  1. It growled, then cried out and removed its arm from Prie's tail in a spray of blood. RUN!
  2. "So why would you do this to her?" it growled again, raising its other arm menacingly. Nothing, really. "Hello!" replied a small caterpillar enthusiastically. It's mother shushed it quietly.
  3. It was too big, and didn't really do anything. The rest of the chamber was filled with an assortment of bug species. The little worm from earlier sat on the mantis' head, a teeny-tiny bandage around her midsection. "How could she scare you?" it asked, gesturing to the little worm. "No. She tells me you hurt her in purpose."
  4. Of course. Happy to help. It was an enormous, pale praying mantis. Before he could get far, it had speared one of its hooked forearms straight through his tail and into the floor, pinning him down in a rather violent way. "Why would you do this?" it hissed.
  5. Of course. The figure slapped him, flinging him against the wall. His vision cleared, however. Done. "Why would you do such a thing?"
  6. Alright. He felt a weird sort of pressure behind his eyes, but found himself able to dimly see in the darkness. A vaguely-defined, hulking figure towered in front of him. Almost done. "Yes, you. The one who hurt my daughter."
  7. I can help, I said! it repeated. "Who are you?" a deep and completely different voice boomed.
  8. I can help with that. The rest of the audible voices quieted. Something approached him.
  9. There was nothing there. PSST, repeated a little voice in his head.
  10. But he was unable to find purchase on the dirt. Whatever it was that had his leg was weirdly wet and slimy, but it tossed him to the ground after only a moment. Various voices whispered in the darkness at his arrival. Such a silly little situation you're gonna love it
  11. It dragged him backwards into a small, definitely claustrophobic tunnel, the sides if which he could feel as they scraped along his sides.
  12. Based on the echo his voice made, it sounded like he was in a large chamber of some sort.
  13. It was too dark to see anything else. He couldn't even see what he'd landed on. The distant speck of light disappeared. So be it.
