She let go of him when she realized it was making him uncomfortable, then slid back, looking abashed.

Stupid! Why did I say that? She sat there, shocked, then slowly slid over to where he was sitting and pulled him close.

“Ok. I…can’t imagine you deserving it though. But even if you did somehow, you’d still be the best person I know.”

“Why? Why did they do it?”

She tried but was unable to stop him. “I’m sure you didn’t.”

“…is that what happened? Why did they do it? And that doesn’t change how I feel about you.” She grabbed his hand before he could let go completely. “You are a good man.”

“I’ve already explained how you are.”

“You’re drunk,” she said condescendingly.

“I think I haven’t seen all you can do, and therefore underestimate you, though you are still the best person I’ve interacted with.”

“I think…you’re right, but not in the way you think.” She smiled when he did so.

“You wouldn’t be the one to.”

“I…I’m not sure. I need you to answer first.”

She grew very embarrassed. “I…I didn’t mean to say…that’s not all you are to me. I…what am I to you?”

“Really? I thought you were looking for someone.”

“I’m glad it is now. Why are you asking all this?”

“Alright boys, that’s enough,” comes a feminin voice from a nearby alley. A beautiful woman walks out. “Don’t you have somewhere to be?” @Little j @Just-A-Stick

“But you won’t let me take you to the hospital?”

“You care about me instead of what I can do for you.”

“I wish I knew. You’re… different from other people I’ve called friends.”
