Also, Pushing on your bullets might give them a little extra oomph. Or maybe he doesn't want to come out as a Coinshot.

Was making Warbreaker free a good idea or a bad idea?
KChan replied to ZeldaDad's topic in Warbreaker
I'm in favor of them coming out in the order Brandon wants them to come out, honestly. But this is a discussion for another topic. If we're going to talk about his book release schedule, it shouldn't be in this thread. Getting us back on topic, I don't think I've spoken to anyone yet who thought making Warbreaker free was a bad idea. For all his publishers seemed anxious about it, it seems to have been a brilliant success. -
Okay, so, as many of you now know, The Mistborn: Alloy of Law cover and synopsis have been released! Mistborn fans rejoice! And since this is the place to discuss all things Brandon, I've started this thread for everyone to discuss this upcoming slice of awesome. There were a few things that particularly stood out to me: one is the setting. I was under the impression that this was to be a modern setting, and instead found out that it's set during a true industrial revolution, trains and all. I cannot tell you how freaking much this excites me. I grew up immersed in Victorian lore, so this is like a dream come true for me. Next are the names: the city of Elendel, the term Twinborn, and the main character's name: Waxilliam Ladrian. Besides the fact that Waxilliam is an awesome name on its own, those of you who pay attention to minuscule details will know exactly where the surname Ladrian last appeared. This book is looking more and more interesting by the second! And then there's the cover art, which in and of itself is exquisite. They say you can't judge a book by its cover, but if I knew nothing about Mistborn and saw that book on display in a store, I'd pick it up in a heartbeat. Just saying. All in all, I am ridiculously excited for this book, and I can't wait to read it! What do you guys think?

Whups, doubleposting here. Also interesting to me is the name Waxillium Ladrian. If you pay attention, that name should sound very, very familiar to you.

This is amazing. The cover is stunning, and the synopsis has me hooked already. This book is going to be spectacular!

OMG. Another Westlife fan! You just got upvoted for that, my dear. I tend to think of Seb and Siri when I hear this, mainly because I think they're my absolute favorite Cosmere couple. Seriously. I love their love story. I'm curious to see if anyone can make a connection to

Was making Warbreaker free a good idea or a bad idea?

Well, as soon as any news comes out regarding the status of Nightblood - or any of his books, of course - you'll find it here, as well as on his personal website. He has a lot in the works right now, so it'll likely be a little while yet before we hear anything. -
Congrats, Eeron! That's awesome!

That would be awesome if he did. I know I'd totally be on board with it. We could even have a dedicated thread here on the forums just for Nightblood discussion. -
Now there's an interesting question for Brandon: if Spiritual DNA can be corrupted and/or mutate, and if so, how that would affect the person involved.

Thanks to your votes, and the votes of other Brandon fans everywhere, Vin has advanced to the next round of the Suvudu.com cage match! Her opponent this time is Eric Northman, a vampire from Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire Mystery series. I particularly enjoyed the writeup for this one, so if/when you head on over to vote, I highly recommend checking it out. Once again, Vin has a huge lead, so let's all make sure to keep it that way! You can read the writeup and cast your vote here. This post has been promoted to an article

Don't forget, the Shards influence Spiritual DNA. That's how the magic works. So while Breath is related to Endowment, because of the magic's very nature, it's also related to the Soul.

Was making Warbreaker free a good idea or a bad idea?
KChan replied to ZeldaDad's topic in Warbreaker
My opinion is similar to what Zas just posted. I think it's great that he has free material available online - not just Warbreaker, but sample chapters too - but I'm glad you can't get all his books for free. That said, by the time I became a Brandon fan and read Elantris and the Mistborn trilogy, Warbreaker was only a few weeks away from publication, so I just held out to get the hardcopy. I'm not a big fan of e-reading, though I will do it on occasion. It's great to hook new people to Brandon's writing, though. In fact, reading those free chapters was what made me really want to buy his books. So kudos to Brandon on that. While some people might not get the concept of giving away his livelihood for free, I think it was a really smart decision. -
fancy frontpage launch *five!* Also, hehehe shameless plugs.

The Lord Ruler, of course. I think of him every time this song comes on the radio. My turn! - originally by Sheryl Crow, but I linked to the Honor Society cover because I adore that version. I'm curious to see if other people made the same connection I did (of course, ignore the first couple lines, since he's singing about America then).

I would like to announce that microwaves are freaking heavy, that it was miraculously nice enough outside today to have been carrying a microwave around, even if it is a rather difficult feat to accomplish on an empty stomach, and that it was worth every second of the struggle to have a microwave that actually does what microwaves are supposed to do.

Excellent question. I split this into its own topic so I could sticky it and also so it could be clearly labeled, because other people might be wondering the same thing. In answer to your question, here are the groups and what they do: Administrators: Pretty self-explanatory. We run the site. Global Moderators: Again, this one's pretty universal. They help the Admins run the site. Team Sanderson: So far, this group has two members - Brandon Sanderson and Peter Ahlstrom. Ardents: The staff who deal with theories and their respective forums Obligators: The staff who deal with RP, fanfiction, and their respective forums (including MBI) Radiants: The staff who deal with the community and its respective forums Returned: The staff who deal with fanart and its respective forum Soulcasters: The staff who deal with coding and skinning Worldbringers: The staff who deal with the Coppermind Wiki and its respective forum Members: The general population I hope that helps! I'll come back to add some formatting to this when it's not three in the morning.

The DJ on the radio today googled an explanation of what Pi actually is. Then laughed about how geeks everywhere loved her right then, and then said, "for the rest of us, Poptarts are pi squared." I lol'd, even though poptarts are rectangles. [::]
