If Other Authors Wrote the Cosmere Novels
Ravenclawjedi42 replied to Fatebreaker's topic in General Brandon Discussion
If William Goldman wrote the Stormlight Archive: You’d start by going through endless introductions that have no relevance to the plot and can be summed up in one sentence: Hoid wrote this book, I’m just retelling it. Once you finally get to the story proper, you find Shallan and Tarah merged into one character, who’s also the protagonist. It starts off with Shallan and her father in the warcamps, with Shallan’s father training Kaladin and Shallan often ordering Kaladin around. After several years of this, Shallan tells Kaladin that she loves him. The next day, however, The Dread Soldier Helanran—not related to Shallan, in this he is a female Horneater princess warrior—attacks Kaladin, Kaladin presumably dies. A year later, Shallan is betrothed to Prince Adolin. A few months before their wedding, though, Shallan is kidnapped by some Alethi royalty—Jasnah, Dalinar, and Elhokar. The three of them started doing odd jobs for Adolin after he became king in all but name, having Elhokar pushed to the side. Jasnah leads the trio and is smart, Dalinar is still a dumb warrior, but good friends with Elhokar, and Elhokar is a master duelist who is trying to avenge the death of his father Gavilar, by finding the Assassin in White and murdering him. The three would bring Shallan to the Shattered plains, only to be followed by a Shardplate-wearing warrior. They suspect him to be the Dread Soldier Helanran, but have no way of confirming their theory. He then beats both Elhokar in a duel and Dalinar in a wrestling match, and then has a “battle of the wits” with Jasnah, after which she dies. Actually dies. The Man in Plate grabs Shallan and runs with her into the chasms, where it’s revealed that he is the Dread Soldier Helanran, but not really, as he killed the actual Helanran and took her armor. The Man in Plate is also Kaladin. After the lovers reunite, they brave the Chasms during a Highstorm and emerge triumphant, only for Kaladin to be “recruited” by Highprince Adolin and a mysterious bald man who follows him around. It’s revealed that the bald man is actually the Assassin in White. They bring Kaladin to the jail, where he spends quite some time. Elhokar and Dalinar reunite in Kholinar, and start trying to kill the Assassin in White. They use their power to free Kaladin from jail, but don’t tell Highprince Adolin. Kaladin is too depressed to do anything, though, so they bring him to Hoid who tells him cheerful stories. Shallan also has a few chapters, but she doesn’t really do anything except make Adolin mad at her. Elhokar and Dalinar bring Kaladin back to the palace in Kholinar, where Elhokar murders Szeth and Kaladin rescues Shallan from Adolin. The four of them—Kaladin, Shallan, Elhokar, and Dalinar—steal Adolin’s Ryshadiums and escape Kholinar together, going towards Urithiru.- 163 replies

“Not necessarily. Even non-rad—wait a minute? Where’d Lisyina go?” Everyone looks around, but the Purelaker is nowhere to be found. All that there is is a reflective black path with two sets of footprints sunken into it, which leads into an alleyway. “Well,” Nandok says. “Should we follow them? Or stop and get supplies first?” -
Ravini woke up. They were stuffed in between a ceiling fan and the ceiling…how did they get there? They must have flown up at some point. Ravini knows that they probably should get up, but…they didn’t wanna. So it was back to sleep again…

Rajib puts a hand to their chest. “Excuse me?! I know I’m new here, but that’s no reason to…in fact, my being new here works against me, as I know hardly anything about this part of the Roughs. Abeloth (The Wandering Wizard) was looking kind of suspicious, being the first one to talk and immediately suspecting Mud.”- 156 replies

Clinic: Somewhere I’m insane, according to my family. So they sent me here. It’s because sometimes I— Why did you drop that table?! I am seriously considering taking a dagger and carving the words table-dropper into your back and cutting your tongue and arms out, leaving the only way for you to communicate to point to the words in your back, making it the only way you can identify yourself to point to the letters on your back, to show everyone what you truly are.

The Person Below Me

If your referring to the bestseller list, then no. I do, however, know somebody whose restaurant made the 100 best restaurants in New York City list. TPBM likes Seinfeld. -
Sorry, it’s just…that choir was one of my least favorite things I’ve ever heard. And I don’t actually think I’m going to do that, but…elaborate murder plots often pop into my head. It’s one of the reason’s my family sent me here. They’re hoping that the officials here can help me figure out why this is happening. And after I actually made good on one of those ideas, I was forced to come here. But I do want subtitles, I just…I don’t think it’s worth the choir.

Subtitles, great! Thanks a lot. Just one thing…could you maybe turn that choir off? It is making me want to grab a knife and place it to your neck and slowly cut through the skin, causing you intense pain, and when I’d have sawed through the neck cut your esophagus in half and sew up the ends so that whenever you eat you don’t get any fuller, and eventually your mouth overflows with food, and then before you starve to death I’d scar you and take you to your friends—and family, if you have—who wouldn’t recognize you after all the scar tissue covering your body, but I’d murder them in front of you while you cry, and lock you up to die alone. Thanks!
