  1. Excellent. I could have just made furniture with piles of tsundoku. Although eventually, I would have read at least some of them. You're welcome to wait a week and see if things start to pick back up, if you like! or go ahead regardless. Totally up to you. I believe we have @Ace of Hearts posting this week as well, and I'm hoping to get back into things--probably this week isn't realistic, but next week I can hopefully start chipping way a little bit.
  2. Wow, sorry, I totally missed this! This Monday for sure. I finally got my Internet as of Wednesday! I went through a reseller (cheaper and I don't have to deal with the absolutely dismal customer service of the big two) which is why it took a little longer to get organized. But, I have Internet and furniture now! Still lots to do around the house, and I'm sort of dreading the end of my vacation next week, but hopefully things start calming down a little now...
  3. Yes, please go ahead! Sorry for the delay, I think this was posted after I'd already left the house that has internet for the night...
  4. Unfortunately not yet, I have been pretty much underwater. I'll definitely start posting crits as soon as I get to read them!
  5. It's been quieter than usual that's for sure! I finally have an ETA on Internet service at my home place and am generally hoping to get things settled and start catching up while I'm on vacation... hopefully some of our regulars dip back in soon too.
  6. It's out with a few other folks right now, I'm hoping to get feedback by around August and submit the next draft here. Hopefully by then I'll have wrapped up the last odds and ends from my move, too, and gotten Internet service sorted for my new place...
  7. I'd say let's stick within the 5k word count (not sure how long your short story is, but you could do both if it's within the word count). People may be using the lull to catch up. I was hoping to find mine after the move, but so far no luck...
  8. If I figure this out, I'll let you know as soon as I've got mine.
  9. Yeah, it's a bit slower at the moment, we have a smaller group and sometimes folks aren't able to critique right away. It will pick back up again sooner or later. Go for it! Any other takers?
  10. We post the forum posts separately than the email itself--basically giving people space to respond to the email sub. You can just edit the forum post where you start the thread and it should give you an option to edit the title.
  11. Please go ahead! Ah, well you're certainly welcome to resubmit if you're hoping for more replies. It is a smaller group of people active right now than it has been in the past. Hopefully it'll be out in a bit! I've been having fun with short fiction because you can get away with things in short fiction that you can't in long fiction (as exemplified by the one I'm working on, heh). I keep telling myself I will get back to long fiction but... so far it hasn't happened When you go into edit the post, there should be an X icon on the righthand side of the attachment that you just click on to remove it:
  12. Oh yes, sorry about that! We use email to help protect people's copyright and publication rights--to protect against plagiarism and also to ensure that people keep their first publication rights. Most professional venues will consider a story published if posted online for people to read. I don't think you have to resubmit your previous chapters, but I would suggest taking the documents off of your posts. You can always include the previous documents with your current submission as long as it's clear which one you want us to critique, for those who maybe want to come in later and catch up. (Which I still hope to do myself! Plus I am revising the short story that I hinted at a couple weeks ago to eventually submit myself. But life continues to be A Lot.)
  13. Sorry for my slow reply! Both please go ahead.
  14. Oh, thank you! Glad you enjoyed the books. My stories are: "Radiant" (superhero romance) and "How to Steal a Planet" (heist-adjacent space opera) in Distant Gardens "Jack of Diamonds" in Farther Reefs (pirates, sea monsters, and historians who make bad decisions) "Into the Churn" (adventures with floating islands and flying dinosaurs) in Lofty Mountains "In the Mantle, an Inhale" (fading magic and rocky relationships) in Fiery Deeps I have one more short story called "Chasing Kusongangani" out in The World of Juno anthology, also by Space Wizard. Hopefully more out one day, somewhere! By all means!
  15. Any time during that day (in your time zone) is good. We do try to stick to the Monday as much as possible because people carve out specific times in the week to do crits, so it's easier when it's predictable.
  16. The last couple requests were for 6/16, so nothing lined up yet for 6/23. You are certainly welcome to submit that day, if you'd like (but it sounds like you have a lot on your plate, so you can always go for 6/30 if that works better!)
  17. Please do!
  18. Sounds good. Any other takers?
  19. Sorry only just saw this now! Feel free to sneak it under the wire.
  20. Please do!
  21. Go ahead!
  22. Please do! Anyone else?
  23. Hi, thanks for posting this! We usually try to avoid reproducing whole chapters on here for any reason. Glancing at the manuscript I believe this is @K. Preston's manuscript. I've removed the attachment from your post and DMed your comments to them directly.
  24. Go for it!
  25. @Ace of Hearts @ginger_reckoning please go ahead both! Sorry for the late reply, I was at a family engagement that ran long. Very long lol.
