The snake tail bit at her.

It weaved its head through the blows, biting at her.

It stepped towards her.

It smashed into the monster, and it released Edgar, turning to him. He crawled away, clutching his leg. The chimera turned to face her. @Lunamor @The Clarinetist @The Aspiring Archivist

Edgar rushed the chimera, forming a sword. He slashed across its face, distracting it. Unfortunately, he distracted it well. It lunged forward, biting into his calf. He screamed again in agony, dropping Gift.

“Ok.” She bowed her head, not looking at any of them.

“I…I…” she sank to the floor. What now? If being with them hurt them and leaving them hurt them…?

And again. All I do is hurt people.

“Yes.” “No you don’t.”

“I tried. I can’t succeed. It makes me stronger, yes. Strong enough to do what needs to be done.”

Aaron struggles to his feet, trying to take in his surroundings. He was going to die, wasn’t he? At least then Jane wouldn’t worry about him.

“Maybe, until after you know you can’t succeed you realize its better just to give up.”

The tail (snake head thing) attacked her again, it’s fangs glistening with venom.

Edgar was determined to keep the monster’s head, or the lion one, away from Jenny. She could take care of the snake part, he and Terrance would take care of the lion part. They could do this!

She slashed across its flank, a deep wound. The snake tail whipped towards her, the snakes head biting at her.

Its claws slashed his arm, but he avoided the brunt of the attack. Edgar smacked the snake’s head with his shield, then rounded the monster to fight next to Terrance. “I’ll defend, you attack.”

It pierced the beast’s side. It roared in pain, rounding on him and pouncing. Edgar fought off the snake with his shield.

The snake bit at him again, and his thrust was knocked aside by the muscular snake body.

“But aren’t you also supposed to succeed sometimes?”

It ignored her, still biting at Edgar.
