  1. Both Shoe and Tam burst out laughing. "Sorry," Tam said in between giggling fits, "That was such good one!" She laughed again. "Shoe says he's sorry, too!" Hey, no I didn't! Shoe said from where he was leaning on the wall for support, gasping for breath. Actually, everyone's still back at the mansion. They haven't left yet.
  2. "Shoe-? You think Shoe is terrifying?" She laughed, then clutched her side as the pain flared up for a moment. "My brother is anything but terrifying. You should'a just heard the conversation he and I had." She looked over at Bat. "Oh, speak of the devil." Shoe, who had heard the whole conversation (and had found it just as funny as Tam had), was standing behind Bat as silently and as creepily as possible.
  3. "Alright." She attempted to sit up, moving very slowly. "Fair enough."
  4. "Gods, huh? Well, thanks for telling me that I can exploit your people if their tattoos are gone." At the look on his face, she chuckled and clarified: "I'm not going to, though; that's a horrible thing to do to someone."
  5. Right though? "Ah, right. I'd forgotten. What's the backstory behind that?" Shoe nodded. Could be better- maybe a four? A little anticlimactic, if I'm being honest. He shrugged. I find it pretty funny. Nobody believes my name at first, anyway. Thank you, he said to Beosta. Then remembered she couldn't hear him. Hey, only if you're feeling up for it. If you need to rest first, you should. Uh, okay . . . bye? Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!!
  6. That's up to you. I guess Beosta and Shoe will be out there in a minute, but for now you can do whatever. You ready to go? Shoe wrote to Beosta. @The Halcyon Girl
  7. XDXD Shoe nodded, standing. Hey, Tam? What? Tam replied. Could you heal Beosta's foot? Uh, sure! Beosta's foot healed suddenly. What happened? Dragon fire, I think. I see. Unfortunate. Where're you guys going? To find Livetha. Nice, nice. How 'bout instead I just Narrate Livetha here? Um . . . Shoe hesitated. No, that's okay. I think we want to go find her on our own. Uh, alright. Have fun! Thanks. Tam chuckled to herself quietly. "Why not a Narrator?"
  8. Thanks Haly XD I mean Beosta just straight-up blushed, so This'll be fun. Yep. Shoe looked away, taking his hand off her arm. The silence stretched awkwardly. After a minute, he wrote, So . . . should we . . . go find Livetha? "What's stopping you?" she reiterated. "Uh, Asher?" Tam wasn't sure what was going on, but she let them leave.
  9. Tam's eyes narrowed. "What was that? Asher, are you okay?"
  10. Shoe's ears grew ever so slightly warm at that. Incredible? Well, uh . . . thanks. He wasn't sure what else to say. You too. Tam rolled her eyes. "Fine."
  11. Cute, huh? He chuckled. Because there's a difference between saying his name is cute and saying he's cute Well, good thing you like Shoe, he grinned mischievously, because I was absolutely trying to trick you just now. Tam didn't understand. "Why wouldn't you be able to?"
  12. "It's . . . emotion? I think that's what you're talking about." Unless they got possessed by a Withergiest, Tam thought to herself.
  13. "Power? What kind of power?" That's it? That's all you have to say? I just revealed that I've basically been lying to you since we met and all you have to say is that you don't mind?
  14. "But how would it destroy you?" Don't mind what? That I have a different name? Tam looked at Asher. "You're not dying," she said to them, "And you're not dead either. You're actually perfectly healthy now."
  15. "But why do they care so much about getting the soul far away?" Mm. Well then. He looked off into the distance for a moment. It's probably time I told you . . . Shoe's not my actual name. Yes, it does. Husheth.
  16. Shoe sighed and rolled his eyes. Of course Bacon's famous among dragons; why am I not surprised. I mean I guess emotions could be Narrated away. Does Asher want them to be taken away?
  17. Technically that would only imply that they'd been close to death before, not actually died. "What? No, you're perfectly fine." Just in case, Tam Narrated Asher to be healthy. "There." "I'm a Narrator, sweetheart. I can do things like that."
  18. Tam grinned at Asher. "I think you'll find that I can." Outside, the town began to reassemble itself. Stone and wood and metal returned to how they had been before the attack, while fires and scorch marks disappeared. Plants regrew and possessions were recreated, as if nothing had happened at all. "Go see for yourself." Where is she right now? Does that really make a difference? Adding the "bard" part?
  19. "Why not? They basically banished you, didn't they? What loyalty do you have to them still?"
  20. "He does? How so?" Oh my. Shoe stared at the dragon. Uh, thank you, Veleraxon! Tam nodded. "I should be able to put every back to how it was; give me a moment to gather by bearings."
  21. "Odd. So why did your people want the soul?" Shoe nodded. Bacon! @xinoehp512
  22. "That would be wonderful, Asher." "Why don't they fade?" Shoe, ever oblivious to these kinds of things, took this as a sign that she was in even worse pain than she let on.
