  1. I'm in the same boat. Glad to meet ya. I have read Sunlit Man but haven't read Frugal Wizard.
  2. It's very good, especially the end. I won't say anything else.
  3. That is interesting...I don't feel like you hear that much.
  4. I don't know, to me Kelsier is a poor fit for Autonomy. He's too into controlling things, Autonomy is kid of the antithesis of that. Kelsier is a perfect follower of Autonomy, but not a good autonomy if that makes sense.
  5. I re-read it. It's written as if she starts out running too fast out the start so she then slows to let the horse catch up and falls a hair behind, then slowly speeds up to match the horse perfectly. So I suspect in short bursts when she really wants to she could exceed the galloping horse number.
  6. I actually just finished Yumi, so actually it's been quite an excellent night....
  7. Here is an interesting question...who is the most terrifying non-Shard character in the Cosmere.
  8. Was it mentioned Marasi was going to be part of the search? It's been about a year since I read Lost Metal and I don't remember that, I assumed
  9. A Sectet History about Marasi's political endeavors would be interesting...but I don't really think it would be a *secret* history lol.
  10. Thank you, I didn't know that. I stand corrected.
  11. Jasnah has a lot of parallels with Kelsier in my opinion...along the lines of how she sees the world, how she is a force for good, but only on her terms. Of course Kel is much more charismatic, so it runs people the wrong way less.
  12. That's an intelligent theory, but I don't think Brandon would throw in such a specific and excitement inducing Easter egg if the explanation is just that Hoid was translating it to mean something to who he is telling the story to...just a hunch from a storytelling perspective. My assumption is that we know Scadrians will have a presence regarding space travel in the Cosmere, very possible they spent time in Lumar enough to impact some culture.
  13. Story-wise there's a reason why the Heralds are written as insane, because this isn't their story. They aren't the ones supposed to save the day. Taln is a solution Brandon has intentionally written off on purpose.
  14. Sexism is a spectrum. He says some things that could be construed as mildly sexist, but I don't think it's a core facet of who he is. He'd be on the lighter end of the spectrum.
  15. Wasn't Vin running too fast for the horse and then had to slow down to fall into pace with the horse? I could be remembering wrong.
  16. Charles Dance would have been a perfect Straff in his younger years I think. He's too old now, but it would have been great. I think Taron Egerton as Spook could have been good.
  17. Favorite "Battle" Scene is the Battle of the Tower. Favorite fight scene is either Kelsier's fight with the Steel Inquisitor in the square, or Kaladin vs. The Pursuer. Kaladin vs. Zahel gets an honorable mention as my favorite sparring match.
  18. There are things that I love about all of them, but for some reason Awakening stands out for me above the others. Maybe it's the creativity and the uniqueness and thinking of all the nuanced ways you could use it. I really love the Spren bond aspect and having a companion so that's a close second though I love the Metallic Arts as well. By battle scene do you mean any fight scene...or one involving large numbers of people?
  19. Does Kelsier count? Lol jk. I'm partial to the Lord Ruler, Todium has his moments too.
  20. Also Telsin...she's awful.
  21. Okay, so I think I have to go Riina or Liyun... But bear in mind I'm only 2/3 through Yumi so Liyun could probably change.
  22. That is a tough one...favorite characters are so much easier. I'm going to need to think on this. There's also two types of character dislike. 1. Because they are annoying or boring as a character...2. Because they've done things in the Cosmere that I detest. Thank you! Sounds like my kind of place.
  23. This was definitely my interpretation. I thought it was pretty obvious, I think the real question is where in the cognitive realm he met Aux. This is interesting and along the line of some of my thoughts.
  24. One thing I'd point out is that just about anyone with a disease they didn't believe they'd recover from would likely volunteer to become a sun heart. With the speed at which rotations happen I don't think it would be often people would die from disease before sacrificing themselves. Being invested helps with disease too.
  25. Not to be pedantic, but I believe Threnodite is the correct term Fascinating theory though, somehow Threnodite souls seem more heavily invested than most in the Cosmere, and I suspect it has to do with their ability to draw investiture from others. That may manifest in more 3ays than we currently understand.
