okay so, every week I talk with cal, and every week he sends a poem as well.

i wrote one for today but it’s late and I don’t know if sending it now would be right or seen, so you guys get my poem. I was inspired by a story he wrote me.

Charles fell

Metaphorically and literally

Oh how he fell

He fell for her 

As if she were the ocean

And he was a diver

Unafraid of the dangers

Knowing the rewards below

He fell into her

And fell for her

Eyes exchanging words

A story

A lifetime found in that moment 

Apologies exchanged

And on they both went

Could he leave it there?

What if 

What IF

What if

Thoughts flurried his mind

Like bees in a hive

Turning tail

Rushing back

No thoughts but one

Her

“Hey” he says

She turns, eyes surprised

“Yes?”

“Can I get your number?” 

A million choices could’ve been made

But one was found 

She looks, blue eyes glowing in the orange sunset 

For the first time out of what will become many times: she smiles, truly.

“Yes, you may”

Names, numbers exchanged

And a story to tell for the rest of their lives.
