  1. The emu-fire was indigo and
  2. To see they needed Hemulios,
  3. “Watch Mike. Make sure he’s okay. And if,” don’t day if. He will awaken. “when he wakes up, tell him I’m sorry.” Autumn walks out of the tavern and into the woods.
  4. Bob looks around, worried, but and tightens his muscles to be prepared to run if he needed to.
  5. Allegra sits outside the Apollo cabin, playing Blackbird on guitar and singing the words to himself under their breath. The song had taken her some time to master, but they had it now. It really is a beautiful song.
  6. Ráven smiles. “Well, I’m off to the village. Find my family. Thank you again. I can’t…can’t believe I’m really back.”
  7. Ráven looks around. They were in a hilly field, with pale green grass and the occasional ápple tree. The sky above is a pale blue, close to white, without a single cloud. The sun is a tiny white speck in the sky, but the field is still well-lit. Ráven kneels and sniffs the unsaturated grass and find a tomato-esque scent that brings tears to their eyes. “You really did it,” they say. “You really b-brought me…home.” Ráven turns quickly. “Thank you! Thank you so so so so much!” “‘Tsokay. I prefer coffee m’self.” “Can I ask a question?” Josh asks. “Was it your first time readin’ the series? Or was it a reread?”
  8. “That…yeah. But I don’t think I’ll leave until we have all of this sorted out.” Autumn straightens up. “Well, I’m off to the forest for my daily vocal practice.”
  9. Bob looks around, then crawls into one of the holes. It’ll be safer here than out there…probably. You never know, though.
  10. Bob looks around, scared, and annoyed that there aren't any guns. He eventually stands up straighter and runs towards the east as it seems to be the calmest area.
  11. Yep, but now I’m winning.
  12. did not light up enough
  13. Bob was human today, a small blessing. His thoughts were important, today especially. Humans were made for this kind of stuff. Bob freezes slightly, looking at the cornucopia, scanning it for a gun. The only weapon I know how to use.
  14. Autumn looked down sorrowfully, thinking of Mike. “I…yes. I should go.” But do I want to?
  15. “The Capital, apparently. I’m supposed to go there because I have magic powers or something. Pretty cool.” “Oh. And they’d let me spend it on travel?” What if I don’t want to be associated with religion?
  16. Hallucinations….this sounds suspicious…but how else will I learn their plan? “I permit thee to grant me a hallucination,” Corbeau said firmly. Best to keep up a firm look, not to look scared. Fear is almost always disadvantageous to be seen with. - - - - - - “They are not my friend,” Itsuki said, then immediately regretted it. Wasn’t he just lamenting on how he wanted more friends? Including Asylum? Then why was his mind against it? Why did Asylum have to make themself so…unlikeable? “And Chloris is not my suitor. It’s not…I’m not going to just ‘get over’ Vinette. She wasn’t that kind of person.” Itsuki sighed wistfully, remembering her. Her hair, a warm light brown, coffee with a dash of cream like he had seen served in the city. Her skin like a fine pale porcelain vase which had become smudged with dirt and scars. Her hair had been so long when he first met her, in twin braids that fell to her waist, before she cut them off, and left her hair short, but even more beautiful. “She is more than just ‘that Ghostblood.’” Itsuki noticed the girl approach. But that was wrong. She was much older than a girl, at least 13, at most a short 20-year-old. Only ten or so years younger than himself. It was strange how he thought of her as younger than she really was. Itsuki smiled at her as she walked over.
  17. “Forward…forward…” Somebody new comes in. “‘Ello? I can sit on the jury…m’name’s Josh.”
  18. The emu-fire was hidden well.
  19. Autumn sighs. “No, I suppose not…I was hoping that some people might come, but you’re right, I suppose…but how am I going to pay for the trip without money from the concert?”
  20. made out of paper, which
  21. Ráven nods, wincing visibly, eyes closed. “Forwards…forwards…”
  22. They didn’t use emu sacrifices
  23. human sacrifices to be brought
  24. “Forwards,” Ráven whispers under their breath. “Forwards.” They repeat the words like a mantra.
  25. These crocuses were not bloodied.
