  1. I just finished Emberdark and I have some worries From what we see in the book, future Scadrial doesn't seem like a very nice place, there's even a mention of the Malwish empire being fascists when Starling first goes to confront them So now I'm worried, cause we have fascists with a magic system that's transferred genetically (and based on the diminished power of diluted bloodlines, it's an autosomal recessive trait with variable expressivity, like Huntington's disease) which makes me immediately jump to eugenics We've seen the early variations of it in era 2 but with gene editing, CRISPR and other cellular machinery the possibilities are terrifying If some scadrian wanted to test the limits of what was possible and they didn't have a conscience.... I'm shivering, making everyone an allomacer/feruchemist is just the tip of the iceberg Like, could they adapt the arcane gene (allomancy/feruchemy) and transfer it to animals? Could the build a bio nanomachine that utilizes miniscule amount of metal? Would the intent of the technician be sufficient in that case? And if that's not possible, could they create unhuman abominations that their entire purpose in their "life" is to produce metalminds? So yeah, worrying
  2. Hello @Steelsight! I haven't heard your presence on the Shard for a while. Is everything alright friend?

  3. Hemalurgy! Yes! The most accessible magic in the Cosmere (if you're willing to get your hands dirty). One of the most interesting things (at least to me) about Hemalurgy is that we've only seen three types of Hemalurgic Constructs: Physical (Koloss, Kandra and Inquisitors), Mental (Kandra and Inquisitors) and "Godly" (Chimeras). What I'd really like to know is how would the Spiritual and Temporal Hemalurgic Constructs will look and their further effect on the Cosmere.
  4. Huh. I'm not a physicist/astrophysicist so I'll have to take you at your word. I guess this theory can't be true without some serious Cosmere physics shenanigans.
  5. We don't know how far the time dilatation extends around the planet, so whatever satelites the Scadrians may have or soldiers communicating with the Night Brigade ship may still get caught up in it.
  6. That's right! I forgot that we already saw an example of this. thank you!
  7. An interesting speculation. Although, since we don't know Harmoniums' effects when used in Allomancy, Feruchemy and Hemalurgy, there might be more interesting ways to use Harmonium in the futuree of the Cosmere. but now that I think about it (an I understand that thiss is entirely irrelevant to my original topic), the uses of Harmonium we see in Era 2 aren't Allomantic. Feruchemical or Hemalurgical; so I wonder if the other God Metals have other arcane effects beyond Allomancy, Feruchemy and Hemalurgy (since we know they are all viable for those, as per Brandon).
  8. Thanks! That's the plan!
  9. Do you think that people trying to take Sunhearts away from Canticle would encounter the same problem as Radiants trying to leave Roshar? As in: the Sunhearts are so Connected to Canticle just like spren are so Connected to Roshar. It's crearly a problem that's already solved in the space age of the Cosmere since we know that Radiants are not bound to Roshar by the way the scadrians asked Zellion if he took the Oaths (and because Hoid managed it' but he's special) . I just wanted to pose the question.
  10. Happy to be here! Favorite book is Oathbringer, but favorite series is Mistborn.
  11. Thanks! happy to be here In what way does compounding with unkeyed metalminds distorts the world? Would both of those conditions be satisfied if you continued to store your Identity not only through the storing of the attribute you wanted to compound but also whilst you burn the metalmind?
  12. Nice to meet you too! happy to be here
  13. Least favorite side character? I'd have to Raoden's father, sunce his actions are sickening but to the level of him being an antagonist instead of a side character.
  14. Very true. Man, I seriously can't wait for Era 3 for more theorizing material.
  15. thanks for the reply! Woohoo! That's a very realistic possibily, especially if you have your victims under duress in a controlled enviroment. though I still like my solution more (probably since I'm biased ) because it allows for a more dynamic manipulation of your Identity should you start collecting more powers.
