  1. Aaron isn’t where Kaza expected, but the blade still sliced his leg. He stands and begins chopping at Kaza.
  2. Aaron falls, using the fall to slam the handle of the axe into Kaza’s face. Then, knowing that wouldn’t stop him, he stands up and begins swinging the axe repeatedly into Kaza (if he can)
  3. Aaron takes the hit, then swings the axe again. Suddenly, he’s just at the right range to make the swing most efficient.
  4. The axe hit with a sickening crunch, so unlike that of wood. Aaron looked away for a second, but then turned his gaze back to Kaza. Had that killed him? Aaron didn’t know what would be needed to kill someone’s.
  5. Aaron immediately swung at his prone figure, taking the advantage.
  6. “You hear that gamemakers!” Aaron yelled to the sky.
  7. “I don’t have a family, it’s as simple as that. You being willing to kill there kid is enough to show you’re a monster. You don’t even feel bad about it, do you? That’s why you’re smiling, you’re excited for it!”
  8. “But you will have his, and you will force Jane’s hand. You’re a monster.”
  9. Aaron held it out, ready to attack if Kaza got close enough. “I know you don’t want to kill me. Are you going to kill your little friend over there too? How far will you go?”
  10. “Not killing isn’t weakness, it’s strength, my friend.” He put emphasis on the friend part.
  11. “Better a dog than a man like you, so eager to kill. That’s where I went wrong, I should never have wanted to be a killer.”
  12. “Too scared that I’ll beat you?” Aaron jeered, trying to get Kaza to attack.
  13. Aaron doesn’t charge. He would do best to wait for Kaza to get close, the axe had better reach, so he could fend him off at range.
  14. Aaron pulls out his axe. “So be it. Jane, don’t interfere please.” @Lotus Blossom
  15. “And if I kill you, that’s one less person for her to beat. Your choice.”
  16. “How about you don’t.”
  17. “No. She has to be the one to kill me, not you.”
  18. “We go our separate ways, and if we’re the last ones standing, then we fight. If we fight now, even if I don’t best you, I will injure you. Neither of us will come out of this fight unscathed. You know that.”
  19. “But not yet. We could both live for a little longer.”
  20. “Are you? We can still end this peacefully. I don’t want to kill you, but I will.”
  21. Aaron walks into the clearing where the cornucopia is, his axe drawn. He scans it, looking for Kaza.
  22. “One of the tributes I talked to on the train. He wants to duel, and I think I can beat him. Then you’ll kill me, because our time will be up.” “Food,” he said excited. He immediately drank down half of his, then held it out for Jane. “You need this more than me.”
  23. “I’m not sure, we may turn into birds…”
