There’s a small bottle with a single pill and it’s not labeled. It has a small water bottle, and a pocket knife. He just looks down. “Whatever. Let’s just get those berries. I need to get home before nightfall.” The horse speeds up, heading up the mountain. It has some parchment paper in it with a small quill and ink. There is also a small amount of rope about 15 feet long and an extra pair of socks. An ooze grabs the water bottle back, almost a sniffling coming from the pile. “Nobody touch my stuff.” It cries.

They head towards the hills, in the east. In the distance there’s some clattering and noise, but they seem safe. They should probably head farther east. “Why… didn’t my people come save us?” He says quietly, a brokenness in his voice. “They just…kept us here for the next games with the capitol children…”

He sighs. “Never heard of them. Haven’t left this… prison in so many years…” He adjusts his glove. “You have a brother hmm? I had my little sister and I. Of course I have my girlfriend, she’s afraid of me coming up into the mountains, but she didn’t fall for a coward.” He laughs a little, a hearty laugh. “I’m from district 10, has anything happened there? The rest of my family is still there.”

He just goes silent. “You do as you please.” The horse neighs slightly and slows down, the man looks over and pats her. “Go on girl, keep going.” It’s getting colder the farther you travel up. He looks back over at them once the horse starts going again. “I’m Volden. Most call me Vod though.” He holds out his gloved hand, thick with leather and wool.

He looks over at him. “Oh that would be incredible. But… there are… 5 of them… no man has ever lived to see all five, hardly ever seen more than one myself.” He says quietly. “It would be a dangerous mission, surely not worth trying. Your life would be lost before you got to the third certainly. You are a young lad, we’ve sent out tens of men and few ever returned.”

“Oh you will never be accepted among my people.” He hums, looking out at the snow. “Out in the far east, we’ve settled there. Very few of us ever leave, too many scared people. Cowards.” He sighs. “There used to be a few hundred of us. Died off when the monsters arrived a few months ago. I lost my younger sister…” he goes silent, just the clink of the reigns,

“Oh I’m not the only one. There’s tens of us, maybe a hundred? You must be new around here, I’ve been here for a few years. Most of us have. Trapped here for a long time from years and years ago. I got here as a young boy.” He looks early 30’s. “Only recently have the monsters arrived though… it’s strange. I haven’t seen the outside world in…” he trails off. “What’s changed since we were put here? I’ve lost track of time, but I heard there is rumor you all aren’t brethren.” He smiles a little. “You don’t look district born, not that I know.” He seems eager to learn, if what he says is true, he was thrown in here nearly twenty years ago, when they were building arenas ahead of time. He chuckles a little. “You are so oblivious arent you?” He picks up the lantern, looking around the cart into the snow to check around. “Well you see boy, there’s a legend of a monster up in these mountains, stalking the caves. He is tall, lanky, thin, and a pure white. He blends into the snow until you see the blue of his iris.” He sets the lantern back down. “I’m heading up the mountain myself to grab me some of the rarest berries in all the north to make the finest pie. You can come with if you’d like… just… don’t be too loud.” His tentacle retracts, grabbing the weapon, hissing. “My precious, my treasure.” It holds it close, going back into the cornucopia pile. Disappearing as a black oozing goop. “Greedy boy touches you… never again.” It almost whimpers, crying in the pile, it sinking down over it again.

“Well I know dat. Haven’t you heard tho?” He holds out a blanket for him, the lantern sitting at the bottom of the cart floor. The horse heaves them up the mountain, it’s a black horse with a thick white mane and tail. The man adjusts his hat. “Surely you must know.” It pulls him onto his stomach, dragging him towards him. “Greedy greedy, give it back.” @Lotus Blossom

You see the horse pulling a man on a cart. He waves to you, holding up his lantern. “What are you doing this far north, lad?!” He calls, a big smile on his face. He is layered in wool and cotton clothing, his cart full of bags and food but there’s definitely room to climb on and sit on the bench on the other side of him. (See descriptions on 1st page) The fog thickens around you slightly. It grabs his wrist, twisting around it tightly and trying to pull him in. “Greedy, greedy boy give my treasures back.”

It seems as if you run forever, but when you turn around you are in the same space. You see the swish of a horses tail up ahead. You must continue north or the temperatures will drop.

The giant beast glares at him, Aaron might recognize his voice and his eyes… it’s as if…. Is that Goose? It moves towards them, its tentacles reaching out for them. Four at Aaron, two at @Lotus Blossom. “Greedy boy, angering me.” It hisses. The clopping continues, getting farther by the minute. You might have to chase it. The temperature drops more. 24 degrees (F) this far into the region. It doesn’t. You keep the branch, four feet long, six inches thick around.

Ice layers under the snow, the snow thickening and wet. It soaks into your clothes, up to your mid shins. There are some logs and a small path, the click of metal sounds and lantern light lights up the mountain with its little fire light. Hooves clop through the snow up ahead as well, you can hear the swish of a tail and clack of reigns. The snow falls fast, thickening. You can’t see 40 feet ahead, it layers your eye lashes and over your hair, sticking like gum. Fields of flowers and rolling hills, a chilly swift breeze and a sunny sky. Clouds layering the sky like a painting crafted by the finest artist. Holes scatter the ground now and then, going deep into the dry earth beneath you, nearly hidden by the tall grass and swaying weeds.

You head into a cold area, the temperature dropping and snow starting to fall. Mountains lie ahead and ice. A frozen lake near by. (Sorry, I can give a better description. I’m in class. If you wait a bit I can write one out)

(See forest description in earlier posts) He enters the forest in the west. It cuts, squirming a little before shriveling. The rest of it sinks back into the pile. Suddenly the pile moves, a giant creature starting to come out. You see a multicolored glow from its eyes, the Roman numeral 5 in place of its pupil. Stuff falls off of it. It looks angry. There was a bow and 15 arrows by the pile, you watch a giant creature rise out of the pile and send it flying a few feet away from it. Its attention is currently on @Weaver of Lights and @Lotus Blossom It cuts and the end of it shrivels. It looks directly at him. It hisses. (See my reply to @Lotus Blossom for more details) (See earlier descriptions of the forest) He can run either east, west, north, or south. East and west have people already in their areas.

There wasn’t one, but there was a hole in the pile. The flowers bloom out of the hills, a few small rabbits jump around. Something grabs her by her foot. “Don’t be greedy!” Her ankle turns slightly black as if bruised as a gooey oozing almost tentacle reaches out of the pile and pulls her closer.

As he grabs the water bottle it’s yanked back into the overflowing pile, a black gooey like substance pulling it back. A low hiss. “Greedy greedy little boy.” You see a slight movement within the pile, a substance moving through it. It’s voice is somewhat recognizable if some would recognize it from…somewhere.

The cornucopia has a large pile of items, ranging in all uses. There are some packs and weapons, some antidotes for illnesses in another language, food and rations in small amounts, and small quantities of water. It’s overflowing with necessities. A voice whispers. “Don’t get greedy, boy.” It’s a familiar voice to some. Maybe not others. You head to the west across the center of the arena. The center of the arena is a grassy field containing the cornucopia. As you get closer to the forest the grass changes, leaves start falling, the air starts cooling. Not far ahead you @Argenti goes in the same direction. As you run from the cornucopia you head into a strange territory, everything changing the farther you go. When you hit the forest a low fog starts to collect as orange and yellow leaves float from the nearly bare trees. (See @Lord Spirit’s description for more information)

Goose stands happily cleaning his metal nametag. His eyes are covered by the shadow of his hat. He has a mug of tea in his hand. Suddenly his smile is appears and he disappears. You then hear a crackle by the vent. He reappears just as he was, except without the tea and staring at them with his right eye, glowing with four colors. The Roman numeral 5 in place of a black pupil.

She nods silently, mumbling. “Mhm…I’m fine.” Her eyes gleam, a slight wet look forming over them before disappearing with the flutter of her eyelid. She holds Lily closer, taking an extra step closer to Roy. She looks across the crowd, a limping Antonio coming down the hill. Mirabelle being pushed with him. She can see from here she her screams. He isn’t moving fast enough. “We need to get out of here…” She whispers. @Just-A-Stick @RoyalBeeMage Antonio limps forward, struggling to stand as he was forced forward with the butts of peacekeeper guns. “Go- just run ahead-“ he coughs to Mirabelle who is trying to grab his hand as peacekeepers try to shove them into the crowd of children.

Suddenly a dark man appears, stretched out by his shadow and swerves up the wall and out of it. ”Is this… fighting I hear?” His head turns unnaturally, flipping upside down slightly. You see a small flash of his eye. The Roman numeral five barely visible in the place of the pupil, surrounded by a mix of four colors. Red. Blue. Green. Yellow. It pierces into your soul. Goose’s eye is then covered by shadow once more.

She stands silently in the crowd, holding Lily close. She gasps slightly at the name being called.
