  1. My name is Zinc and I approve of this project
  2. I actually never thought of this application of unsealed metalminds! I think that alder24 had it right when they said that it would probably be very inefficient, but if they could somehow figure out a way to make compounding work without being twinborn, it could be a huge possibility. I feel like the most common uses for unsealed metalminds without access to compounding would be things like emergency services stuff like that. Another idea I had was for a sort of expensive sleeping pill or a way to stay up late without much consequences (presumably). I imagine that thousands of college students would be hooked on it
  3. Ok let’s do the math (All of these stats are from a quick google search) The average person eats something like 1500 pounds of food each year. Let’s multiply that by the number of people in the world. That gives us a total of 1500 * 8,100,000,000 equaling 16,167,600,000,000 pounds of food consumed annually in the world. There are approximately 100,000,000,000 packs of ramen produced and eaten each year. If each ramen pack weighs 3 ounces, and there are 16 ounces in a pound, that means that the world consumes 18,750,000,000 pounds of ramen each year. 18,750,000,000 ramen pounds / 16,167,600,000,000 food pounds = 0.011597269 This means that 1.159 percent of all food is ramen noodles. If 0.16 percent of people are named Doug, then our world is a 0.00000185556304 on the Hoid Enlightenment Scale (HES). We’ve got a while to go guys
  4. Similar to having Doug as a name being a milestone for a species. Someone should really figure out Hoid’s levels of civilization, similar to the 5 levels that we came up with as humans. Obviously peak Doug and Instant Noodles herald an advanced civilization
  5. I think that’s a good theory, but it’s probably more just the effect of kinetic investiture. We’ve seen that investiture like stormlight and lifelight make it so that you want to move, to fight, to go run for miles. (Sunlit man spoilers) Basically, while intent may vary depending on the source of kinetic investiture, the feeling of wanting to move and do something is consistent across all that we’ve seen. While there are definitely differences in the emotions influenced by lifelight, stormlight, and voidlight, increased energy is not one of them Additionally, just because the vessel for honor is dead and the power is splintered doesn’t mean that Honor’s power is not influencing surgebinding.
  6. Honor will be reforged, but Dalinar will take it. However, the vessels for Cultivation and Odium will have died, so he will take all three shards, thus becoming- get this- UNITY! (But seriously, try to come up with a better vessel for all three of those shards than Dalinar)
  7. I’ve never heard that one about the iri! Is that an established theory or just a thought? I think I’d like to look into that, but if people already talked about it then I can skip that part. But yes, I believe that trying to place adonalsium as an abrahamic God is hard. A lot of the concept of a capital g God is omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. That is at odds with being killed, unless it is part of another, bigger plan, which is why I like the point with the iri. Another point of information about this is Hoid’s correspondence with Frost. I don’t remember the specifics as it’s been a bit, but the gist of the argument was that Frost wanted Hoid to stop interfering with Adonalsium’s plan, and Hoid thought that Adonalsium had already planned for everything and he should try to do good wherever possible, as it is par of the plan anyways. If anyone can pull up the book or section that talks about that, feel free to correct some parts of that summary. As I said, it’s been a little while since i read that part. This seems to imply that Hoid seems to still believe in Adonalsium, and Hoid is ancient and extremely knowledgeable
  8. This is a little tangential, but I just want to point out the belief system of the iri. We already know that they have some wacky stuff going on. They are on their “path” and have gone from many worlds to other ones- for example Lumar and Roshar. I think that “The One” that they talk about is related to adonalsium or is adonalsium. Just some thoughts. Alternatively, we know from tress that Hoid and the 16 others did it “for your own good” (referring to adonalsium) which implies that ado was flawed, which is antithetical to a capital g God

    Hey!

My favorite magic system is definitely Feruchemy. I just feel it has so much potential for even space age cosmere. My favorite character is probably Wayne

    Hey!

That’s definitely a tough one. I’m gonna have to go with adolin, but that’s probably just because I have read stormlight archive more recently

    Hey!

My favorite book is probably the lost metal. Without going into spoilers since this is the intro section, I think that the character arc of Wayne in that book is masterful, and his line of conversation at the end is one of best parts in the entire cosmere

    Hey!

Hi guys! I’m a longtime Brandon fan and longtime reader, but today I decided to finally make an account. I am a huge commerce nerd and think the discussions here are awesome, and I want to contribute. I particularly enjoyed reading the vs battles, and tend to side with scadrial, so look out!
