Hello Everyone,
Let's see... I always have a hard time figuring out what to write in these kinds of threads... Just like I spent at least half an hour trying to decide what my username should be before I actually registered to be a member here! Anyway, I decided upon the name WindSpren and, well, here I am!
I first started reading Brandon's books after my research mentor at the University of Florida (Go Gators!!) gave me the Mistborn Trilogy for my birthday. He happened to have two sets of the books, and figured I would enjoy them since I love to read! He also suggested the Wheel of Time series to me, but at the time I was about to start my senior year of college and didn't want to get into a huge series. Alas, I loved the Mistborn series, and after which I read Elantris and Warbreaker. Unfortunately, I read them all so fast that I was only a few months into my senior year so I proceeded to start the WoT series anyway. Point being, I loved all of Brandon's books! I just (actually just a few minutes ago!) finished Way of Kings for the second time. The first time, I read the hard cover, and I just finished listening to it on audiobook. It is amazing how despite reading/listening to the book twice already, I still feel like I could read it several times more and continue to pick up on new things that I didn't notice before. I can't wait until he is able to continue work on the Stormlight Archive!! I have also preordered the Alloy of Law, and am looking forward to that coming out too! Of course I feel obligated that I am also not-so-patiently waiting for A Memory of Light to come out as well...
I am excited about posting some of my questions and theories on this forum, however it might take me a little while to go through what you guys have already posted. I don't want to sound like a broken record asking about things that have already been gone through in detail!
What else.. hmm.. I have my Bachelor's degree in Microbiology and am working at the Kennedy Space Center in a research lab. I am/will be taking night classes for the next chunk of time in preparation for applying to grad school for Biomedical Engineering. I enjoy photography, dancing, singing, watching movies and silly scifi shows, but most of all, I love reading!
Thanks! And I hope to join into some interesting conversations soon!
