  1. I started reading the cosmere on the first year of my degree in physics and sociology, and after reading most of it (reading Edgedancer now, and missing Shadows of Silence and SP4), I looked at some of the spoiler streams and saw that someone asked about E=mc^2, and Brandon said that he didn't develop the math for this, since it would be to restricting, and that there were some problems, like how a sphere can emit light without losing energy. So, being a young eager physics student, I sat down and found solutions, for the sphere and for the restriction issue. Then... I developed these solutions. I found why Investiture acts at times like matter and at times like energy, how it causes effects in the Physical Realm, and what, assuming the solutions are turn, must be the structure of the Spiritual and Cognitive Realms. This allowed me to formulate a quantum description for Investiture and a General Relativity description for Realmatic Theory (which I think still needs some work). Anyway, I wanted to share this, so I wrote a paper called "A Quantum Description of Invesisutre". It's presumebly written in world, so no scientific names are there, though there are a lot of scientific terms. I used one side of the alethi caligrapher's script for some of the equations. Please tell me what you think, A Quantum Description of Investiture.pdf
  2. Those are cool ideas. My fanfic is actually a scientific article, written in the university of Silverlight. I study physics, and I wanted to try and create a comprehensive work on the nature of Investiture using rigorous mathematical principles. This is actually a lot of fun. Plus a good excercise in building theories. I needed the script to add single character notations of concepts from the cosmere to the equations. Namely Investiture and Intent, Spiritweb, Identity and Connection. To be honest, I didn't really think yet of a timeframe... I am using a lot of knowledge that the community has, but I'm not sure characters in world would have it... I need to think about this. I would love to hear your thoughts.
  3. Hi Thank you very much for you notes. Past correct me if I'm wrong again. I wanted a font that contained the original letters from which the Alethi modern glyphs have developed. According to the letter written by Nazh, and quoted in the article I linked to, these are the original from which the glyphs have developed. They represent historically somewhere between the modern glyphs and the original Dawnchant. Obviously I can't write modern glyphs with those, but I needed single letters for a fanfic I'm writing, and that was the best I could find.
  4. Hello After looking around the Internet and not finding the Alethi Standard Phenome Script in font form, I decided to create a quick one myself. I would love to hear what you think, and if there already exists one that I couldn't find, please tell me! I used Nazh's notes and the description in the coppermind to create this
  5. Apologies, you are right of course
  6. This is a very interesting theory, but I have an issue with it. If she had no physical body, why did Painter look like her when in her "world". Design said that Painter's body took her shape because she had enough Investiture to bend it to her Identity, and they deduced that this is the reason that her body didn't change for him, he wasn't Invested enough. You could say he took the place of her cognitive shadow, but that makes no sense because her cognitive shadow was there, invisible to anyone but him. The way I see this whole event, is that she had a body, held together by Investiture similar to a Returned, as we've seen the five scholars survive for hundreds of years on Investiture alone, also Hoid said she died when the machine started to work, so I think she actually Returned, making her a type II invested entity. When she died, she would have reached the beyond, but hey body disintegrated since after all this time, when she left it, it couldn't hold itself. Think about it, the only Returned we've seen did is Lightsong, and we didn't hear him stretching out, we didn't see really see his death, we just know that he died, and we see his body after (which of course didn't disintegrate because it was only a few years since he died, not seventeen hundreds). After that, like any highly Invested entity, she remained in the Cognitive realm for a short while. This is the time limit. If he didn't convince her to come back, she would continue. He obviously used his Connection and his art to dresser her closer, but pulling her, the original Yumi, back to the physical world, and convincing her to stay. Hoid said she was as real as anyone else, because she decided. This means that she had agency, she could decide. She could have chosen to continue, but she decided to stay, using her Investiture to put her Identity into the Shroud and crying herself a new body from it, the same way she made Painter's body fit her Identity. In the end, it was her, the same Yumi he was connected to, Identity and all, that decided to return. What do you think?
  7. Also when is the stream? I can't a date it anywhere
