  1. She squeezed him back and sobbed into his shoulder. ohhhhhhhhhhh
  2. She hugged him back, eyes wet. "I should never have done it in the first place . . ."
  3. "This is . . . this is wrong," she said suddenly. "Gosh, you were all RIGHT! THIS IS WRONG!" She Narrated away the lock that was keeping her memories back- -and immediately fell to her knees under the weight of it all. "I'm so sorry," she whimpered. "I never should have done that . . . I didn't think it would be that bad . . ."
  4. The rest of the body had disappeared from the vent, leaving nothing but the hand and a trail of blood.
  5. She watched his hand stray to his bag. Oh, gosh . . . this was all because of what she'd done, wasn't it! But it . . . it was supposed to help . . . Well, it obviously wasn't helping, was it?! Her breathing got more and more panicked. "Maybe . . . maybe . . ." She was talking to Bat and Cricket both
  6. It bounced harmlessly off the wall.
  7. The thing covered his mouth and nose, suffocating him.
  8. "I wasn't doing what was good for me, I was doing what was good for you!" she yelled suddenly, jumping to her feet. "I KNOW THIS ISN'T GOOD FOR ME, I KNOW THERE ARE BETTER WAYS," she cried, "BUT I . . ." She took a shuddering breath. ". . . I also know how much it would devastate you to lose me," she said carefully, squeezing her eyes shut and hugging herself. "I know how much it would . . . hurt if I left, so I didn't want to leave you . . . I just didn't know what else to do . . ."
  9. Something suddenly latched onto his face, holding on relentlessly.
  10. Something quivered near his head. He couldn't quite make out what it was.
  11. we were all thinking it "Oh, oh- no, don't . . . don't be sad! I-I'm sorry, I didn't mean to . . . is this . . ." she looked at the ground again, "did I do this?" she whispered. "I-I was just trying to help! I never meant to . . . to hurt anyone. I didn't want to make you worry . . ."
  12. She pulled her hand away and stared at the ground, ashamed. "That's . . . that's not your fault," she whispered. "You did your best, I just . . . didn't really let you help me."
  13. "I needed help . . . and you're mad that you couldn't help me?"
  14. She looked at the ground. "I . . . guess that makes sense."
  15. ". . . That's not true. You're not stupid, and . . . something's definitely wrong." She scooted over and put a hand on his arm. "Please tell me . . . I just want to help . . ."
  16. Tam tried to calm her pounding heart. "Malevolence . . . I don't think . . . I don't think now is the best time," she said quietly. "Bat?" she whispered from where she sat. "Please, tell me what's wrong."
  17. She tore out of his grasp and scrambled backwards, wide-eyed. ". . . B-Bat? I don't understand . . ."
  18. She stared, wide-eyed. "I . . . I already told you . . ." she said quietly, leaning away. She'd . . . she'd never seen him like this. What was going on?
