’t have to worry about running out of power, but we can be countered by beings of similar power, and can’t make truly fundamental items like Plotblades or Fundamental Essences.” Rebus gave his monologue some time to sink in. Meat had been expecting exactly such a reaction. “Is the talking of high! Am the having of sharp, elbrag. Ffortress, unmarket. Tennis analogies, moon fur.” Meat blinked at his own devolving communication, then leapt into the air and clobbered an invisible snake with a piano frying pan.

    “Is the mission necessary? You’ve heard my ideas - imagine what you could do with dozens like me, sharing thoughts and knowledge between each other through telepathy.”

    “I could help you decide - you seem like a Narrator, and if you are one I can help you learn what your powers can do.” “Concealing this man’s numerous crimes!”

    “Part of my own experiment was an attempt to increase creativity. I think it’s a good idea to make researchers experiments and experiments researchers, actually - it helps counteract the original position fallacy, if I recall the name correctly.”

    “Yes!” Meat said (quite loudly), “I will help you get away with your numerous crimes!”

    Meat the Minstrel bounded up to him. “Hiiiii there! You’re new? Need a lawyer ?” He cackled.

    “It could be a useful avenue to look into, especially if you’re trying to make your own researchers more productive.”

    “Alright… I assume the memory problem is caused by the destruction of neurons in a way that can’t be healed back correctly. Have you tried developing telepathy and memory implanting?”

    “Are you @THE DEMON, or does he just have Authority over you?”

    “Better healing, with more redundancy, and if you can deal with the compatibility problems it can be used for grafts. You can’t come back from being dismembered or burned unless your cells can stay alive and get the necessary energy in the meantime.”

    The evil sandcastle ghost wasn’t actually all that intelligent, so it didn’t care. “Of course not. You’re obviously an Author or something similar.”

    The evil sandcastle ghost was sad again. Rebus was willing to wait.
